I met the owner/manager Nancy seeking a MBA level tutor. She insisted I pay nearly $5000 to retain this tutor and despite my better judgement to hire someone hourly, I paid that amount. She assured me numerous times that if I disliked anything, had any issues she would issue a refund immediately. It was these false promises that swayed my judgement. After paying that amount, I was reaching out to them, they did not call me. After numerous calls and emails a tutor was still not assigned to me. When they finally did respond they said the tutor was only available once a week on Saturdays 9 am-11am. How would this work with upcoming assignments and finals? When I was finally assigned a tutor I was told after the first and only session he was headed abroad to China? I immediately requested a refund as that is their only MBA level tutor and they have no other alternatives. I have been fighting with them since May to get my money back. Nancy has lied to my face saying she processed a refund. My bank and I have not received a dollar. Please do not be fooled by the google reviews. I have to take them to court to get my money back.

We benefited from solid gains in SAT scores too. However, we are very disappointed in the current team of young women who co-manage the interface with parents and tutoring for our kids. Major communication shortfalls / mistakes over and over again, that have a big impact on us. I receive very infrequent feedback, compared to previous management, on the accurate progress of my child. And after thousands of dollars spent, her SAT text scores have not increased. Disaster! In contrast we saw solid results increases for our other kids. Aside from poor management and communication the young and inexperienced management team has no clue on how to structure students' learning plan and schedule. Other problems that could be easily addressed are: 1. tutoring classes being full and hence limiting our ability to increase tutoring around SAT testing season (late Feb through Early June) to offer tutoring on Fridays or Sunday during the these high testing periods. 2. C2's SAT mock tests for digital have been problematic. Perhaps this is due to it being transition year, but their questions are not reflective with what the kids will be tested on. This is both frustrating for kids and it keeps you in the dark on SAT scoring feedback. 3. Finally, we also bought more sessions hoping to get support on AP classes, but since there is not enough kids doing this those tutoring topics (like NSL, etc), sessions are combined with up to 3 additional kids studying something else. Learningwise this is completely ineffective for our daughter. To top it all off instead of getting regular reports on the number of hours used during the year we got a last minute warning that we only have 4 hours left, one months before the the SAT exam. The offered at 30% discount but only if you buy another huge bundle of hours for $7k. If we had to do it again we would have gone somewhere else. In the end, we will be stuck having paid $8-9k for negligible scores improvement.

They'll kindly greet you with a hospitable demeanor to set you at ease (which is exactly what right before a big exam to calm the nerves). The facility is located on the fifth floor (turn right as you exit the elevators and go straight to the end of the hall) in a tall greyish glass building that sits next to one that looks identical to it. It is very clean, tidy, new, quiet, and really all you can expect from a testing center minus a candy bowl. They have a coat rack for you to hang your jacket on during the exam and stringent security procedures. You'll be assigned a locker, asked to turn your cell phone completely off and all your belongings including watches, large bracelets, purses, scarves, etc. will go into the locker which you won't have access to during the exam. Just before you enter the exam room you'll be offered tissues, ear plugs, and the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the test. Once in the test room which is kept very quiet, each person is seated in an assigned booth with a firm, but comfortable and adjustable chair (for those of you whose exams last several hours) as well as sound reducing head phones (complete with their own sanitation coverings), and a laminated wet-erase card to use if you need to write anything down. For the NCLEX you can take as many breaks as you'd like, but the clock will keep running and you'll have to show your ID and do a simple palm scan each time you exit and enter. The parking garage staff was very rude. The Pearson Staff was rude & basically put me under a lot of stress before my exam. I had to rush to find parking that was still questionable about my car being towed. The staff had no patience for someone who is coming to take an exam. They did not try to make things easier & stress free. Also, me & multiple test takers were locked out from the main door for a few minutes which also caused stress on us. I'm so upset this happened and I hope you all do better! The woman who walked me into my exam was the only person who treated me like a human being! Please if you are going to take a license exam..... chose another location so that you can go into your exam with a stress free and clear mind!

I…read morespent over nine months at Al Bayt al Arabi (five hours a day, Monday through Friday), and used their methods to move from the 1+ to the 3 level on the standard U.S. Government language assessment exam. Another student I overlapped with during this time had a nearly identical experience. I have previously studied Arabic full-time at the Foreign Service Institute and two other private language school in DC, and nowhere other than Al Bayt Al Arabi did I find instructors who worked harder than students (if you have any experience in full-time language training, you know how crazy that statement is). The two primary instructors know how provide real-world Arabic study that is still directly applicable to the quirks of government language assessment tests...no easy feat. The primary instructor at Al Bayt Al Arabi has spent decades as an Arabic instructor for both the U.S. Government and private institutions, and he takes those years of experience to (incredibly) create customized audio and visual study material for the student based on his or her level and specific needs and goals. This material then becomes available for independent study outside of class or for use while commuting to class. I've never even heard of another Arabic instructor in the DC area taking the time to do that. The instructors are flexible with study hours and are willing to utilize any mix of in-person or Skype sessions (so you can continue to have class while travelling). I was initially wary of the commute to class, but the drive for me was worth the quality of instruction (plus the aforementioned audio material created for study during the commute). Learning a language like Arabic is a daunting undertaking that you will likely only do once in your life. If you're willing to make the investment, you might as well do it right with instructors like those at Al Bayt Al Arabi. I began at Al Bayt Al Arabi with some Arabic language experience and experience in the Arab world, so I can't speak for a student starting from zero, but I know that diplomatic, corporate, and media headquarters across the Arab world are stocked with success stories from the two primary instructors at Al Bayt Al Arabi...everywhere I go in the professional Arab world I keep running into people that have studied Arabic under these instructors.

There is nothing open. You can't get a license without completing the 6 hours of instruction, but it's impossible to do. We've been on a waiting list for months and have yet to get an appointment. I wonder if I'm going to have to file suit against them since they can't complete their end of the agreement.
