I would give zero stars if I could. My daughter scheduled both a manicure and pedicure in advance, so there should have been no confusion about the services she was booked for. During her appointment, the technician doing her pedicure apparently forgot that she was also scheduled for a manicure. When he realized it, he became visibly frustrated, started working on her nails himself, and then abruptly pushed her off to another employee. Unfortunately, the service only got worse from there. The manicure was rushed, sloppy, and unprofessional. The polish application is uneven, messy around the edges, and looks nothing like what I would expect from a professional salon. Even more concerning, multiple fingers were cut during the process, causing bleeding around the cuticles. A manicure should never leave a customer bleeding. The lack of care and attention to detail was shocking. Looking at her nails afterward, it was clear that proper cuticle care and polish application techniques were not followed. Extremely disorganized and careless from start to finish. Between the scheduling mix-up, the technician's attitude, being passed from one person to another, the poor quality of the manicure, and the cuts around her nails. What makes this even more upsetting is that my daughter rarely gets her nails done and was excited to have them done for our Hawaiian vacation. Instead of leaving with a positive experience, she left with sore, bleeding fingers. I only wish I had been there to stand up for her and address the situation in the moment. Great nail colors to pick from (I love gel pedicures). Love that I can get in day of if I schedule a few hours in advance (I got weekdays during the lunch hour usually and once on a weekend). The nails turned out super cute, but that wasn't the issue. After arriving for my appointment, I was turned down for being 7 minutes late. I was told that she had already called someone else and had them there since I was late. I don't understand how she was able to call someone in and have them drive there that fast when I was only 7 minutes late. She looked really confused when I walked in so i'm assuming she forgot about my appointment and was trying to cover that up. I was told that I had to wait until she got done with the lady's nails until she could do mine. After waiting over 30 minutes, I asked someone working in the salon how much longer I would have to wait. I was told that it would be soon. I waited another 15 minutes and was finally taken to get my nails done. I don't think I will be going back after that experience. It's not worth it read more

If u go to a nail salon for a full set of nails and a hour later the gentleman hasn't finished yet.. and he gets offended by ur reply to his question of what he can fix.. making comments like I'm not perfect or I not done yet all I said was the one nail was thick it was on one side ... By the time he gets done "shaping" them their still bulky and uneven. He sat there with his Bluetooth headphones on listen to music rather than to what I was saying. Between the flys and the bad choice of TV in the background I was threw. If I wanted it to look like I did them myself I would have done so but I promise I would not look like I had man hands when I finish. I think communication is at fault here but none the less I paid 55 to end with ugly unfinished nails that took over an hour to get. read more

I was a walk in and didn't have to wait long. I had liquid gel and they call theirs liquid but it was a powder. I had a fill. It was quick and they did a good job. The price was right too. I will go back. read more

I have been going to Tropical Beauty Salon every three to four weeks for over a year now and I have never been disappointed! They are friendly, my acrylic tip nails are smooth, strong, thin.... and I like the massage chair when getting a pedicure. They take plenty of time and use warm stones during the pedicure too...It is a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it! read more

I went here about a month ago for a pedi and they did a good job. I went here yesterday and it was ok but I could have painted my toes better, I think she got in a hurry as there were people waiting. My daughter got her nails painted for free while we were getting our toes done and the owners daughter who is 11 did a really good job. This place has potential, it's super clean, they are really friendly and the price is pretty good she just needs to slow down a bit, if I lived here I would tell her the next time but as I don't I hope someone else does. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Here are my thoughts. The Bad: - had to wait over 20mins despite having an appointment. - she seemed rushed and left me with a lot to clean up around my cuticles and underneath my nails. - I got a full set of acrylics. She could have filed them down much more. They are probably the thickest set I have had. I definitely prefer a more natural look. - they charge you more if you use a credit/debit card. Pay in cash for a cheaper rate. The Good: - it was very easy to get an appointment the same day on a weekend. - despite not really liking my nails very much, she did the most awesome job on my eyebrows. Definitely the best brow wax / clean up I have ever had. - she was attentive and kind and didn't try to upsell me on other salon options. I will certainly return for eyebrows and probably give her another chance with nails down the road. I have a feeling she probably does better nail work if she is less rushed. UPDATE: I went in today to have my eyebrows done again by her. The same woman (owner I believe) did them. She burned my brow area and upper eyelid! Now I look like someone punched me with the swelling and a blister is forming. Needless to say, she's lost any business from me. I tried to give her another chance but I'm over it. read more

I love this salon!! I won't go to any other salon. Kim, who is the owner is amazing! I get my nails, feet, brows and even my eye lash extensions done. I have been going to Tropical Nail Salon in Lewiston, ID for about 3/4 years now. They always do an amazing job on my pedi's and mani's. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the brow waxing. Everyone is so kind, patient and caring. What i like about Tropical Nail Salon is that you can always walk in and they will try to get you in as soon as possible. My nails and toes look great so for looks I give it 5 stars. It's more expensive than any place I've gone at home so for the price for what you get I give it 2 stars. $68 for a pedicure and shellac manicure. At home I pay around $55 and I live in a more expensive area. The lady was very nice. I too notice they don't really do everything. Inconsistencies. Good hot stone massage but they don't really scrub the bottom of your feet or file your nails all even. But for not knowing where to go my nails and toes do look nice so I'm glad I came. read more

I had my acrylic nails filled, and I am disappointed. I had to wait 25 mins after I scheduled an apt a week in advance. I was optimistic because she was very fast and seemed efficient, but my nails are very bumpy because she didn't file after she filled, the paint is very sloppy, and she but all my nails shorter at an angle. She complained the whole time about her personal life...THE. WHOLE. TIME! Also, she charges a $1 fee for debit/credit card use. Will not be going back. read more

Went in without appointment on a Saturday for mani pedi...geI on both...so fast and totally dry when you leave. Which is great in the winter when you need to wear shoes. love the atmosphere and the service. The hot stone massage during the pedicure is very nice. I did not like my nail color after coming home and it was easy to get that changed for a reasonable price. Massage chairs are in good working order and again the atmosphere is not rushed or chaotic...very peaceful. I will be back. read more

I think they did a good job technically, but part of the reason I go to salons is for the social experience. They have a tendency to speak to each other in Vietnamese? and that is unnerving. I always experienced being rushed out of there. If you are in a hurry and want to bury your nose in a magazine this is perfect for you, but if you want to relax and enjoy the experience then not so much. read more
