First off: Pastor Merrie's sermons are always incredibly interesting and thoughtful...you don't want her to stop talking! She's super knowledgable and excited about the gospel and gives it rich insightful and historical context: from back when it was written AND how it's meaningful in current times. p.s. she's an ex-catholic herself a very kid/family friendly church and hands down the nicest congregation I've met; just hard working compassionate folks, great company; coffee hr always fun! the sense of community is palpable; so many opportunities to serve those in need and to come together to raise money in fun ways (ping pong tournaments, epic garage sales, raffles etc) the music/choir is wonderful...the music director is a true gem...there's a kids' handbell choir too! my family is beyond happy to have found this spiritually invigorating home away from home. give it a try...service is Sundays at 10a

This church is AMAZING…read more Both my wife and I loved the service and the passionate people who make up such a great and welcomed addition to the city of Lowell!! Being 1st time guest we were warmly welcomed by the church's body of both other consistent parishioners, Pastor and Elder. The church building itself is large, bright, and has a club (not like Webster hall) like auto system It's also nicely laid out. Extra space for the kids to run around and play a simple game is catch with a small nerve foot ball in side a church.....Yes you read that right play foot ball inside a church. How could you not love this??? God and NFL. You get the vibe from looking at the outside of the building that this is a True church that was build for the decades to follow and updated with love, passion and attention to every last detail. I was immediately hit with the sense that something very special is going on in this place. Bigger then any one can really wrap there mind around in my opinion The whole church not just the building but more importantly the body that makes up the church has an amazing and truly inspirational story. I believe that the church is only as big, spiritual, humble, and loving as the people who worship there and you will find all of these people in this House of God. The pastor him self is very laid back, down to earth and personable. (3words same meaning I know) He has been gifted with a naturally organic gift to spread The Gospel. Is it bad if I say I would grab a beer with him?? He's sermon become full circle when he applied a teaching that the Bible tells us occurred over 2K years ago and brought it home when he told us how we all have Spears throw at us in our daily life and gave us ways spears can be low point we face daily. He also made a valid point when it was said it's how we face those challenging times that make us better. It's about pulling the spares out of the wall or keeping it in and not questioning Gods well. (Kinda wordy but I can't seem to put this paragraph in less words) I would be bat $hi% crazy and need to see Chip the church's sole elder and Medical Doctor if he was a psychologist (he's not he's a vascular surgeon) if I did not mention the music leader. I know the entire music staff is truly gifted, it takes a LOT to go on stage and sing, but I did not hear there voices well. Back to the music leader- Her voice is powerful enough to transmit and carries through out this large church. She has tones of grit and grace If that make any sense. I was setting there and just said to my self her voice is gracefully grit. What a gift/talent she has!!! She is not only singing but playing the keyboard. She writes her own songs and dose not sing your grandfathers Christian music, hers is upbeat and happy. The music is sang with beauty and such grace. The songs have deep really deep meaningful meaning that are put up on a huge projector on stage. The church has a growing congregation it seem as they had about 50/60 people when I want today. They just launched in November of 2015. Here's what I loved the most; all the people were unique in there own God given way. Young, old, Black, Asian, Hispanic, White. Christians, Catholics and maybe even non- believers. Just a great group of people that care for one another enjoying great music followed by a well thought out sermon given by a man who dose not make it seem like he's giving you Bible lessons but more friendly wisdom that happens to be in a church and he is just so happens to be a Christian Pastor You can't afford not to go to this church. My wife and I are looking forward to going again at some point hopefully be able to partake in the Lord's Last Supper as they don't do it weekly. We're Also looking forward to seeing the fully immersion Baptisms and in the words of Chip "The BIG banquet that follows."

The congregation is very welcoming, particularly to the LGBTQ community. Music at St. Paul's is beautiful. The church building itself is a gorgeous design by Cram. I hope more people join their parish because this community has everything going for it!

Such a life-changing week and it definitely transformed the lives of everyone in my team. We literally lived on their 2nd floor for a whole week through a mission organization called Touch The World and got to experience all the joy and blessings that came through serving the people of Lynn alongside the awesome folks at ECIC :) Their arms are so stretched out and touching everyone in the community. From the Haven Project, the MetroKids, the food pantry, the LOTH coffee shop, to the My Brothers' Table - everything they do have the well-being of the people of Lynn in mind, physically, mentally, spiritually. I highly recommend checking out the Sunday services at 9:45, 11, and 12:30 (dang - I still remember it after saying it hundreds of time throughout that one week). Everyone is welcome and when they say everyone, they really mean EVERYONE. They will welcome you with open arms. There is also children program called "All City Kids" and youth program called "All City Youth" if you got kids of those age.

AMAZING is the first word that comes to my mind as I write this review…read more I was first invited by a friend and decided to attend a Sunday service with my children. I was surprised by the diversity and acceptance of all that were in attendance. People of all ages and backgrounds just appeared to be at ease. Everyone was all smiles and very welcoming. Being in my twenties and not knowing what to expect, I was super nervous to attend as I have mostly been to Catholic churches in the past and not regularly. But I was at ease almost immediately. I signed my children into the kid's programs they offer before service started. There are various programs for kids of all ages (Lil' City Babies for ages 0-2, a nursery; Lil' City Kids for ages 3-4; and All City Kids, for ages 5-11). They really interact in such a positive way in all these children's lives. My children left so happy, excited to share their experience, and with a desire to return. I mean what kids honestly say they cannot wait to go back to church????? Well, here at ECIC, your kids will!! The adult service is so refreshing and relatable. There is music, a great sermon, and even good coffee lol. They also have a Wednesday service that follows with small groups so that you can reflect on what was discussed. I have gone every week since and wouldn't have it any other way. For the first time EVER, I feel like I can get close to Jesus in a way I didn't know was possible and it is because of this loving, accepting community. ECIC gives back to the community on so many levels, check it out, don't be shy. There is no parking lot which can be a bummer, but there is street parking available.

My husband and I started attending St Joseph's Church when our boys were six and three years old…read more Although we lived in Stoneham, this wonderful church in Wakefield was perfect for us, because we always took our boys into what was called "the crying room". We were able to attend Mass with two little ones in a glass-enclosed room and not disturb anyone. My sons are now 45 and 42! About 18 years ago, we returned to St Joseph's, after attending St Patrick's in Stoneham for many years, only because my boys were attending St Patrick's School. We felt like we had "come home". Fr Ron is wonderful, and has truly enriched our spiritual lives. There is so much available at St Joseph's to increase anyone's faith! There is daily Mass (twice each morning), along with praise and worship of the Eucharist, Adoration of the Eucharist, Bible classes, faith formation discussion groups, and opportunities to volunteer to help the bereaved, along with knit and pray while making beautiful afghans for those in need. There are dinners for the needy Who welcome volunteers. St Joseph's is a wonderful family parish that is welcoming to everyone. Fr Ron is a holy and faith-filled pastor who will inspire you with his homilies. My husband and I feel so fortunate to be members of St Joseph's Church in Wakefield.
