Honestly I wanted to give it a good review because it does taste good. Although i have my suspicions that there's added sugar the taste was good. My biggest complaint coming from an alkaline raw vegan, and someone who do go around manhattan to buy fruit bowls from different companies etc is the size I was served. They serve you in a big fruit bowl container just so you can receive if you lucky 6 spoons worth of acai for $14.10. I've bought fruit bowl for $11 just as good 2 blocks from this place and it's filled all the way to the top. this was very disappointing and felt like a scam for your money. my fave spot, have been coming here since 2019! Moved out of the city for a few years then back and they still are my fave açaí bowl in the city. The tumeric latte is also pretty good - a very tasty and fresh, healthy shop! My go to whenever I'm craving açaí. The açaí stays super frozen and never turns into "açaí soup" and the ingredients taste fresh. The staff is always more than helpful and sweet, and seem to really care about their community. I love chilling with a book or some work and seeing people come and go and all the wholesome interactions! Had the Açaí of the Tiger and thought it was a very mediocre/not the best bowl. The base was very hard/still frozen - traditional bowl bases shouldn't be as hard and frozen. Granola and Coconut Flake quality wasn't the best - they were super sweet and candy-like. Not the best. That being said, I think prices reflect the quality. Reviews won't do this place Justice!!! I'm shocked to see how this place have so little reviews. I'm saddened that I'll only have a few more days left in NYC to enjoy Tropic Berry Cafe, but I'm making it count!!! Two times within a week and I plan on coming again soon! First of all, I have been to many açaí places from Bali, Hawaii, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney, Greece, etc. Tropic Berry is one of the first places where I really enjoyed the açaí itself. With a single bite, you can taste how natural, flavorful, and fresh the açaí is. I'm surprised that they shipped all this from Brazil too. If you are in town or a NY resident, I strongly suggest you make you way down to tropic berry and get their most popular bowl. The açaí is a must try. The owner is super nice, and friendly too. They also have banana and coconut as well as Pitya. Just remember they always run out of mango. So call ahead. I went there twice when I was in the neighborhood and they was out of mango. The menu variety is excellent, and the service is thoughtful and exceptional. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars and not one is because the lady behind the counter was very kind, this açaí bowl was the most expensive one I've ever paid for at $16 dollars and was atrocious, a third of it was coconut flakes which is usually a highlight but these were so thick and stale I ended up having to pick them out leaving me with so much work and a barely edible portion of the bowl.
