Purchased 2 pairs of riding pants, a riding vest, a tote and a saddle pad...$300+. Let's face it, equestrian outfitting is expensive no matter where you shop. Still, they have a nice selection and the staff is SUPER helpful and friendly. Some of these places can be pretty snobbish just because they cater to the horsey crowd and many of those customers are obnoxious elitists too. Not so here. They will bend over backwards to find what you need and even advise on where you might find it inexpensively if they can't supply the item. I'm only taking away the one star because of the stuffiness and heat in the store. Some fans to move the air would have been great. I'm not big on air conditioning per se, however it's a concrete building they're in and it felt quite closed in. One ancient a/c unit was wheezing away in a far back window, but wasn't having much effect at all. The location is a bit off the beaten path. Whenever we visit, it seems out of business, but when you walk in, there's plenty of merchandise. I'd like to see some more signage and maybe some flowers in a planter, something to make the establishment more lively and welcoming from the exterior. It's too nice of a place to pass by!

I've experienced better."…read more Yesterday, a Saturday, I checked their website to see that they were open 'till 5 and made the drive from Arlington to Littleton to arrive around 3:20 only to have the door shut in our faces and be told, "I'm leaving early today." Granted it was a nice day to be riding one's motorcycle,but welcome to retail where you don't close the door on a customer well within normal business hours. Would I visit again? I'm not so stupid as to boycott if there were a good chance that they might have what I was looking for at a reasonable price. However, I'd never go again without calling first to be sure they'd be open and I recommend that you do the same. And some retailers wonder why so much business has moved to the Web? (Yes, I was able to complete my business elsewhere.)

Nancy knows my horse from our dealings over the years & has knowledgeable advice & friendly recommendations. Saddles, boots, clothing and accessories can also be found along with horse snacks, brushes, and shampoos. There's a comfy sitting area with a kids playing area for those that might not like to stand while a friend or family member shops. Service is super friendly and thorough! We went to Weathervane Tack shop after looking up a couple of places. My daughter read reviews for this place that sounded very nice and the distance was good (only 23 mins from Seekonk MA). We arrived and we're greeted by the owner. His name is Frank, he was very helpful in finding us what we needed and was also very kind to offer items that were reasonable for the amount of riding my daughter will be going for now. He also told us about his frequent visitor program. He made us a card that stays in the shop and after 6 trips to the shop he will give us a gift card with a total of 10% of the total purchases. My daughter and I had a great experience Frank has a very well stocked store with everything one would need to take care of their horses or ponies and even other animal needs as well. They gave me options and helped me find what I needed. The lovely lady helping me (I think her name was Brianna, Brielle .. something pretty) made me feel comfortable even though I was feeling pretty self conscious. My niece has been doing equestrian riding for a couple of years now, so she loves going to the Plaistow store when she comes for visits, to find riding clothes/gear and equipment for the horse she rides at her training centre. And the horse models - she always leaves with a couple of those. The staff are friendly and helpful. They don't get in your way if you just say you're looking around, but if you have questions they know their stuff. I did buy some polo wraps on sale from the website. Two of the products were great, but another came in a damaged package and actually looked like one of the four wraps had been removed, possibly used and then poorly rerolled. I called customer service. They apologized for the condition and immediately shipped out a replacement item. I took the bad item to the store, explained the situation and they were going to send it back to the warehouse. No problem whatsoever. If I didn't live close, I could have just used the return shipping label that came with my order. I would have been charged extra shipping. It was cheaper to drive there. ;)
