Long story short I grew up in Bridgeport went to college in Stamford I never had an outlet growing up unless I wanted to go new haven and have an awful experience. after college I moved to the city and lived there for 8 years. After a break up and my family's business needing my help I moved back to Stamford. Troupe became my life. My safe space I would sit in the corner 3 nights a week till I made enough friends there to be a regular and have people to go out with. This place means so much to so many people from all walks of life. It's my straight friends go to bar because of the clean profession environment and non stop fun that happens there on an hourly basis. During the pandemic when most places closed this place not only survived but the business was packed this is The Go To Bar in Fairfield county hands down. Uber eats your food there plenty of space for everyone. The memories you will make here are endless. In the city you will wait hrs to get into a bar and stare at people here the drinks are affordable service is fast and they have plenty of shows and music to make it and over all great experience.Thankful for this place. read more

Not sure where to begin with how much I love Troupe429. I have been a part of the Troupe family since the beginning when the two amazing, loving, superbly awesome owners Casey and Nicholas started throwing a monthly LGBTQ parties at a cute little bar in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. They wanted to create a place for queer people to come, hang out, play Mario cart or beer pong, have some cute drinks and experience an awesome night! A different type of bar from the standard NYC gay bars. The parties were such a success they wanted to bring this same type of haven for LGBTQ people in Connecticut. Every day! They undeniably succeeded in this magical bar in Norwalk. You walk into a beautiful space, complete with faux tree and swing, to be greeted by the most friendly bar staff I have ever encountered. I have been going to Troupe 429 since it opened and it has become my safe haven. I instantly feel as though I'm amongst family when I enter the door. It's one of those places that I never have to fear going to alone because I always find people to talk to. Most importantly, it's one of the few bars that I can feel SAFE going to. There are always incredible events going on, my personal favorites are ladies night and the drag shows. The staff is above and beyond friendly and the service is excellent, you're never waiting too long for a drink. And most importantly the bar is welcoming to everyone. I remember one night I was asked to host ladies night and five of my straight friends came out to support. At first I was nervous that they wouldn't like the scene, but no one gave a second thought to their orientation. We were all just there for a good time and we danced until 2am and had a blast. Not only does it have a great dance floor, bar and stage, they've added extra flair to the interior of the club, with genderless bathrooms, tinted windows to preserve the safety and privacy of all attendees coming in and out of the club, as well as having a bookshelf full of ALL FEMALE authors, and a stage with a LITERAL LIT treehouse and swing! Troupe429 will offer different themed nights daily, like the incoming Annual Britmas Britney Spears party, or the monthly Girls' Night, made exclusively for the lesbian community, and an open stage for poets, artists, musicians, speakers, drag queens etc. to perform, educate and inspire as they please! I go here every Wednesday night and we have an amazing time. We seriously look forward to this place every week. The staff is SO friendly and the bar tender is knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor! The karaoke master, tim, works the crowd and knows how to keep everyone happy. Infact just last week a new face appeared and tim immediately approached and welcomed her with open arms(literally) and began introducing her to the bar tender and telling her all about the bar, the owners, our community, and how welcome she is and what pleasure it is to meet her. Troupe429 is by far the best Bar I've been to in CT let alone the best LGBTQIA owned and run bar. When so many bars feel dark and seedy Troupe is clean, welcoming, charming, and above all inclusive. Warm, comfortable environment with a super fun flare. Welcoming of everyone from every walk of life. The decor is fun, unique and perfect for the space. I love Troupe429! Very proud of the fact that there is now a Queer Bar in my hometown of Norwalk. Yes, that's right, I consider Troupe429 a "Queer" bar and not a "Gay Bar" because it is a welcoming and safe space for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community and not just gay men. I love this bar! It is a local gem for all people but particularly LGBTQ people. It is a safe place to come just to have a drink and meet new people.
