He gave me more volume around the middle part of my hair and thinned out all the ends, it literally looks like a mullet. Not the style that I'm going for. I've tried to make it straight with a straightening iron and it still looks like €hit. I've had bad haircuts in the past, but this place is to a whole new level, it's so horrible that I'm actually writing another updated review. To say that I'm upset is an understatement. The hair even looks like crap in a ponytail. And yes sure I'll grow it back, but it sure will take at least another 6 months to do so. I asked for single process color and a bang trim. Ming was my stylist and instantly understood what color I was going for, and showed me some color samples as well. Ming and an assistant worked super efficiently, especially given that I have super thick hair. Shoutout to the woman who washed my hair too, it's not uncommon for me to leave other salons with residual soap/dye because my hair is so thick, but she washed it SO thoroughly and it felt great too! I also have to specifically mention the incredible blowout that Ming did so quickly, I got compliments on my hair later that day! He also trimmed my bangs meticulously. The final result was exactly what I was hoping for. The salon is clean and mostly no-frills, but full of stylists who all seem to be excellent at what they do, which is my type of place! You can…read moretext the number on their website if you have any questions, and they're super helpful and quick to respond! The color ended up turning out super similar to the picture I showed. Moses also warned me that red can fall out pretty quickly and would need to be touched up every few month - I already knew this from previous experience, but definitely great that he gave a heads up for people who might not know! Throughout the process, Moses explained how he was cutting my hair and took into account how I wanted a low maintenance haircut as well. Overall experience was also relatively quick - under 3 hours for cut and dye (although a part of my hair was already lightened from a previous dye so could take longer with fully virgin black hair). It was $220 total before tip ($160 for dye and $60 for cut - initial quoted price on their website starts from $120 for dye and $70 for cut), which is a pretty good price for a full dye and cut in NYC especially considering the length of my hair. Moses can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English! Definitely recommend coming here for all your haircut and dye needs :)
