He shared what he knew about the waters and coastline features both there and along Shelter Island... in waters we'd sailed past many times in our own old cutter without the benefit of a great story teller's rich narratives. He helped my cousins learn how to operate a Jet Ski properly and he was incredibly helpful out on the water as well. The Jet Ski's were Yamaha Waverunners and for a 30 minute rental the price is not bad at all. Overall I'd definitely recommend and I can't wait to get out on the water again with Peconic Water Sports!!!

We hired two boats for two hours, and we had a blast. The staff were former professional wake…read moreboarders, and the boats were brand new (literally a week old) specialized water sport boats that generate extra wake for better tubing, wake surfing, wake boarding, etc. The two staff members on each boat were patient, encouraging and polite. They gave great tips and instruction on how to wake board. Our group of 6 (aged 6 to adult) will be back!

It was about $700+ after fees, tip, etc, and it was totally worth it. Our captain, Mason, was super cool. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and we felt comfortable being really annoying and weird in front of him. The sail itself was just a short ride in the bay, where we anchored close to a beach. We loved dancing on the boat, trying out the SUP board (included), basically chugging our BYOB drinks (no hard liquor allowed on board), taking pics lounging in the net, gawking at the yachts, and pretending the pool noodles were seahorses that we were riding. Bachelorette stuff! I think we had the Mon Mini boat, probably the smallest option. Included: one SUP board, bluetooth speaker, cooler, two pool noodles, the captain.

They provided two Yeti coolers and a Bluetooth speaker for music which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped take pictures for our group and the sailing was very smooth. I would definitely book again, probably earlier in the summer for the 3 hour cruise to be able to do the paddleboarding.

Captain Ernie was one of four different guides my group used over three days in mid September 2019…read more He knows the waters around Montauk well and his boat is well maintained. The problem we encountered was a pretty sour attitude from our guide...to a high degree actually. Given his fee ($800, easily the highest of the four guides we used) and his relatively small boat (the smallest of the four we used), you'd think he make up for it with a good nature. Nope. The day on the water was tough and he had to work hard to put us on fish, which he did. All day long. That's a plus. The problem is, all the captains we used worked their rears off. They just did so at rates and with attitudes that were much more reasonable.

I spend a lot of time fishing, and you'd think I would be better at it than I am. I do not spend a lot of time fly fishing, but I love each time I have gotten out there. Not only did Ernie get us to the fish, he gave us clear instructions to stay at opposite ends of the boat, kept us orderly and to work on our casts regardless of the conditions. First day was WINDY! I am a return customer and will continue to be. I learn more each time we fish together and Ernie's willingness and enthusiasm out there on Monday and back at 'em Tuesday was something that I will always remember. Watch the way he approaches fish vs some of the other guides, he is always aware and that allows him to put you in the most optimal spot to engage from.
