The floors were disgusting. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and the lock was broken on the door. While the staff was kind, they were playing around, making this more of a "fun" event, rather than work. Being one of the only people in there, they forgot to make my food, and had to be reminded. Not worth the visit if you're in a hurry, and care about sanitation. read more

The kid working the counter today was so utterly annoying. My order took 10 minutes to be taken and it could've taken 2. He kept telling me they were out of stuff to be funny but when your telling me your out of everything and your not I find that extremely annoying and rude. I'm a regular at Tropical Smoothie and always get the White Chocolate cranberry truffle smoothie. Well I ordered one today and tried it before I left. It didn't taste right, I told the employee it didn't taste right( kinda weak). She proceeded in a very rude tone informed me she made it correctly and pulled out the recipe card and said here is the recipe. I told her I only order this drink and it's not right. It was very bitter tasting. I come to the conclusion she didn't put in the white chocolate. The next time I'm in the establishment I will bring it to the managers attention. read more

First time trying this place out and I wasn't overly impressed. I got a wrap I couldn't finish. It was, frankly, pretty bland. And the dressing used was runny and caused it to get that weird sogginess. The Detox thing I got I have no previous comparison to. It was very different, and I would get it again. I truly hope the owner sees this. Every other time I visit this establishment, they are out of Açaí. This is inexcusable. How do you consistently not keep good inventory??? I'm a business owner as well and if I make 1 mistake and Miss 1 sale, I'm upset and make an immediate correction. I've come in this location on 4 different occasions in the last 2 months and they've given me the same nonchalant excuse. Also, I've interrupted conversations many times between employees. They don't have a sense of urgency to serve the customer. Lastly, they have AirPods in. Every single one of them. This is workplace. I'm really shocked that the owner doesn't either have a good manager or take a vested interest in this place. It really shows. Lastly, the napkin dispenser is always empty. Yummy smoothie! The Detox Island Green smoothie was just what I was craving. I was so happy they don't add any sugar, it's just naturally sweetened. And the fresh ginger adds a nice kick. I added ground flax seed and probiotics. It was $9.50 but I think worth it to have a healthy snack, and a good size smoothie, too. Just make sure you have plenty of time. I really enjoyed my Triple Berry Oat smoothie, I added the immune booster because I think I'm catching a cold :( I thought it was pretty reasonable for a 24 ounce smoothie. It came to 6.60 with tax. It was delicious and you couldn't taste the vitamins and it was healthy! The store was very clean and there was plenty of space to sit and relax. It seems everytime we order lately, something is wrong. There is a major lack of training in the staff, which changes all of the time. This place craves better management. Waited 30 minutes for a quesadilla to watch them drop it on the floor and had to wait another 10 minutes for them to remake it. I spent 40 minutes total in here waiting for a smoothie and quesadilla. The pickup system is a mess as well with no accountability. I watched someone from door dash arrive to pickup their items which someone else already took so they had to wait for the entire order to be remade. Anyone can walk into any tropical cafe and take someone else's order. They have a sign on the door saying that masks are required. But after I placed my order and used the bathroom, I came out to see a woman ordering with no mask. After she sat down I walked up to the counter and asked the girl working "I thought masks were required?" She said "no, not really." Meanwhile the woman was sitting at the counter right next to where the girls make the smoothies, blowing her gross air all over my food. Unsanitary. Plus when I asked for a manager's card, both of the girls were extremely evasive and I had to pointedly ask for the manager's name. Gross and unsanitary environment with unhelpful staff. Also the staff pressure you to order quickly even when there is no one else in the restaurant. Restaurants needs to follow the signs that they post. when me and my boyfriend came in here, it was practically no one in here except for one lady waiting for something. there wasn't a "hi" or "welcome" introduced. it took 10 minutes for us to get our smoothies, which were the strawberries and banana ones. then the employee serving us had some sort of attitude when making our drinks, was huffing and puffing. then, they brung our drinks out and they looked like this (the picture included). they weren't full all the way up. when i've came before, they were all the way filled. i've worked at 2 places that served smoothies, and that wasn't acceptable. The shop was out of the veggie option for chicken, so she was disappointed. Kayla sucks She gave out a drink to the wrong person and because there was no identification or ticket on it the only way the man could've known that it was his is if he sipped some well after he came back and said it wasn't in fact his and there had been a mix up he gave it to my friend because it was in fact hers. There needs to be more smoothie bars in this area! I traveled all the way from Sunset Beach to this place only to be charged $16.17 for 2 smoothies. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until after I was driving home that it seemed a bit expensive. My "avocalada" was supposed to be $5.09 and my mom's "Peaches n silk" was supposed to be $4.89. I don't understand how that equals $16??? Besides that, both smoothies were okay but I wouldn't say they were bursting with flavor. What a treat! Based off the name, I thought they just had smoothies, but they also have really good foods. Sandwiches, salads, bowls, quesadillas.. and all of it is really good! I had the island chicken quesadilla and my mom had the chicken caprese sandwich. Both were delicious. Not huge portions, but the perfect size. Smoothies were great. Came here for a smoothie while on vacation. I make my own at home every day and was craving one so I ordered one as close as possible to the one I make which was the island green. It was a lot sweeter than what I usually have but it still tasted great. My husband got the orange ginger glow which I tried and also really liked. I got the bbq chicken flatbread that was apparently a limited time item, with their kale apple slaw and I have no complaints at all. In fact, I'll most likely be going back once or twice more before we head back to PA. Awesome smoothie place! Very clean, very friendly staff and very delicious smoothies! I always get the Mocha Blast. It has chocolate, coffee (regular or decaf), cappuccino and non-fat yogurt. For those of us old enough to remember, it's like drinking a Jello Pudding Pop on crack! LOL Yeah, THAT good!! My wife gets the Avocolada. It has avocado, pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut & lime. The store closes at 7pm. My daughters and I entered at 6:35pm to try drinks. It was our first time in the store. We were not greeted, and as we walked to the register we were rudely told we could not order food. One girl offered to make any food if we ordered it, but the 'main ' girl (all were teenagers) told her no. They were cleaning and ready to go. Overall, the one girl was very rude, and the chances of me returning are slim. Even my daughters commented on how we were treated. I thought about calling the manager, but I honestly feel like it won't matter. If the manager cared enough there would have been an adult there at closing to deal with any issues that may arise. read more
