Visited Empanadas recently for some takeout. We requested four entrees to go. Upon arrival, the…read morefood was ready. I drove it home and we dove in. The food was still warm and tasty. I requested garlic shrimp mofongo, which included lettuce and tomato. My wife requested pulled pork mofongo, and my son chicken mofongo. The mofongo was good. The garlic shrimp sauce was very tasty and the shrimp were great. We also had some tostones, which were thin, but very tasty. The portions were large and the meal was very filling. Good food, good service.

I ordered the pork and fried plantain twice (carne frita y tostones). They're pretty tasty. What makes it special is the very nice cashier that has always taken our order. I know they opened a few months ago and I am sure they will keep getting better. My one piece of advice is the following. When I first walked in all you can see is their fritters in the case (empanadas, I call them pastellillos, papa rellena (meat filled potato balls) and alcapuria. That's all I thought they had and I almost walked out, turned around and decided to try. As I was ordering my husband found one single piece a paper with menu. They had so much more to offer. So hopefully they can get large colorful images of their food and prices and have it fill their side wall. Other than that, Kuddos to this small business. Let's keep them open.

My husband and I had lunch at Tropical Bay Latin Cuisine on Friday and it was fantastic! We each…read moreordered mojitos, he had the lime and I had the passion fruit and both were absolutely excellent and so refreshing. For food, we shared two appetizers and honestly could have made a meal out of them. The Dominican Flag was incredible: crispy fried plantains, perfectly melty fried cheese, Dominican salami and smoky longaniza, all topped with pickled red onions that added the perfect zing. Every bite was packed with flavor and felt like true comfort food. We also loved the Loaded Yuca Balls; crispy golden yuca stuffed with cheese and topped with roasted pineapple, jalapeños, sour cream, and bacon. The combination of sweet, spicy, cheesy, and savory was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and did a great job throughout our meal. I ordered the Garlic Chimichurri Shrimp. While the shrimp was cooked well, it had a pretty fishy taste that just wasn't for me, and I wasn't a fan of the cilantro aioli. Several people in our group really liked the pineapple dressing, though, so I'd definitely give that a try if I went back. Next time, I'd order a different entrée because there were several other dishes that looked delicious. The only thing that felt a little off was when we first walked in. The gentleman at the front just stared at us without greeting or acknowledging us, which was a bit intimidating. It wasn't a huge deal, but a simple "Hi, we'll be with you in a moment" would have made for a warmer first impression. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd definitely return to try something different on the menu. I also had the flan, which was pretty good and the Tropical Bay House which was tasty! ,
