I tried getting ahold of ANYONE from Blue heron MANY MANY times, emails, phone calls, I even DROVE to greencastle to see if I could find anyone at the business during business hours and the parking lot was empty and all doors were closed. I then took to social media to beg anyone for information of how to reach someone from the business to talk about the contract that my bride, (I am the coordinator of a wedding) had made with you all. Nothing... after well over a month of attempted communications in VARIOUS forms, I thought okay, maybe what was said to be via facebook was true and the business had stopped operations due to the death of the owner. I didn't throw a fit, though morally the business should have returned my brides security deposit....I frantically searched for and found a new caterer with very limited options this close to the wedding date. Fast forward to 5 day before the wedding. My bride received a email asking her to confirm details for Saturday including menu and times.... after not hearing from you for months and months! So I called the number on the email. Said we will no longer be needing their services and asked for the deposit back. Only to be met with a very rude man, Aaron, who stated "my family has been through a lot of shit, deposits are non refundable, bye" and HUNG UP ON ME. I highly, HIGHLY recommend not doing business with from scratch/blue heron catering as the entire situation was handled unbelievably unprofessionally. I do empathize with the family for their loss and hope they can get things back on track. Maybe without Aaron.

What was not ok was the day before the event they wanted a receipt for cupcakes they didn't make which they never said nor was in contract that we needed. They were suppose to meet me the day of the event at 11:00 and was over an hour late.

After my first Zoom meeting with Heather I felt a huge wave of relief. She not only pulled this off within two months of working with me, but truly took care of me by keeping everyone organized. I had some health issues leading up to my wedding and she really just took charge in the last 2 weeks while I recovered. I can't put into words the kind of relief it was knowing she was in charge and seeing my vision come to life better than my expectations. I truly look back on my day and loved every moment, and I owe it to her. She had to deal with some tough personalities as well and took it in stride while remaining pleasant and professional. Likewise, her resourcefulness and ability to draw from her network of vendors ensured that every aspect of our wedding was taken care of. It is abundantly clear that she truly cares about her clients and treats them as friends. I contacted Shamci last year, however our wedding date got postponed after a traumatic event. Throughout she followed up to see how I was doing, very caring and genuine like she was my aunt. She kept reinforcing positive energy throughout and reassured us that once our date is finalized I would be in great hands. From the initial consultation to before, during, and after our wedding I was in love. Shamci was so attentive to every detail along the way ensuring everything went smoothly and fun to work with. Shamci and her team tackled everything from our beautiful bridal suite, and planning all aspects of our wedding from A to Z. They provided full service and day of planning, all flower arrangements (bridal, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen boutonnieres, and parents corsages ), centerpieces, table card, sweetheart table, multiple ceremonies at the different locations, and not to mention pipe and drape which added a romantic touch to our "Sofreh" . Our "Sofreh" was one of the most beautiful features of our wedding, expressive of our personalities, it was absolutely magical. Further, having Mr. Saman at our "Sofreh" with his beautiful speach , explaining the history and traditions behind the traditional Iranian "Sofreh" with its meaning and connecting it to our story was unexpected and touched everyone. My husband and I loved working with Shamci, she was by our side from day one, the early morning hours leading up to our wedding day and early morning hours following our wedding. Shamci and her team were so warm, friendly, and very detail oriented. No two brides are the same either, she made our wedding so unique and a reflection of us. She was just as excited as we were and couldn't wait to witness our Big Day and made it like those only seen in fairy tales. Bottom line: you need Shamci by your side, if you think you can enjoy your wedding and plan it all by yourself.. well think twice. Being surrounded by family in the hotel food and beverage industry, I can vouch how critical it was to have Shamci and her team by our side.     I would never recommend this place to anyone! I would give it zero stars if I could…read more I contacted high peak on March 6th for my wedding on June 2nd, which was very laid back and just at my house. I emailed them and explained that I work crazy hours sometimes, so email is more effective than phone tag. We just wanted to rent a tent, some tables, and chairs. Sarah got back to me almost immediately with a quote and suggested a visit to our house to work out logistics. I gave Sarah my availability and was told she would look into it and get back to me. That was on March 19th. I heard nothing back from Sarah until May 4th, when I got an email asking if I still wanted a site visit. My RSVP deadline was May 5th, so I waited until I had my final head count and emailed her back with the numbers of tables and chairs we needed. She provided me with an updated quote and told me she did not have a phone number or a signed contract from me. Neither of which I was asked for in the month and a half I was waiting for a site visit. I explained to Sarah that I could get her a contract and deposit at any point, I just needed some better communication and for her to tell me what she needed from me. She appologized and sent me a new quote and the lease agreement and asked me to sign it and return it with payment. I sent my fiance with a check and he returned home with a reciept. Today, 7 days before my wedding I recieved a phone call from Sarah that High Peak could not provide me with a tent, tables, and chairs because I missed the deadline, which I was ever informed of, and they had no availability. We were told to come and pick up our check. When we got to High Peak and inquired about the deadline, we were told that there is an event in Carlisle the day of our wedding and that they didnt know how many tents they would need until last weekend, when our tent should have been reserved since March 6th. The entire time we were there, one of the guys was trying to work things out and make it work for us. He completely apologized while Sarah sat there, silent. The only time she spoke up was to tell us that we didn't have any communication because we didn't give her a phone number even though she had been emailing me for weeks. Somehow this was all MY fault. Before leaving, we come to realize that the check we provided them had already been cashed. The check was cashed before anyone checked availibity. The whole situation is very unprofessional and inconsiderate on their part . Luckily, we had already spoke with a tent rental place down the street who was going to get us taken care of. He will be visiting our house TODAY AFTER HOURS and making sure our wedding isn't a complete disaster due to Sarah. This company knew exactly who we were talking about when we said we had been screwed over last minute and was not surprised. He has clearly fixed mistakes for High Peak in the past!

