The team of Tucker, Ethan, Colleen and one other terrific guy (I didn't get his name as he was working hard) planted the trees and asked each time if we were pleased with the placement, gave us care instructions and cleaned up every inch of space they worked on. I brought a couple lists of plants that were known to attract pollinators in my native state of California, and tried to ask the owner if he could recommend any VT natives from similar families (i.e. native penstemon, asters, etc.). He became infuriated during the conversation, at which point he seemed to snap and began screaming at me. When I attempted to tell him I felt like he was attacking me verbally, he responded with "I am attacking you". My partner and I left immediately, and will never return. Beautiful garden, but awful, inexcusable behavior by the owner. As a woman, I have never been more deeply offended or frightened by the actions of a total stranger. I left feeling completely violated and disrespected.
