12/15/2025 One employee came in and went straight to the back to prepare a smoothie and didn't wash her hands. She did put on gloves when preparing the food but NEVER washed her hands and the other young lady was on her phone on FaceTime the ENTIRE time while taking my orders as well as 3 other customers and even took her phone to the back while preparing a smoothie while still on FACETIME. I waited until everyone else left to call them out because the "phone" employee told the "no wash hands" employee that I made a comment to her about not cleaning her hands BEFORE preparing food and I told them both I sure did because it's unsanitary. Thank God it wasn't my food because I would have cancelled the order. And I'm writing this review because I shared this event with the person whom I picked the food up for. DO BETTER!! read more

Ordered online and there were very limited options on the app for açaí bowls. There were no options at all for granola, strawberries, or blueberries. This was fine since I didn't want blueberries and cannot have granola due to dietary restrictions. After my partner got our food, there was granola, strawberries, and blueberries added when these were not on the app and we didn't order the bowl with them. My partner went back in to have the bowl remade without granola or blueberries. After this, he told me that the staff member he initially spoke to was polite about it and didn't have a problem. She even said he could keep the other bowl and give it to someone else if he wanted. However, the other staff member who remade the bowl asked for the first açaí bowl back and proceeded to throw it away. Very odd interaction all together and could have been avoided if there were better options available for online orders. read more

Went to Tropical Smoothie Cafe, lured to the business with a coupon for Buy One Flatbread, Get One Free. I waited in a very slow moving line for a long while. Excited to finally order, I began telling the order taker that I wanted a Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread but she quickly told me they were out of Flatbread. I asked if I could use my coupon for a wrap instead but she said no. "But you're out of Flatbread." Again, she denied me, saying that the coupon could only be used on a Flatbread. I was very disappointed that she had no interest in a workaround for me. It was a hard NO. So I ordered a regular price wrap with chips and a drink. The cashier gave me my change and receipt then quickly turned towards the food preparers to tell them something, and forgot to give me my drink. So I had to wait a second to get my drink too. Very slow service. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap was average. I also had a Chia Banana Smoothie which was delicious. Dining room was pretty clean. Overall, I was not pleased with my experience. The service is what brought my rating the down the most. Not sure if I'll attempt to use my coupon again in the future or not. There are so many better options around here. read more

First time to get a cookie that I could not get in the Drive-Thru. 2nd to get a refund the 3rd time to also (get a refund) but the manager (who seemed very nonchalant by the way) convinced me to allow her to REMAKE the quesadilla instead of giving me a refund like I asked!. I do not like asking people to remake something they should have made correctly the 1st time. Anywho I allowed her to remake it( I DO APPRECIATE HER FOR THAT) but it's still ended up in the TRASH because I was afraid to even eat it at this point!. So in other words I WASTED $18 only to eat a bag of chips with six WHOLE chips in the bag. I was highly DISAPPOINTED! My husband enjoyed his buffalo bowl and I enjoyed my flat bread and Bahamas's Manama . Would love to have a pina colada smoothie . My only complaint is they didn't make sure the dasher had all our food and they had to make 2 trips . So, my partner and I are regulars here just because it's a healthier option and has a larger selection than their competitor. However tonight's experience included some extremely rude and unorganized service. Apparently their system went down-which and happens and yes it's stressful, but that doesn't give you the excuse to be rude to patrons. Fortunately, they weren't rude with me or they would've gotten and ear full. Talking about business talk out loud and cussing by I believe the "manager" on duty-shorter lady in pink shirt. And major back talk by a girl with a UWA hoodie saying "I'm busy, it'll be done in a second" in the rudest way possible. I'm sorry, but I've managed a pizzeria that the same exact thing happened, and not once was my staff rude-and honestly I brought myself in as the general manager if something of that stature happened at my restaurant. These workers need some ethical training and training on how to handle high stress problem solving. ONE PLUS: They did say thank you at our exit, and apologized for the chaos. I always come here to get a smoothie, which I absolutely love, but this day I decided to try a flatbread. I ordered online so when I would get there my order would already be ready. I ordered a Kiwi Quencher and a Chicken Bacon Ranch flatbread. When I arrived, my order was not ready and I did not mind waiting inside because it was not many people inside. As time went by, I ended up having to wait 35 mins for an order I had placed in advance. While I was waiting, it started to get more and more crowded. The restaurant is not big so I was kind of hesitant to stay inside and wait due to COVID and there not being enough space inside for everyone to properly social distance. When I finally got my food, I did enjoy it very much. The employees were kind and properly wore masks. I would go back because I did enjoy my food and smoothie, but I think I will wait in my car next time. read more

