Trojan Professional Services is a win-win for any dental practice. Yes, there may have been modifications over the years with Trojan Professional Services, but I'm sure they've needed to make changes due to the ever-evolving world of dental insurance. We all know how it is to deal with insurance carriers. Trojan Professional Services simplifies tasks for any team especially when you're able to incorporate their service with your practice management software saving on labor costs. Many years ago I timed these calls and on average it was at minimum 20 minutes per insurance carrier. Wasted time IMO. For the services they offer, it's much less expensive to use Trojan as a tool for your team, than having an employee on the telephone making these insurance companies calls. Time your employees can be spent calling patients to schedule their needed treatment! Trojan's printout of benefits is ideal for marketing purposes - your new patients will think you're on top of it with all the information you have pertaining to their benefits (give your patient a printed copy of these benefits!). Not only does Trojan Professional Service offer insurance verification and eligibility they also offer a collection service. There's no reason to turn a patient over to a traditional collection agency again and give up 40% to 60% of your patient balance - patient's payment goes directly to you, the practice. this company spams phone numbers, every couple of months they call to try to sell their services, and if you even so slightly mention you're not interested they hang up, call back and hang up again. they dont even bother to say thank you for your time, goodbye. they hide their phone number so you cannot call back. very unprofessional. read more

I have been working in the dental field for over 8years now and I can not believe I lived without Trojan. The time that I have wasted on the phone to request insurance info and / or to speak to a representative is pretty sad! But on the other hand, this year, I was introduced to Trojan and it's done nothing but save me time and give me the most accurate information for my patients. And even if the info is not available with a click of a button most of the info will be available. Disappointing service. Monthly fee keeps going up but service is lacking. 20-40 minutes of call time. They try to push their new features but how do you expect a provider who has been with you for 12 years to stay with you when the call time wait is 50 minutes right now. They have a product that can't jive with Dentrix and put all the blame on Dentrix when in reality they should be able to troubleshoot their own products. Shame on you Trojan. Trojan is not the same anymore! Do not do it! as someone else said "We are being charged to do Trojan's job" and any extra information you ask for you get charge for it. You can not cancel your agreement till you paid for full six month and there is no way out of it and that beside the big sum that you have to pay upfront. I love Trojan's eligibility services! It allows my daily routine of verifying patients' benefits to be completed quickly and effectively, therefore giving me more time to get my other tasks done. I use the Trojan Eligibility Request to enter all the patients for the next day and submit them all at once. The representatives are great when you call in. They can find any plan for you; if it's not in their system they research it and send it back to you. read more

If they don't have the up-to-date and relevant information you need for insurance reimbursement, the employees are always quick to send what you need. It is unbelievable!!!!! We are being charged to do Trojan's job. We pay for the service of having them do data collection. They are in turn charging us to whaat used to be looked at as a favor of informing them of what plans are deficient from their data base. Imagine this scenario, if we don't call in with these requests anymore, either their database will become useless or they will need to actually earn our busines. After decades of using this service, I can say that I am amazed at this practice of double dipping. read more

We LOVE Trojan professional, true you can call the insurance companies and wait online forever to get through the automated responses before getting to a low paying customer service rep and then get the information, but our office is super busy and doesn't have time. Trojan offers a data base of general benefits of plans all over the country, and with one or two clicks imports the information into your software. They also have other services, like registering you with all the companies so you can review "real time" benefits. For the office and business owner that knows time is money, you cannot live without them! read more

I confirm Max W's review. Their fee structure now punishes subscribers who actually is trying to help them. If we point out to them that there is a hole in their database and advise them to update it, we get charge an additional fee! We explained to them why we think the fees are unfairly punishing the subscribers who is actually helping them, but they just kept repeating their sales scripts, i.e. benefits of their services. I do like their services, but it would be more fair if they just raise their general fee for everyone. Updated July 2016: Just changed my review upwards to 4 stars. Trojan is a great tool for researching benefits. Patients often have no idea who their carrier is & I like having a resource to turn to. I use the eligibility request occasionally. It's perfect when we need to check eligibility ASAP. I will agree with some of the other comments about database updates. Once or twice I've tried to pass on group updates & was told that there would be a charge to do so. This was very puzzling, as having current info will only help the service be more effective. About a week or so ago, the CEO of Trojan (Mark D.) gave my office a call. He has been randomly surveying offices that use the program. I was able to relay this experience to him. My suggestion was to add an option where people can post info updates. I appreciated Mark's call & his interest in user opinions. (Get your ideas ready, in case he calls you!) Hopefully, this will contribute to an enhanced user experience. read more

I am not lying when I say Trojan Benefit Service's is truly a benefit to this practice. I'd be lost without it! It has freed me of countless hours on the phone with insurance companies and their machines. A new patient shows up and I immediately have all their companies information and insurance uploaded in seconds. If by chance, it has not been entered in the Trojan database, (which is rare), I simply fax or email my request for it to be added. We have used Trojan for over 25 years. I was a Dentrix trainer and encouraged the offices to use Trojan. So many offices do not understand the benefits of Trojan. It works seamless with Dentrix. This used to be a valuable service, however since mid 2012 they have changed their fee structure. Now they charge for access to their basic database AND charge you an additional $1 per eligibility request you make. Keep in mind that usually when my staff calls for a benefits request, its due to the fact that it's not in your database. So aren't we doing you a favor in pointing out deficiencies in your database (which we are already paying for)? $1 doesn't sound much, but isn't this your field of expertise? This year something has happened to a great company. The updates for ins companies used to be within 48 - 72 hrs to be able to load into our computer, now 2-1/2 months and waiting. I need the ins inputted so I can bill for preauths and for claims which equals money for me. Plus, I am being charged extra for giving them my pts name to update a grp while another dental office can sit back and reap the rewards of not calling for an update while I did. Absolutely ridiculous! Something needs to change ASAP! read more

Watch out for this company!!! Went to renew my contract ,they increased the yearly fee and are now charging $6 per support phone call. If we are calling for support it is because Trojan does not already have the insurance plan in their system.Trojan has made a bad business choice with this one. Don't waste your money on this service, its expensive and not worth it at all. They claim to find out benefits for you and then never follow through. Most the time the current plans in Trojan are not current so you end up calling the Ins Co yourself to get the benefits. I've been using them for over 25 yrs and I am ready to cancel. We use the benefit service all the time. It helps when your patients call and they have their insurance information. I can look it up with their employer info. Also, when i need quick benefits for a patients co-pay, i can look it up through the benefit service instead of listening to an automated machine for 10 minutes. I use Trojan as often as my regular dental software. read more
