April makes horsemanship fun and exciting in a warm and safe environment. She keeps the kids engaged and excited while allowing them the opportunity to learn what the universe needs to teach them that day (patience, compassion, physical advancements). My kids started with vaulting and quickly learned to ride with balance and Grace. They love coming to this amazing property and just being present. I was extremely disappointed watching the poor handling of horses coming in from turn out on…read moremultiple occasions. Horses are brought in using a golf cart in groups of often three at a time. The horses aim to kick and bite each other and all the handlers do is yell at them. If that wasn't bad enough, I watched the lead stablehand lead a very gentle older mare into a stall and when she didn't go he smacked her with the lead rope on her face and she spooked and bashed her head on the overhead beam of the stall - he seemed less than concerned. When horses kick for dinner they throw brooms and other items at the front of the stalls. The stalls frequently smell of heavy ammonia. Horses are constantly escaping their turnouts. Running down fences, bolting out open gates and getting away from handlers with the golf cart. One poor filly even ran the fence and got in with another horse and was kicked, broke her leg and was euthanized. Horses will be horses but there are no changes being made. When these concerned were brought to the owner, she denied that her staff is hard on the horses and claimed her fencing was in working condition and safe. Boarder beware.

We were out of town for a while when the weather was hot, we got a call saying they suspected our mare was colicky, in our absence Kelly walked our mare and cooled her off until she felt better, then checked on her through the night. There have been numerous times that either her or Lisa have been available to help with an abscess or any number of injuries our horses may have managed to acquire. Top quality training is also available at GP- I have taken lessons from both Lisa and Kelly-I love them both!! For the time my husband I were there we felt like we were a part of one big family. Sadly we have had to move, but we take with us many fond and happy memories of our time at Greatful Pines.

We have gone on many trail rides, pony rides and even leased a horse for a year at a facility near Lake Stevens. Tina Wolfe has, by far, the best program to fit our needs. Tina is kind, patient and professional. Her lessons are either private or semiprivate and very affordable in comparison to other programs. The horses are well cared for, responsive, gentle and beautiful. The facility she is teaches at is quite, large, and DRY! It was seriously the BEST PARTY EVER!! The kids were kept busy the entire time, they toured the farm, played games, rode horses and had the best time. I have gotten so many compliments on the party. My daughter said it was her dream come true!! :) I mean what little girl doesn't dream of a horse back riding party!? Morgan, Jessica and the other girls there are so sweet and absolutely amazing!! The farm is beautiful and it is kept immaculate, you can tell that everyone there truly cares and loves what they do! We are now taking riding lessons there and LOVE the program. I had my horse in training with them for almost six months, never got more then a "good" when asked…read morehow my horse was doing ( serious lack of communication on their part)... Put my horse up for sale. Almost three weeks later he sold. Was so rude to the buyer who came to pick up the horse, wouldn't answer any questions they had about the horse. Had my horse up for sale in Feb ( told them, as well as asked them to help sell my horse, but again never did help like they said they would for a 10% cut ), paid for March as he wasn't sold yet. March 2nd he sold, the 3rd they came to pick him up. Wont refund any money I had paid for the month of March for training. Now, blocked me, wont return any of my emails about getting my belongings I have there, let a lone wont give me a copy of this "contract" that they are trying so hard to hold onto ( about refunding me some of March's board). PLEASE be very careful with dealing with these people. They will rip you off if the can. Your better to just stay away from them all together! They are what give horse people a bad name!!