I love Tropical Smoothie, but this location much be having issues. When I was in there, a fellow customer returned her item & demanded her money back. She had ordered a quesadilla, but was given just chicken laying on the tortilla. I ordered the Baja Chicken Bowl & was given the attached picture of which is nothing like the actual picture. Smoothies are very good, large enough to share and very reasonably priced at $5.99. The price drops to $3.49 if you also purchase a food item. Wide variety of smoothie flavors with many add-ins and supplement options. The two of us had lunch for less than $10.00. Will definitely come again! read more

So i just went in literally 5 minutes ago to get my usual smoothie. They hired new employees and i got the paradise point. They messed up the first one and gave me a health nut, which, no biggie. Then the girl making it caught a major attitude with the dude at the counter. They were bickering. Like, totally unprofessional. They gave me another one and i started drinking it in the car and there was 100% protein in it, which i didnt order. Showed up an hour before closing and got the blueberry bliss. The smoothie is supposed to have strawberry, banana, and blueberry. It tasted like ice and blueberry that were poorly blended together. Love their smoothies and convenient location close to Planet Fitness but lately their "system" has been down a lot so they have to close (surely there is some way to still be open with cash transactions?) Service is iffy.. at times they are friendly and speedy but at other times the employees seem like their own conversation is more important than a customer waiting to place an order. The mango magic wasn't that great, I haven't ordered it again, so I'm not sure if they made it with too much ice or maybe forgot something. The sunrise sunset is delicious though. I love Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Hoover and on 280. So I thought I would treat my daughter to lunch on her first day at a new job. But this has to be the slowest service I've ever seen. Then the entire soda machine was jacked up. So it was a smoothie or water to go with my food. The food was OK and the smoothie was OK. But it took over 30 mins to get it. Not to often I rank this low but due to service and the food I feel like I have no choice in this one. Where do I start? I work out at planet fitness and there is a sign for 10% off when you eat here. Soooo I was hungry after my workout and thought "hey let's give it a shot". errrmmmmm wrong shot. I walked up to order and the guy just looked at me, disgusted like I was bothering him, I mean didn't even say welcome or how may I help you. So strike two. After looking at the menu I thought well I will get the steak taco, a chicken Caesar salad and the chicken pesto wrap. I was feeding my and the wife so don't think I was eating all that, but after seeing the size of it I could of had. Let's go from bad to meeehhh. The taco was the smallest I had ever seen, literally it was smaller than the snack taco from Taco Casa. The price? $2.99!!!! Taste was a like you bought the frozen steak strips, heated them and through some kinda weird slaw on top. The Salad was bitter lettuce, a small boiled piece of chicken, tomatoes and some parmesan cheese with a kraft Caesar salad in two tiny cups in the middle of a salad. A tasteless cut up chicken on bitterweed and some tomatoes, by the way if you have ever had a Caesar salad with tomatoes on it let's see a show of hands please? Price, $6.99. The chicken wrap, well we got a few pieces of fake grilled marked chicken, cheese and enough pesto to choke a good Italian. After eating the taco and salad I know why it had so much pesto, evidently to mask any other flavor on the wrap cause that is all you could taste. Price $3.99 which means they lost profit due to the amount of pesto. After eating this train wreck I am sad to say I had a can of Vienna in chipotle sauce and a half a bag of pork rinds and had a better meal. So no star at all for service (didn't even get the thank you when I left), no star for the taco or salad and a generous one star for the chicken wrap, the pesto did taste ok. We had smoothies and a variety of sandwiches brought to my work for lunch. I tried the chicken pesto pita and the turkey sandwich. They were both delicious. I did not hear any complaints from my co-workers, in fact, everyone said how much they enjoyed it. Although I did not try it, there was a veggie wrap that was thoroughly enjoyed by non-vegetarians. I would definitely go by and eat there, if I were in the area. I eat here every day for lunch. It's always fresh and fast and the employees seem happier than most places in Midtown Village. My favorites right now are the buffalo chicken wrap, the chipoltle chicken club flatbread sandwich, and the mocha madness. Love this place! read more
