Her nurse was Christina and the attending physician was Doctor Christopher Hummel and then there was Terry (I believe he was the MA on duty) who also attended to my sisters care. As soon as we entered the facility, we were warmly greeted, my sister's concerns were addressed immediately and we were both made to feel so welcomed and comfortable. We could feel the love and care offered to us....immeasurable. The parking is plentiful and accessibility is easy .As I said, from the front door up to and including until we left, the level of care was immeasurable. WE ARE SO THANKFUL

My son went into this hospital today around 4ish to 5'oclock am he was medical screened & during…read morehis medical screening he was told the test would be $650. he then explained he did not have insurance and stated the lady then walked out & relayed that information to another nurse. So basically, they gave him papers stating upper respiratory infection, so was this not an emergency? Based on the conversation with Helen she stated no. So, in other words, if he had the $650, he was sick but since he did not, he was not sick enough for them, so he was then told to take over the counter medicine. I have never seen anyone in my life be denied medical care unless there were combative and the police had to be called. So, I called as a parent because my son could've passed out or anything could've happened leaving that medical facility with no treatment. I don't care if you are a private hospital or not. They didn't check to see if he was dehydrated, no iv, no blood work all because he did not have $650. He is a young black man & went to seek medical attention just because he was alone or didn't have insurance he still should've been treated. I then called Elite hospital I stayed on the phone for 30 minutes trying while the receptionist explained to the nurse my reason for calling. I needed to know why he was denied treatment? I was trying to understand their reasoning but got me with disregard, disrespect, excuses and kindness, with Helen the tone was definitely hostile, she appeared to seem surprised as to why I'm calling very not nurse like. No compassion, empathy, sympathy or anything was given. Upper respiratory infections are contagious and can be caused by bacteria. Helen was very condescending, so the phone call went all the way left. I then asked for the director of nurses and was placed on hold, then told I could not get that information by Helen. I then explained I had been given that information before on cards or provided with a phone number at least. I had to call another nurse that works in another hospital to find out Brenda Hess is the Chief Nursing Officer, I then asked Helen to provide me with a person who was in charge over her and she stated no one was there she is in charge. The phone call got heated and she hung up I then called back. I called back & was then passed around of course because now Helen has informed her coworkers of what I said and what is going on. Liz gets on the phone with no sympathy or empathy stating I'm aware of what's going on and proceeds to tell me what I already been told about the medical screening. I stated I'm aware Liz clearly needs training in people skills. Liz stated you are not getting Mrs. Hess phone number I will give you her email & then proceeds to tell me to stop yelling & continues to hang up because she is mad, I have exchanged words with her coworker. I find this very offensive, rude & shows the lack of. I ask for specific information & was met with no accountability. In all of this my son was denied care because he was black & did not have $650. If it had been anyone else, I'm sure they would've received treatment private facility or not. I ended up taking him to another medical facility for medical attention. Nurses are here to show compassion, empathy, patience, & humility and my son did not get any of that. The way this world is going it pays to be kind, humble and caring. Then they have a saying at Elite your emergency is our emergency that is completely false. A good nurse finds deep meaning in helping others, advocating for them, and making a difference. I would give them a zero if I could. I wouldn't take a dog here & looking at the reviews I see why they are not 5 stars.

Funny but the nurse who shaved my meaty thighs was a 30footfall fan and we talked about the show she had just seen at Bad Astronaut Brewing. Then I met Dr Cunningham and his cath lab crew . So I got my probes done while listening to RUSH 2112 . Figured the space sounds would help the probe get to my heart to do its thing . During clean up we talked about rock and roll and they wanted to hear my band some listened to Die Fast . They got to hear Cars and Handsome . So man cool people and rock and roll is everywhere . WORST CARE EVER ! Right there next to HCA. Their NP on the 2nd floor gatekeeping medical records,…read moregatekeeping the actual doctor, pretty much called my son-in-law a liar to his face! She was way too emotional, fervently insisting we, including the ambulance team are wrong! What is the matter with a hospital that lets their Nurse Practitioners dictate over doctors, Refuses to go and get a DOCTOR, and insulting other vital departments by insinuating they do not know how to do their jobs!?! What an emotional-ego on that one! She was just about stomping and jumping up and down. I would whole heartedly NOT recommend Houston Methodist @ the Woodlands. There are plenty of other hospital that do want your business and will be compassionate.