We found him on Yelp and Weddingwire and asked if we could…read morewatch him DJ locally to see how he performs and he provided us details on the time and location. He has a very simple and efficient set up with lights and sound systems. What was really impressive for us were the music videos that he played that went with the music. Once we saw that and saw/heard his transitions we knew he was the DJ we wanted. We had an unusual theme for our wedding, we did a costume theme "Talk Nerdy to Me" and Paul was not only happy to work with us, but he also had some awesome ideas on how to truly make it our own. With the video screen package, he was able to do movie/you tube clips and a slide show. When it came to getting strange and unusual music, Paul was able to do it with no issues. We asked for quite a few songs that were not in his database including traditional Chinese and Estonian Country music and he was able to get it with no issues. His online planning system made it really easy for us to put our Ceremony and Reception plan together. All of my guests LOVED the music choices. Part of it was our doing in putting together a song list, and part of it was Paul reading the party and playing accordingly. He even accommodated my niece's request for the Hokie Pokie. Don't take my word for it, Weddings are not the gigs he does in the DC area. Watch him in action and see for yourself. I feel that if other businesses book him on a regular basis, he is probably a good choice for your wedding. I am really glad I acted on this assumption, and had a chance to work with Paul. He has my highest recommendations.

First of all, we only hired Paul…read moreabout a month beforehand because up until then, we thought my husband's friend would be able to DJ for us. At the last minute, he wasn't going to be able to get his equipment out to us in time so I found Paul and reached out to him. Paul told me he was available and met with us in person. He was reasonably priced and we couldn't have lucked out better for a last minute booking. Even though our friend couldn't DJ, Paul let him do all of the introductions which was really sweet. He even let our friend take the reigns and do a couple songs! Paul never felt like our friend was stepping on his toes and we really appreciated that he let us do that. Paul kept the party going from the beginning. I've had so many people since the end of our wedding telling me how great our DJ was. We had a weird mix of twenty somethings and sixty somethings with not much in between. Even still, Paul was able to judge the crowd and keep people dancing. I don't think there was a second all night long that people weren't all over the dance floor! His online portal is very straight forward and easy to use. I was able to put in many details and everything we wanted to hear was played at our wedding. Paul is also not one of those DJs that keeps interrupting songs to talk. He knew when it was appropriate to interject and when it wasn't. My husband commented that this was one of his favorite things about Paul: his professionalism on and off the dance floor. Definitely consider Paul Surreal Entertainment for your next event - you won't regret it!
