The second floor is family friendly and both floors boast beautiful water views. They often have live bands and it is always entertaining. The servers and staff are always very kind and friendly. On my most recent visit, I came with a large group and we were served by Ashley who did an amazing job! The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options. I did a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was great. I also tasted my sisters tacos and nachos which were excellent. We had a really nice time and I know we will be back. I do wish they served triple tail which is such a great fish and would make the namesake make sense. Maybe one day!! read more

I'm giving two stars because the food was not good, the bushwhacker was not a bushwhacked - tasted like a sweet chocolate drink, but not a good one!! Our appetizer came out wrong. Ordered Shrimp Nachos - literally had nachos (burnt), a few shrimp and cheese. None of the toppings. Our poor waitress was apologetic. She quickly went back to the kitchen to bring out the toppings so we could put them on top. I don't remember what anyone else ordered, but everyone had a complaint about the lack of flavor. Our waitress even said that if we ordered Royal Reds, to be sure to ask for extra seasoning on the side. I ordered a chicken sandwich and I was happy with it. I asked for a side salad instead of fries. They forgot the side salad. Again, the waitress noticed that right away and quickly went back to grab my salad. Our waitress was friendly, very quick and attentive. The ambiance was great. It was a great breeze overlooking the bay. I'm giving two stars for our waitress and ambiance. Ah, it's a tourist trap. If you want a couple draft beers and some music, then it's ok (I can get that anywhere). If you are wanting anything more, then go somewhere else. I could tell you all about how the first Quesadilla did not come out. I could even tell you how the second Quesadilla still did not come out. I of course did not pay for the food. Why waste my breath on the specific details. We had to leave and literally go down the street and eat Subway. WTF. It was not that busy, total management incompetence. We only got drinks and a snack here but thoroughly enjoyed it. The sign outside claimed to have "the best bushwacker on the gulf coast" so I naturally had to see if this was true. I have to say the bushwacker was one of the best I've had. We also ordered some fried pickles and for $8 it was so much food. The restaurant has a nice view over the bay, which makes it a cool place to go hang out and have a drink. If I am back in Bay St. Louis I would go back here. read more

COLD FOOD & NIGHTMARE OF A PLACE. Owners wife called her friend (big dude with big muscles eeek ) to come and scare us off after we complained about the food (note: manager stuck her food in the fish and said it is cold on the outside but still warm in the middle ?) SO we waited all night literally ALL night (guys were sweeping around us) for cold food? A Homeless shelter serves better food than this . Nah my friend not cool. No one ate . We had a belly full of drinks ... what are ya gonna do. Where was I.... My brother raves about the fried ribs and my husband has been dying to try them, we went last night and he was one happy man! Everyone at the table had them except me, I had the shrimp basket, which was left off the ticket. Fried pickles were over salted (they don't need salt) my sister in law had the queso and chips (also heavily salted). My shrimp basket showed up with apologies and overall I still give the place 4 stars because my husband loved the ribs so much and my SIL said they just come right off the bone. Nice dance floor on the 3rd floor with an outdoor lanai, veranda, walk around deck enough for the smokers in the group to enjoy their cigs without upsetting those who don't. It's also a great view and a good way to cool down after working yourself up on the dance floor! I've been here a couple times and always have enjoyed myself. Security is wonderful! They don't take poor patron behavior lightly and are quick to de-escalate any sign of inappropriate behavior. Drinks are well made, reasonable, friendly staff and I've yet to see a bad band. I only wish I could dance more. Due to back injuries I'm cautious about my attempts to dance. It takes a few tequilas to was my back pain enough to get on the floor. But, there are at least three more mature gentleman that frequent the establishment who are dancing fools ( stayed with the utmost respect) Guaranteed to oblige you if your partner is a barstool dancer. There was a day when I would give them a run for there money. Sadly, I admit that the cowboy out-danced me and I actually had to leave the floor. Security wouldn't let us in because she (daughter's friend) only had a picture of her driver's license on her phone. We weren't there to drink. Most restaurants id at the table if a drink is ordered. We only got drinks and appetizers here and it was really good. The bushwackers here are really good and I highly recommend them! We also got the fried pickles that were really good as well. My one complaint is that they only gave us a little bit of ranch for four people to share. Overall the experience was really good, and the place has a cool vibe to it. read more

