I have been visiting Stoney Point Ranch for about 25 years as a boarder & a visitor to hang out…read morewith the horses when I had none. It is a great place & a Chatsworth fixture. Please take the negative reviews with a huge grain of salt. In reading the negative reviews, I really wonder if those people know ANYTHING about horses. The horses are well taken care of at Stoney Point. I see one photo of a super skinny horse - not uncommon for a 35 year old horse. I see photos of a couple of wet corrals which is not uncommon at a stable of this size - horses drink a LOT of water & pee a LOT; if I saw photos of 20 wet corrals like those pictured, I would be concerned. One person said his horse lost 150# - some horses are not easy keepers and if an owner decides not to supplement their horse, then it is on them; maybe the horse needed its teeth floated and/or a worming which is again the owner's responsibility. Broken boards, broken pipes, wet corrals - horses BREAK things all the time. Some horses like to keep their nose in their automatic waterer to keep the water running & end up flooding their stalls/corrals. The top comment was saying the owner is a chain smoking hillbilly. Neither is true. Based on some of the comments, I don't even think some the negative reviewers were even at Stoney Point, but may have confused SP with another stable.

Pay your bills on time, don't gossip, follow the rules, be respectful and you'll have ZERO problems. Mgt has walked my gelding twice before I could get there when he was slightly colicing. I'm so grateful to have a real horse person watching out for our horse. I've also seen him catch loose horses for people, help people move tack from shed to shed, he's always helping out. On my 2nd horse there, year 2, very grateful to the owner. He's awesome to us. But... we follow the rules, are respectful and.. . Pay on time Yes, it's awesome here

Her posture was getting bad and we decided to have her try riding. My older daughter rode with Sheri and Duncan years ago and I remember how great they were. I called and talked to Sheri, told her everything going on and she said she would love to start my granddaughter. We started with the summer camp and now do weekly lessons. We can't believe the improvement in attitude, posture, priority and confidence. It feels good to go back after so many years and find the same integrity, love and care, plus the greatest groom in Southern CA. The facility is wonderful and more important than anything, everyone is great, kids, parents, trainers and neighbors. My granddaughter misses Summer Camp and is excited for next year. She learned how to completely groom her horse, even clean up her tack. She met a new friend and they got to ride together today. All I can say is thank you Edmonton Farms, Sheri, Duncan, little Cleo and Rachel, Jorge and the best pony ever, Penny. They have wonderful horses to ride, all well trained with great ground manners. If the highest score I could give is a 10, they would still get 100 from me.

He teaches with enthusiasm and is so encouraging. Throughout her lesson I can hear him yelling,"Excellent!!" We have had trainers that yelled and screamed and made her cry. Here she is encouraged and consequently looks forward to her lesson. So much so that we drive all the way from South Orange County to train here. Additionally, the horses that he has for her to ride are amazing! They are expensive, premium horses. Some trainers have lesson horses that are ancient or of low quality. We highly recommend Edmonton Farms. They specialize in teaching to the level of their students whether you are a beginner or an advanced rider, they will form a program for you.
