The ability to bring in drinks is always wonderful and the price point is reasonable. The before show talks are a great background on the show you are seeing. Look for the adverts for select times. The bagels and Broadway is a neat event to see the incoming set and talk with the directing manager and/or backstage personnel. Support the arts!

The knew their lines and all understood the characters that they portrayed very well. One aspect needs improvement, this was a comedy and although the audience was upwelled with laughter, the characters continued their lines. They should pause and allow the audience to enjoy the moment. The Facility: this is an old building, it was built as a WACO Aircraft final assembly building. It's seen much recent remodeling and today it's a sweet fairly small theater in the round. (The audience wraps around the stage) It's has comfortable chairs, it's lighting is up to date, sound is on point, bathrooms are modern, etc. I'd highly recommend TCT for a pleasant evening. Due to the age of the building, I would not recommend a very high or pointy heel on your shoes. There are assorted antiques scattered around, there's a bar, a stage, a popcorn machine. I went to concerts here when I was younger and browsed around the "antiques and primitives" too, and most recently my 15-year high school reunion was at this venue. Really a cool place for something like that. I think it would also be a unique venue for a rustic wedding reception, birthday party, retirement celebration, family reunion, etc. The building is locally owned and thankfully gets regular use rather than being boarded up or torn down, which has been the sad fate of many similar structures. As the name suggests, this building was originally built as a roller mill, and you can still see the canal locks (no longer in use) on the property.

Before a show, you can check out any of the restaurants in the area and walk to the theater. Go get dinner at the Golden Lamb or ice cream at one of the cute shops in town. All are within walking distance from the theater. There is a parking lot to the right side of the building, as well as additional parking across the street from the theater. Check out their website for upcoming shows. It would be smart to buy those tickets in advance, but you might be able to walk up the night of the show to purchase a ticket. I think Middletown Lyric Theater is one of the few to provide a consistent level of quality performance. They have a good mix of old and new shows, and straight plays and musical reviews. Went to this wonderful example of early American farming while in Ohio visiting friends. The barn…read moreis comprised of two square pens made of hand-hewn boards from trees, it is an interesting thing to see. Not being from Ohio, it was interesting to see and learn about the history odd the state as told through the Johnston family, who lived at and operated the farm from the early to late 1800's. The farmhouse was built in 1812, and added into shortly thereafter so to have both public and private areas. John Johnston was an Indian agent, and at most times had tribal representatives living in the land there. The spring house is still operating, the spring runs well and is smells so fresh! The canal system was especially interesting to me, it was started to move freight and goods from Ohio to other markets. Unfortunately the railways were more successful in the long run. However, you can take a short ride an a portion if the canal system that is intact on the property. Great way to learn about our heritage while enjoying the Johnston farm.
