Getting check in was easy as all I had to do was use the app and get a digital key (especially as the front desk doesn't always have someone there). They have lots of things to keep you or the family busy - an inside pool, a pool table in the lobby, outside sitting area, a reading lounge, gym . . . And it's located near lots of shopping and eating spots. The room itself was clean - has a mini fridge in the room, however the water never seemed to get hot enough and the water pressure was lacking for me. When I checked out (through the app) I was in my car when I realized that my card had been charged for something else. I went back in and was glad to see someone at the desk. I asked about this as was told it was an item from the market place to which I explained I hadn't gotten anything. He kindly removed the charge (which was minimal) however it raised concerns about how someone else was able to charge something to my room and if I hadn't seen it before leaving how difficult it would have been to get that taken care of. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Tru by Hilton Cypress Houston, particularly with the lack of professionalism and basic customer service from the front desk staff. I checked in on August 7 at approximately 3:00-3:30PM, which was also my wedding day. We had been staying at Hotel ICON in downtown Houston, but because our wedding reception was taking place later that evening closer to the Cypress area, we decided to leave Hotel ICON and stay at Tru so that we could be closer to the reception location. We chose Tru specifically for the convenience of being nearby while we waited for the evening reception to begin. Unfortunately, what should have been a simple and stress-free transition on an important day became an unnecessarily frustrating experience. There was a male and female attendant working at the front desk when I checked in. The female attendant gave me my key card information and wrote what appeared to be my room number as 818 and the checkout information as 414. She did not explain where the elevators were or provide any basic orientation to the hotel. I actually had to ask her where the elevators were. We got on the elevator only to discover that there was no eighth floor. We then tried to make sense of the other information she had written and ended up on the fourth floor. The room we attempted based on the information she provided did not work with the key card, so I had to return downstairs. When I returned to the front desk, the female attendant was assisting another guest, while the male attendant was not assisting anyone. Despite seeing me standing there, he never once acknowledged my presence. After waiting several minutes, I finally had to initiate the conversation myself. I asked him whether there was an eighth floor in another part of the hotel or another elevator because the female attendant had written 818 on my card. I showed him exactly what she had written. When he asked her about it, instead of simply acknowledging the mistake and apologizing, she initially denied that she had written the information incorrectly. She then stated that "818" was supposed to mean 8/8. When I explained that the other number she had written, which appeared to indicate Room 401, did not work either, she then said, "Oh, I meant 402." What made the situation particularly unacceptable was the male attendant's response. Rather than apologizing for the confusion or simply helping resolve a mistake made by the hotel, he dismissively told me, "It's not the end of the world." I responded that being professional and apologizing for your mistake isn't the end of the world either. To be clear, my issue was not simply that an employee made a mistake. Mistakes happen. It was the way the mistake was handled. There was no accountability, apology, acknowledgment, or basic courtesy. Instead, I was met with denial from one employee and a dismissive comment from another. This was my wedding day, and we had specifically changed hotels from Hotel ICON downtown to Tru so we could be closer to our evening reception. I certainly did not expect special treatment because I was getting married, but I did expect the same basic professionalism, courtesy, and competent service that any paying guest should receive. Instead, I was unnecessarily sent around the hotel trying to locate a room that did not exist because of incorrectly written information and then treated as though I was the problem for bringing it to their attention. Unfortunately, the experience did not improve once I finally got into the correct room. The bathtub was visibly dirty and looked as though no one had even bothered to clean it properly before my arrival. After the experience at the front desk, finding a dirty bathroom only reinforced my impression of the property. Between the unprofessional front desk experience, incorrect room information, lack of basic assistance during check-in, dismissive attitude when I brought the error to their attention, and the cleanliness of the room, this was an extremely disappointing stay. I will never book another Tru by Hilton. The property was unclean, and the level of customer service I experienced was unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

This location is tucked away behind some medical offices and restaurants, with single family home housing directly behind the building. Parking is plentiful around three sides of the building. There isn't a dresser, a closet or a single drawer in the entire room or bathroom. There also isn't a large enough space to lay out your suitcase so we had to unload everything and stack in on the small table over fridge. Staff were nice, breakfast was okay. read more