I had robotic assisted colon surgery at this hospital…read more On the day of surgery, I arrived at the hospital at 6am for a 8am start. I was promptly checked-in by the lady at registration and then walked over to the surgical waiting room. After waiting about five minutes, I was taken back to the pre-op area, where I was prepped for my surgery. All the surgical staff, from the pre-op nurse to my surgical team took excellent care of me. Upon completion of my surgery, I was taken to the recovery room, after which I was transferred to a room in the hospital, as I was admitted as a in-patient after my surgery. All the nurses and patient techs on the floor took excellent care of me and were very responsive to my needs. In conclusion, I had a very good surgery & in-patient experience at this hospital.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!…read more Seriously, I took my spouse here due to the recommendation of urgent care doctor at CareNow on Barker Cypress( beware) He stated he checked him in already and we wouldn't have to wait (lies). The name he gave as a reference no one in the ER knew that person (smh). Blood pressure was 191/137 and all we kept hearing was that it was bad for his BP to be that elevated but yet they did NOTHING to bring it down. First excuse was don't want to take it down to fast but after a full day there BP still sitting at 191/132. HCA is a complete failure of an hospital, they allowed him to lay there with a fever and high BP without given him proper treatment. How are you a care facility and allow someone to suffer just to run his insurance up. Took blood seven times and only gave us one result and when I asked the nurse she pulled up his chart after the fourth test and there were only the first results and even she said that was "strange". When LAB came back she stopped the lady from drawing asking for results and orders for all the lab work. (???) I asked the next shift about his labs, and the infection they claimed they were treating, NOTHING. I was told they were texting the NP to come speak to us but she never responded to them. How unprofessional and uncaring is that. He was given his sixth round of Hydralazine (10) which has done nothing for his BP. Finally at 9 am 9/9/26, day two of us at HCA with his BP in double three digits, he was given 50 mg of Losartan which helped a little but only took him to 161/92. There was no follow up after four hours. The time it took me to go to my Dr appointment in Spring. I called several times after I left and only person came in was the lab again (??) and we still haven't gotten any results from the last 8 draws. When I arrived back and entered into his room, he was sitting in the chair with a distress look saying the girl just took BP 191/120 and fever of 111 but she said she couldn't give him anything and she had to text the NP who never answered the last text about his labs and stool sample. He was hot and clammy at touch and said he was miserable. Seeing him like this, I requested that they unhook him and took him to a REAL hospital up 290, The Methodist. Within 15 minutes he had Clonidine and another medicine to help bring his BP down. The ER staff were very polite, professional and took the time to discuss the process and procedures with us. I wish I would have made this decision before EVER stepping foot into HCA hospital. The only reason I gave one star is because it was one nurse in that whole hospital that had integrity and when I asked her about his BP, she took one look and said he should have been given Clonidine. But by that time, I was not able to allow the unethical practices of the doctors and NP's before her to continue to play with his health any longer. This is a hospital where people go to seek help not to be used for their insurance and I felt that they played Russian Roulette with my spouse's life. They kept saying his BP was dangerously high and it could damage his organs but failed to treat him with ethical and professional care. Instead they played with his health and did barely minimal in order to prolong his stay and charge is insurance. If Methodist was not an option, I would rather go to Ben Taub before I ever go to a HCA facility again. I work in one of the largest healthcare systems in Harris County and I gave the benefit of the doubt when referred to HCA, but NEVER EVER again. All I saw was unethical practices, breach of HIPPA laws and my love one's health came second to people who took oaths to serve the needs of others in their illness. I guess ethical standards are not a required to practice at HCA Hospitals.

From the ER to being in my private room, a beautiful large room with an incredible picture window. I wanted to adopt all of my nurses and staff Be kind when you are in the hospital pay attention to what they are doing. They are run, ragged shorthanded, and never seem to stop running to take care of us. They do it with a smile on their face they find time for you even though they don't have any time. By the way, the food was incredible. I had the option to order different if I wanted to, but the everyday regular meal was so good. I never bothered to try the side menu. Be aware if there's any chance of you falling because of a medical issue, they are gonna watch you extra. Lol I thought they were kidding about not getting out of bed until I put my foot on the floor. My bathroom was about 3 feet away and yes, I had to fix a sock and I was going to try to get to the bathroom on my own. Next thing you know, I had red lights flashing, and a fire alarm sound a very loud one. They aren't kidding. They have to arm and disarm your bed before you can get out of it. It's for our safety of taken several bad falls before they weren't gonna let me do it on their watch. I felt like I was in a hotel. It was so nice even the wall color was pretty. I'm not happy with some of the management and some things that were done and the way they were handled. Remember to be your own ADVOCATE. That being said, though, remember your nurses and other stuff, including the people that deliver your food, I had some of the cheeriest and kindest people from that area as well. I had one young lady while I was still in the ER room come in one morning. She had a voice like a beautiful bird so nice to wake up to. Thank you is not enough to say to these great people. From her initial consultation to pre-op, the day of surgery, and even her post-op visits, she consistently felt cared for, safe, and fully informed. She was understandably nervous going into surgery, but the entire team took their time answering every question and making sure she was comfortable every step of the way. What stood out most to her was the professionalism and genuine bedside manner of everyone involved. It wasn't just about the procedure--it was about how they made her feel throughout the entire process. That kind of care is rare, and it made all the difference. It's been a few weeks since her surgery (mid-March), and she is still talking about how wonderful her experience was. That says everything. Huge kudos to Dr. Saucedo and his team for delivering not just excellent medical care, but an experience that truly put my mother at ease.

My wife had a malignant melanoma that needed prompt removal and her oncologist was able to get her surgery scheduled sooner than we had thought possible. As we were at the doctors office for an exam, she was able to get my wife in for the pre-op review and testing. We live about an hour away so this really helped as we would not need to do another trip over to The Woodlands, other than for the day of surgery. We arrived super early on the morning of surgery, the check in was easy and in no time my wife and I went back to the room where she would get ready. Everything at this hospital looks so new and clean, it really made us feel comfortable, even though my wife was there for surgery! I waited in the large surgery center waiting area, it was very comfortable and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. They have a piano in the lobby that plays remotely with no one at the keyboard, the music was so relaxing! After surgery, my wife was admitted to the hospital for overnight observation and we were able to leave the next day. She even felt the food was very good which says a lot as for most hospitals, meals are not usually well received. The nurses were so friendly and helpful and the room was quite large and spotlessly clean. I hope those reading this review never need to go have surgery but if you do, you should try to go here!
