Now that I am in my final year at Middlebury, I have been convinced to hop onto the plant craze by my fellow First@Midd co-leaders, Alyssa and Itzel. They came here with me to buy plants because it's so close by (with a car) and there are so many options here. I guess another caveat to my prior situation is that I don't have a car nor did I have friends with consistent access to a car, not until this year that is. Now things have changed, and I have car-owner friends! The lady working here, Jeannie, is so sweet and helpful. She has two sons in college that also needed plants for their dorm rooms too. Relatable! She answered our questions so gracefully and humorously to boot. My questions included: "Which is the best plant for a new plant parent?" and "How much do I need to water this?" I'm kind of new to this plant parenting business, but also not really (I've killed too many indoor plants too many ways). I bought a spider aloe (the easiest succulent of the ones I picked out), a moss, and two more succulents (one for each of my suite mates to match my aloe). Inspired by Itzel's "I want a rainforest in my room," so too do I want my suite to be full of lush, green life, breathing oxygen into our lives. In the mean time, the plants here are a good place to start your plant collection. Indoor and outdoor plants, they got them here. I do wonder though what happens to their business during the dead of winter.

We took her to Horseford and a wonderful gentleman took her around to view different options. She chose 4 trees with their support and we arranged for delivery and planting in Plattsburgh NY. The team of Tucker, Ethan, Colleen and one other terrific guy (I didn't get his name as he was working hard) planted the trees and asked each time if we were pleased with the placement, gave us care instructions and cleaned up every inch of space they worked on. They have a vast variety of different breweries to pick from. Most of them are in the East or East Coast in which they have provided good coverage for me in that part of the country. By selecting what options you want online for beer they are then able to mail it to you. And for being on the other side of the country from where I am the shipping is fast! In the past sometimes they put a freebie beer in my shipment as well. Always great customer service as they reach out promptly if they have any questions with my orders. Of course be mindful that you need to live in a state that accepts alcoholic beverages in the mail. If you live by this business it looks like you are in for an additional treat with the plants, flowers and other nursery and gardening items that they have to offer. This is such a cute little shop that has pretty much everything all in one. They have amazing little shop filled with knick knacks, like Christmas decorations, from jewelry, homemade decorations and a small sections of a miniature supermarket and a delicious homemade restaurant. I hadn't started anything and sure as hell didn't give it just 3 stars! That being said, let us begin! Downtown Burlington! What a very unique, wonderful little area. Full of restaurants, name brand stores, bars, quaint little shops like this one, a wide open area lined with stores that gives off very Ithaca Commons vibes. The Commons back in the day were the shiiiiiiiit! Sadly nowadays...it's too commercialized. Burlington, VT tho...not so much. I get they are homeless, but wow! For a tiny city like Burlington...it's kinda mind blowing how many homeless they have all over the downtown area. What a (and I never use this word .. like ever lol but..) what a charming little store. Little bit of everything in there. It's the type of store that tourists absolutely love. Although, I came close to buying a few things in these little stores. My brother and I would see something and be like "let's check the others to see if the prices are any cheaper" They. were, not. Haha! If you saw a very cool Stowe or Burlington t-shirt in one store for $33 ... best beweave..it's $33 in the next one. These stores make their money regardless of cheap fks like myself...and I'm glad they do, Stores like Home & Garden Vermont add so much of that amazing magic that is felt throughout the downtown area. They pay close attention to details in Home & Garden Vermont. They know exactly where to place everything for maximum exposure. Their front windows are even very homey to look at for the "window shoppers" What a great little shop. This was my first time ever in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, too! I know this will not be my first and last time in Vermont. Autumn on the east coast is something that is like no other. As a photographer, VT is like a dream come true during Autumn.
