They had forgotten about it and we were running out of time. We settled for only the balloon person and made sure each child was able to get something made for them. The gym itself was huge and had tons of toys for the kids. There was a bouncy castle, foot pedalling cars, soft giant building blocks and gym mats. All the children had a blast so I'm happy about that.

Apparently its located near Rupert and east 6. The community Center is a bit hidden because its connected to a school. The school is called Thunderbird School. The community center is a bit run down and a bit old. But its great for birthday party. On the day I went there were 3 birthday parties happening. There is a gym and lots of party rooms available for use. As well you can also hire someone to clean up after your party is over. It also has lot of kids toys and setup for kids use. Not bad. Its a 3 floor community center with a basement.

The facilities are ok on the outside but on the inside a bit old. Especially the pool/gym…read more/washrooms. I'm not particularly keen on pools and kids peeing there. People need to be more considerate of others.There's some of us who just want to relax and be left alone. It gets overcrowded, they close on weekends and holidays which is not very cool. And it's a bit expensive, the gym is not so big, the machines are ok.

Everything from the décor, to the yoga studios, to the rooms for rent and even the washrooms. Our family attended a children's party that some friend's of ours held in the Cyprus room and we were impressed. The staff were friendly and engaged the kids as well as the adults, the toys were in excellent shape and the whole area was clean. By area I am referring to the play area, kitchen and the washrooms. There's even a playground right outside the room if you want your kids to get some fresh air. If you're thinking of hosting your child's birthday party, I highly recommend this community centre.

I wasn't impressed with the parking situation. You think for a city recreation centre and all this talk about Canadians being more active they'd make it easier for people to get there and be there. If you're going with sports equipment (like me with my huge badminton bag), the supposed 10-minute walk from the Burrard station can be quite tedious. And it's really more a 20-minute walk. I had to cough up $7 for 2 hours worth of parking! Add that to the $4.25 rec fee (for a 90-minute badminton session) and it got pretty expensive. It really is a rec centre that caters to people who live in the vicinity.

This is one of the newer and more modern looking community centres in the city, and it also has a…read morenice view of the mountains and water being in the heart of Coal Harbour. They have super friendly and chatty staff that is always helpful. But many community centres have nice staff. The thing that separates it from many of the other centres are a few policies that make it much nicer to deal with: 1) My schedule doesn't always allow me to commit to signing up for 15 weeks of a sport at the exact same time each week. So I frequently have to rely on stand-by spots which can be hit or miss at many centres where they require you to show up in person to put yourself on the list. But here for all of the sporting times (badminton, basketball, etc.) you can put yourself on a waitlist by calling that morning. They will tell you how likely you are to get a spot so you don't have to go down and then leave disappointed. 2) They take reservations for table tennis over the phone. You don't have to fight with a bunch of aggressive seniors to win the table from them like a pool hall challenge. 3) They don't oversell open sports like some of the other centres. So when you book a spot you are guaranteed play time. This is key. Nothing more frustrating than having to schlep down to get on a waitlist (boo!), get off the waitlist (hooray!), and then find out that the gym is so crowded that you won't get to play much anyway (big boo!). That doesn't happen here. So overall - hooray!

I came here and discovered there was no parking. Well, the parking lot was across the road and seemed to be attached to the school nearby. It was full that day. I was lucky to find street parking though it was very limited. The library occupied a corner of the building and had probably 10 aisles or less for books to accommodate adults, youth and children books. There were some tables and chairs for patrons to study but this place was beyond sad. The community centre building was really small though it did have a sizeable field behind. That was a bit more spacious. I do hope it will be expanded as the Queensborough area is growing in population and this will be a nice place for the residents to connect with each other.

Want a review on the gym aka fitness centre? Here it is…read more As far as a gym goes? Hands down, no questions asked, top 5 worst gyms I have ever been to in my life. And I been to gyms in 3rd world countries like Laos and Cambodia. What's a good comparison to this gym? It's like a hotel gym but worse. This gym is very very small. If you actually lift bro, you won't last in this gym. It totally makes sense why you can only book 1 hour and max of 20 people, because if there were 20 people in there, there would be no space left to workout, it's really that small. There's no equipment in this gym, it gives you the bare basic amount of gym equipment to call it a gym, there's like 5 treadmills, 1 stairmaster, a couple bo-flex apparatuses. There's some free weights and some squat racks. But yea this gym is pretty bad in terms of what you have to workout with. If you pay for a community center membership for about $500 a year, you would be bored within a month due to the lack of size lack of equipment. I came without my phone because being on your phone is a huge distraction at the gym, even having ear pods in, you're not gonna totally focus on your workout. Kind of a bad idea because there is NO music whatsoever here. It's deadly quiet. Even the people that lift, the noises of people exercising is quiet, top 5 quietest gyms. Being new to Vancouver, I liked the thought of a "community center" where ppl in the community can get ripped together, but there is none of that in this gym. Definitely a 1 star gym, gonna give it a 2 star reviews, because the center probably does good things for the community, the staff here is friendly, I saw some kids workin out downstairs. This is a great find for parents with babies or toddlers out there…read more Mount Pleasant Community Centre has a spacious, open space, drop in play time for kids. There's soft mats, jumbo building blocks, feet peddle cars, slides, see-saws and even little picnic tables for snacks. It's only $3 per child and you can let your little one run wild! Well, please make sure to keep an eye on them as well, but this is a wonderful space to let your little one burn off some energy as well as have fun.

Cammie leads the class, and it's a perfect introduction to a structured environment, tailored to the readiness of toddlers. First is 25 minutes of supervised open play (parents/caregivers stay with the children), then a few minutes at a supervised, structured art project at the art table (e.g. painting, or gluing leaves on a tree-shaped paper - n.b. this age group needs a lot of help with gluing). After art, everyone washes hands and heads to the circle area for bubbles (way to motivate toddlers to assemble somewhere!) and circle time with a very very short story, then some puppet-singing games, and ring-around-the-rosie and good-bye. The child I bring is just 15 months old, and he enjoys watching the other children, as well as playing with the toys & equipment. He obviously needs active management in his interactions due to his age, but he seems to benefit from the opportunity to play with other toddlers, and he's certainly tired out for his nap after a morning at Little Friends. We had a couple black…read morebear encounters - the second encounter (a group Of 3 bears) caused us to turn around and extend our hike for an extra 30 minutes. Made me wonder what would happen if we were met with another bear encounter on the way back. Free parking and outhouse at the start. The bears seem fairly tame but I would feel more comfortable going with some bear spray. Also saw some otters, herons and dozens of toads.

We went up to the high knoll. It was pretty cool once we got to the top. I didn't really know what to expect on this hike but in my opinion you gotta be at least in decent shape to do it. There are some steep hills but overall it's nothing crazy. What I love the most about this park is the wildlife, ducks, snakes, toads and bears! So cool to see these guys. Amazing animals! There is an outhouse at the entrance of the park. There is a decent size parking lot. Can't wait to come back...........