Today was Second Saturday July in downtown Bay St. Louis, MS. Triple Tails was advertising that Beeracuda from Abita was now on tap! On top of that, as a Second Saturday special, they advertised their Beach Burger Meal for $10 (usually $14) and added their Thursday Steak Night Meal at $29.99 for two steak dinners. We jumped in the golf cart with friends and headed to Old Town, ready to enjoy a few brews and a good steak dinner. Since none of us had ever been to Triple Tails, we were pretty excited about trying a new place. The place didn't look open. Once we found the elevator and correct floor (2) we stepped out and walked into the bar/dining area. There were only three populated tables; they were not busy. There were three people behind the bar, but no one greeted us. So, we walked in, found a table, sat down, and waited. After 10-15 minutes I went in search of help at the bar. I was handed one menu and told that the waitresses do, indeed, come to the table. I grabbed an additional menu since there were four of us. We waited another 5-10 minutes for a waitress to arrive and take our drink orders. We each ordered a different beer. Much to my husbands chagrin, they did NOT have Beeracuda. They did have a gluten free Heineken and I ordered that. Our friends each ordered a different beer. After 10 or so minutes (and now there are only 2 other occupied tables) the waitress returns with my husband's beer, and a Dos Eqquis. I said that I couldn't drink the DE b/c I'm celiac. She says she made a mistake. It wasn't a big deal to me, but she seemed annoyed. She also told our friends that they didn't have the beers they wanted. At this point we'd been there almost 30 minutes and were not impressed. We inquired about the specials b/c we saw no signage or notices that there were any specials. She told us that there weren't any specials. I nicely told her that they were advertised this week on the Downtown Merchants Association FB page. She looked at me like I was an idiot and said, They didn't tell us about any specials." She asked what we wanted and the three of us that didn't have any drinks asked for water. While she was gone, I found the FB page advertising the specials. When she brought the water, I showed her the page. She started to react and said, "I could go and ask my boss, to which I replied, "That's okay. No big deal. I just wanted you to know I wasn't crazy." My husband asked for the check. She brought it, we paid, we left. First I will tell you that we are all nice people. We're retired, we're rarely in a hurry, and we appreciate good service. The restaurant was not crowded, at all. There were three people working the floor and bar, and three small groups of diners. The place was a little grungy, which can be a thing down here, but this was verging on dirty. Tables were not cleaned. The people who were working were literally standing around. We gave our waitress no reason to have an attitude. Maybe she'd had a bad day, and I'm sorry. This was her job and she was almost nasty to us. Had I been the waitress, I would have immediately contacted my boss about the specials. She didn't seem to care that a customer was showing her the advertisement. We can't tell you about the food because we left. We won't be returning to Triple Tails. We're all locals and we dine out at least twice a week. It would have been nice to add another fun establishment to our list. Tonight we walked across the street to Cuz's. She was very nice but just too busy. After receiving our meals we still hadn't gotten our fries. They came way after we ate. Good place to drink just don't expect to eat well or fast here! Disclaimer: This review is of this place as A BAR. I have eaten here once when they first opened, and I had the most delicious french dip sandwich I ever had in my life, but they have since gotten rid of that. I simply haven't taken the occasion to eat here. But as a BAR, I like this place a lot. When I'm here, the top floor is usually open, so that's where I hang out and drink a few. The bartenders are quick to take your order, and they have a few decent beers on tap. Fair prices, as well. I guess the only thing I don't like about this place is that they don't serve beer in glasses. Ah well. Can't win em all. But that view! That view is winning all the time. There's a little porch facing the bay all by itself, and then the wrap around porch facing the street and old town Bay St Louis is pleasant as well. NOTHING beats that back porch on a breezy sunny day with a live band playing and a beer in your hand. Nothing in Bay St Louis comes close to that. They tend to have afternoon bands on the weekends, especially during the summer and this place is also a great place to catch a football game. All around solid hangout with quick and friendly bartenders slinging a decent selection of drinks at reasonable prices. An absolute MUST when you're down in the old BSL. read more

We come to BSL very frequently and have stopped into Tripletails several times for drinks and views. We've ordered food a few times and while it's never been anything to write home about, it hasn't been terrible. We went in today to specifically have lunch. Wrong move. We ordered beers and lunch and over an hour later, every table in the bar had been turned and we never saw one crumb of food. When we asked to close out, we were given a ticket with food cost on it, which we said we weren't paying since we never saw so much as a tortilla chip. (Not to mention we had to go to the bar to try and get refills which was pointless.) After being told it wasn't anyone's fault that we hadn't been served, we left. First of all, the view is fantastic. If you're going for a drink and the view, perfect place. Other than that, the service was rather slow. We decided to start with nachos. Came with cheese and black beans and tomatoes. When it finally arrived, there were 4 dices of tomato, plenty of beans dumped in the middle and very little cheese. We told the waitress, asked if we might have a little more cheese since it was so sparse. She apologized and said sure. About 10 minutes later, she came back with it. Then happily charged us a additional $5 for it. 2 of my kids just wanted water to drink. They were brought little plastic cups with ice water. That's not the issue. The issue was they charged us $2 each for these and called it "bottled water". One of the worst places on the Mississippi Gulf Coast I've ever dined or had drinks. The food is awful, and service even worse. I spoke with the owner, she even had a worse attitude, and didn't seem to care if we ever came back. I don't know how they are still in business. What Worked: location Even Better If: -The po boy didn't look exactly like a slab of fish slapped onto bread. -The Bloody Mary had garnish (other than beans) and the waitstaff didn't look so confused when asked for olives. -A restaurant that is directly on the windy shore didn't use straws and other plastic items that are prone to flying into the bay. -All 4 teenagers/young kids working the floor and bar actually worked, rather than sitting at and behind the bar, eating with their hands and browsing on their phones, only to get up when the food was ready to be delivered or to get paid (without washing their hands first, at that). Very friendly staff! From the moment we walked in until we talked to the manager on our way out everyone was friendly. This is a great place right on the water. Portion size was just right and at a fair price. I had the red fish sandwich, my first time eating red fish. It was delicious. My wife had quesadillas and she loved them. Very good food, service was provided with a smile! Delivery of the Food was a little slow, but worth the wait! We ordered fried shrimp tacos off the menu and the special was fried ribs. It took about 35 minutes for food to be brought out. Wife's taco shrimp were excellent, hot, not 2 much coating with a nice spice mixture. Taco shell and trimmings were so so, only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The pork fried ribs were fantastic! Big meaty pork ribs, not greasy, hot and very filling. It was accompanied by a side of BBQ sauce that was tangy, spicy with a little sweet side to it. Combined with the rib it was spectacular. We shared a side of fries that were crispy with a creamy center and nicely spiced. After the wait for the food, I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was.
