This is maybe my third time coming to H massage. My mom has been coming regularly for years now. My…read moremom got me a 60 min gift card for Easter so I thought I would use it today. I showed her before hand and she told me 60 min as it was written on the giftcard. I arrived at 11:16 by the time the massage started it was 11:25 (getting undressed and set up) the massage was fine. I was a bit uncomfortable because she kept leaving the door open but granted we were probably the only one in there. She picked up the phone and left 2x (this is a thing that happens a lot) I find this odd because she's booking another client while sitting on the bed I am on. My massage ended at 11:44 (this was less than 30 min when I had a 60 min gift card). I am not good with confrontation so I tipped $4 ( I know I shouldn't have tipped when she took the other money from the massage gift card). She then proceeded to get upset and said I owed her $12 for a 25% tip. I told her my giftcard was an hour and she was only in there for less than 30 min. She continued to get upset and said "yes i worked for 45 min" I showed her time stamps from my location service. She continued to ask for more and more tip and I kept refusing due to the nature. Finally she said "yes, just leave we ok". I'm extremely confused with this entire situation. And will not be going back. It's upsetting when we agreed an hour before hand and she cut me so short. I was really looking forward to this massage today

Full disclosure: I am married to the owner of Lincoln Acupuncture Project. So yeah, I'm clearly…read morebiased. But I've also been able to receive hundreds of acupuncture treatments from her in our years together, and I can attest to her skill as an acupuncturist and as a healer. She has helped me out of debilitating headaches more times than I care to recall, and with other problems I've had over the years. But I've also been witness to how skilled she is working with patients in the community clinic setting where she worked back in California, and now here in Lincoln, and what an asset community-style acupuncture is to a community. Especially I feel how healing work in a shared space (with other patients) helps break through the sense of isolation a person can so easily feel when they are injured, in pain, or sick or a long time. I love the way the Lincoln Acupuncture Project space turned out and it feels very peaceful being there, getting treatments alongside others.

It's a relaxing place to go, and I appreciated the description of a "community reservoir of calm." It is awesome to be with other people while taking time for yourself. I appreciate this place for making it simple to access a thousands-of-years-old healing practice that modern science has proven effective for various symptoms. Now that I know this place exists, it's going to be my go-to provider for a lot of those little health concerns that pop up, especially the ones that are probably too vague for a regular MD / drug-based therapy to successfully address. The needles are no big deal. They're extremely thin and not painful or so slight initially that you won't care. You are in charge of your treatment, so you can just try one needle and see what it's like, and you can ask any time to have any or all of them taken out. Also there's no blood, so put your mind at ease about that! Scheduling is ridiculously easy on the website. There's no pressure to come back often. Don't forget cash or check, and you might want earphones to listen to music. Your first treatment might be 20-30 minutes, plus all the time you need to talk through your symptoms. I could have taken notes for the self-massage techniques and vitamins she mentioned, which were also super helpful.