I went to check in and the front desk clerk was lying on the couches to the left of the entrance. Welcome was sub par at best. She gave me my card and didn't say anything, as if I'm supposed to know where the elevators are to get to my room? The hallway is super hot. The room looks clean which is awesome. The welcome is not on par with Hilton Hilton really and truly needs to get ahold of who they allow to use their name. Upside, the most comfortable hotel Pillows I've ever slept on. Total dream. Someone on my floor was going in and out of their room every hour. Not the hotels doing just utterly annoying when people don't follow the door when closing and just let it slam shut. There is something that pops all night when your trying to sleep. It's 4:00 am and I can"t figure out if it's the compression shampoo conditioner bottles in the shower. It's really bad and Loud all night. Place is not worth a dime don"t stay here if you want to sleep. It's by homes next door and behind you very off. They have dogs that will bark for hours in and keep you up all night. It's terrible. I unplugged the refrigerator as well about the piping loud noise. I called the front desk she said it might be in the electrical room. Poor decision putting me by a known loud noise that accrues nightly. The halls are blazing hot not air walking to your room. Terrible hotel non maintained. Looked at pool as well it's poorly maintained don"t use it! Corporate booked for me said it's as nice as the garden in surprise AZ. Not even close this place is a dive. Please beware. They are breaking in to vehicles at this location. The unfortunate thing is the staff know this has been happening for some time now and they never bothered to warn their guest. They busted my passenger side window in my truck, broke, in and moved things around but did not take anything. When police office asked to see their video they said it would have to be Monday. I was parked right out front under a huge bright light. The hotel staff responded with no suprise for what happened. There were 4 vehicles to get windows smashed and things rambled through. It is almost as though the criminal was looking for a specfic item, like maybe a gun or something. Either was the hotel was NO HELP and they are aware of this consistent problem. This hotel only "looks" nice. The one star is only for the customer service that my husband received for his short time there. My Husband had a late flight so he bought food at the airport and said he'd eat it for dinner once he arrived at his hotel. The room had no microwave!!!! If you need to heat food, you have to go down to the lobby and use the microwave down there. The following morning my husband got up to use the restroom (which was nice), but after he got back in bed, he focused on something crawling towards him, it was a bedbug!!!!! He was able to capture it to take it to the manager on duty who was a nice lady. He can't recall her name but she was a black lady who really tried to make it right and immediately offered to change his room. Unfortunately the other room that she offered to him, they pulled the blankets back on the bed and it had some unidentifiable objects on the mattress cover so at this point he just decided to checkout and find a new hotel. As Hubby was gathering his belongings from his room, he looked in the crevice of the chair and said that it was packed with crumbs. He said it was obvious that the chair has never been cleaned. It was gross and time to go. We booked through Priceline so our refund was issued immediately. The manager called around to find a new hotel which was a very kind gesture. Beware of this hotel. I was charged the rate for my stay ($311), then 2 days later I was charged again, but this time it was $1035. Nobody at the hotel can seem to figure out where that charge came from or how to get rid of it. They just keep telling me "it will drop off" but 2 weeks and several phone calls to the hotel and to Hilton Corporate later, and not a thing has changed. My bank is now claiming fraud. My bank believes someone at the hotel fraudulently charged my card for their own gain. Do not stay here. Shady, shady business practices are in place it seems. read more

Worst Hilton experience of my life! Service is horrible and worst part? They literally don't care! This is from the manager down! Has to call Hilton corporate to get some assistance for the human hair in my bed that wasn't mine and the ball of hair I stepped in out of the shower. Because I'd Covid they don't do regular daily cleaning: only when you ask for it and I totally understand. But when you arrive from a long day I'd travel and find yourself in someone's else's hair in the bed - I asked for a change of bedding. They dropped off to me for me to change!! I have a bad back and so I just did the eBay I could but still in shock about it all. I do t recommend this place at all. read more

As soon as we checked into our room, I told my husband the room had a very uncomfortable vibe. You have this wide room, no dresser, no closet. No microwave. Just a tv with some type of tv stand with shelves below it. It just felt empty like there were some things missing. We noticed a weird pee smell. The bathroom ceiling has black mold. My son literally got sick, the 1st night we stayed here, and I do believe if is because of the mold, as he has allergies and asthma. We mentioned this to the front desk receptionist the best she could do was switch us rooms, which we declined because whos to s there wouldnt be more mold in the other rooms or in the walls. He's been non stop coughing, sniffling and sneezing. We checked out 2 days early because he was so miserable. I would never stay here again. The desk just big enough for a large laptop. It's assumed the work areas down stairs will be the location of choice. There are tables for meetings. And work pods with no desks. The room a/c thermostat had too much tolerance - alternately frozen or roasted. The 1 cubic foot refrigerator is under the open clothes bar. Outlets - WITH USBs - were everywhere!! (Except the bathroom where there were ample outlets.) Comfortable bed with nice linen. Large screen TV. Ample ice and filtered water to refill water bottles. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast area is nice, bright and well designed. The food options are typical and the same every day. Even rooms face the freeway. Odd rooms overlook a neighborhood. read more

First night we had to be moved to another room due to kids running down the hallway. With only one front desk person they don't have anyone to check on noise complaint. They only have one person working the desk. The lady at the desk was really nice and I felt bad for her since everything was left for her to take care of. Doesn't seem safe to have only one person on the property to handle everything. Bathrooms need a ventilation system because you can see black mold from all the moisture that comes from shower. Have stayed at Tru by Hilton previously in Houston and enjoyed the stay. So booked a business trip stay at the Tru by Hilton in Cypress expecting the same. It was not. Hotel is full of construction workers that do not care how loud they are. They had rooms in a floor above my room. LOUD all hours of the night. Worst stay I have ever had in a hotel. Locked out of my room for over an hour due to the locking mechanism on my room door. I will not be back nor will I will ever recommend this particular location. Front desk rarely has anyone there. They show up shortly after you walk in. Very unprofessional. read more
