I was in shock over the price.. the heater itself was $400..but the labor was $2000 ..after THEY damaged it!Thats $500 and hour!!! Once they began the work I had NO chance of comparing prices or getting quotes to compare so had no choice but to pay up! I have since then found out that I was overcharged by almost $1000...I asked that he refund me the difference but he did not seem interested so Im posting this review..do your research is all I can say.

Of course, back in those days, one would just randomly pick someone from the yellow pages, as there were no review sites, just refers from those you knew. Today, times have changed, but not everything, when someone is good, you keep using them, especially a electrician and car mechanic. On with the review.... [ Introduction ] When my wife and I purchased our first house we just wanted something within our means and that meant getting an older house built in 1969. Everything was original and we needed bathroom fans, dryer outlet, a new oven and new stove cooking top. We hired one of those big companies and a guy name Matthew came over. He knew his trade well, was reliable and explained all the details, which is exactly what I liked. I love details. [ First Service Job ] Matthew installed the fans, oven, stove-top and dryer outlet. Of course he had to look at the electrical panel that was located in the "garage" to turn the power off and he noticed that our particular panel was a older model that was prone to cause fires (burn down a house) and that was scary to hear, but he explained why and I had him replace the whole panel. We just had our first child and obviously did not want to chance it. We had a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok electrical panel and I researched (as I do with almost everything) that roughly 90% of houses built from 1960-1980 had those installed. Many houses "burned down" because of them and yes, Federal Pacific is out of business! (if you don't believe it, look it up yourself) After Matthew replaced everything, the house looked great and we stayed there for a couple of years. I kept his information for future work and just recently discovered that he went the family approach, after leaving the very well known electrician company. [ Second Service Job ] We moved into a much newer house after having our second child and needed more light in our bedroom as it was extremely dark. I called Matthew and he came out to look at what we needed, shared his ideas on what would look the best and he went from there. He installed 6" recessed lights for the centre and 3" adjustable recessed lights on the outside of the ceiling. The lighting turned out beautifully and now finally, we have light in the room. [ Prices ] The prices are extremely affordable when comparing to other electricians and he does a great job at explaining the costs upfront. What I really like is that he does not over charge on the material, something others like to do. You pay what he pays for the material + the labor, which is exactly how it should be. Others should know that this type of work is not done by the hour, because every job is different. This job was completely different than our other house. With both projects, Matthew was never pushy about sales, he was very honest and upfront and that is very rare these days. [ Coming over ] Matthew came dressed as an electrician and he wore those shoe slip on cover things, which is great, because it shows he is professional and cares about our carpets. Now if only those Comcast cable installers would do the same thing. [ Licensed/Insured ] I already knew what I was getting the second time I called, but still it is good to know that others who read my review know these guys are state licensed master electricians and carry special insurance. As you can imagine, my regular car guy is a master mechanic too. When it comes to your house, or car, you want someone who knows what they are doing, not some amateur. [ Conclusion ] Finding someone who treats your home/car like it were their own is no easy task. When I deal with either one, I always want someone that is a master in their trade, so I know they are competent in doing the job right. Matthew at Plugged In Electrical Services always does the job right, he is honest and has probably saved my families life (no joke) when he changed out that dangerous panel. I highly recommend this company and will continue to use Matthew as our electrician for as long as we live in the state.

Approximately five weeks after the work, I needed to enter the basement area and when I turned on the lights, a breaker tripped and I saw an arc in the junction box Eric wired into. Called him, he came out, said that wasn't his work and told me it would cost me additional money to have it repaired. Lights have been working for decades before his work. He suggested someone else had worked in that box after him (not true). Anyway, be forewarned that his "1 year" warranty on his work isn't worth the paper it's written on. Follow-Up Review: Continued Refusal to Address Significant Damage…read more I'm posting this follow-up to inform potential customers that Assured Comfort Heating, Air, and Plumbing still refuses to accept responsibility for the significant damage caused to my home--originally exceeding $100,000 in mold remediation and repairs. During an attempt to correct their own sloppy workmanship, they caused an additional $4,000 in secondary damage, which their insurance company did not cover and they refuse to reimburse. Despite being formally served by the Marshal's Office, Assured Comfort has failed to respond to my small claims court filing. As a result, I'm now pursuing a default judgment in Fulton County Superior Court. Given the unprofessional service, extensive damage, and complete lack of accountability, I strongly advise prospective customers to seek a different provider--there are many reputable options in the area, such as CoolRay, Premier Indoor Comfort, and Casteel Heating and Cooling, all of which can be easily found on Google with far better reviews and ratings. Don't risk going through the nightmare I've experienced with Assured Comfort.

He converted some 2 prong outlets to 3 prong outlets. Work was completed as requested and cost was reasonable. Gave an excuse for being late that I only half believed. Second visit: Kris replaced a low-voltage transformer, which he acquired, for my landscape lights. Total cost was $300. While here, we discussed replacing the actual lights hooked up to to the transformer as a few were out. He said he'd get back to me. I had thought that the transformer likely cost $150-ish so the total, $300 parts & labor, was high, but I didn't say anything. I found out later that the transformer, a Home Depot brand, was only about $75. The work took maybe an hour and a half, so $225 for the labor?? I don't know anyone on an hourly wage that gets over $100 per hour. The average hourly rate for an electrician in GA according to multiple online sources is between $24.92-$38.11. I received a text from Kris about a week later saying he had the landscape lights we discussed and could come the next week to install them. The cost would be $500. These are basically plug & play lights and it would probably take about an hour to complete the work. I looked online and found the lights cost a total of $150. That means he was going to charge me $350 for labor. When I texted back for the break down, he claimed the lights were $200 and the labor would be $300. I replied back: So I went online. I can get the lights for $150. And $300 for maybe an hour of labor is ridiculous. I'll pass. His reply: Okay, that's why I suggested you can change them out yourself to save money. I can't show up at your house for free. I have a business to run not a charity. I never asked him to do the work for free and if he didn't want to do it in the first place he could have just said so. Instead, he decided he would attempt to charge me a ridiculous amount of money. I would not hire him again and would not recommend him.
