In short, nice new hotel in a great location that with a few tweaks, can be great! Tru is Hilton's answer to the budget conscious, likely younger, hip crowd. I love the style and feel of these hotels where everything feels fresh and energetic - not stuffy. I think this location in downtown Indy is fairly new and it seems like the staff is still trying to work out some kinks. First of all, this hotel is in a great location downtown, especially for anyone coming in for a Colts game. If that's important to you, I don't think it's possible to find a hotel closer to the stadium. We paid $145 for our stay, which wasn't bad at all for this location on a game weekend. We didn't come for the game, but there were quite a few Seahawks fans in town. The room was nice. Reasonably firm mattress, decent water pressure in the shower. There was plenty of shampoo and conditioner, but no soap. Fortunately, we brought our own, but I don't know if the absence of shower soap/gel that's normal? Presumably not. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes, but the wash cloth I grabbed came with some courtesy pubes (not mine). It appeared to be clean otherwise... just some clingers that made it through the cleaning process? What else is making it through the cleaning process? HFortunately, there were plenty more as I mentioned. The gym was nice with a decent selection of cardio equipment and weights. I liked the individually packaged and sanitized ear buds. Nice touch! However, I was disappointed to see that there weren't any towels or sanitizing wipes in the gym. Being out of things or things missing seemed to be a theme at this hotel, and it didn't seem like they were prepared for what I imagine to be a pretty busy game weekend. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a definite perk. The parking deck is dedicated to Tru and attached, which made in and out super convenient. I think the deck is 3-4 levels, each of which can be easily accessed from the same elevator you use to get to your room, making it unnecessary to go to the lobby each time. Definitely like that. This is a good property and it seems like they're ALMOST there. Considering their overall value prop, a bit more attention to detail and this could be one of the coolest properties and best values downtown.

Checking in to my room at Tru!! Excited!

So... first off let me say that this hotel is extremely nice and the location is amazing! Right down town. Around everything. So now let's woke our way inside. I checked in on Friday!! Let me first shoutout to Steven he was sooo nice and warming. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel. He really is an awesome employee for this company!! Ok so you're asking why didn't i give 5 stars. Well the rooms were extremely clean and cute BUT... There was no Netflix or Hulu on the tv. And that's a BIG thing for me staying in a hotel! Also... i wanted to purchase some snacks but due to there only being one person working at the counter the line was sooo long and i didnt feel like waiting. Other than that i most definitely would stay again and recommend because we are right across from Lucas Oil Stadium and around a lot of things! But thank you Tru by Hilton for my stay!

Best customer service I've experienced! Every person I encountered, from a phone call asking about events (Emily), to asking about early check in (Jeremy) to check in itself (Brie), to morning breakfast (very nice guy running it), to cleaning crew! Brie did a particularly phenomenal job taking care of us! The hotel is clean and beautiful. The hotel room was clean, accommodating and very comfortable.

The King bed room was $249 a night before taxes, parking, etc for a final $1,098.27 for 4days/3nights and roughly $80 of that was from food and beverage bled to the room. The service really stood out from check in to check out. Everyone from housekeeping to the front desk, was friendly and welcoming every time I passed by or needed anything it was a great encounter. It was every staff member. I chose self parking in the garage over valet. Plenty of parking and easy to access. The restaurants are good. I frequented Loaf + Vine Market quite a bit, along with Starbucks upstairs, then High Velocity, and the lobby bar. Nice to have solid options right in the hotel. The room felt luxurious with great amenities with wood accents in the foyer, floor to ceiling windows, a safe, mini fridge, full size ironing board, great bathroom, plenty of hot water (32nd floor), a nice desk area for working, and a good size TV. The workout facilities were great too with water and fresh fruit provided. No downsides during my stay. Overall, really impressed with both the service and the experience. Would definitely stay here again.

When we got into the room. The staff was super accommodating and made sure that we removed a few doors down to a room that was smoke-free. Room was a good quality. Double beds. Shower okay, no bathtub. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. The only downside about the coffee maker was that the universal coffee and plastic attachments did not go with the machine. It should have been a closed environment, but it was not. Once you inserted the plastic coffee filter and place the coffee filter pod into the maker, there was a gap, which led to splashing of the hot water onto the coffee filter pod that led to coffee Bean all over the desk. Breakfast every morning. Waffles, either scrambled eggs or pre-cooked omelette, pork sausage, chicken sausage. Golden potatoes, yogurt, fruit, various breads, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Pretty good size dining room as well. On the second floor. Second floor was also where the fitness center was. The floors were labeled with having vending machines on floors 4 and 7:00, but I could not find any. There was a snack area on the first floor where you could purchase snacks by scanning with self-checkout. Refrigerated items, frozen items, candy, chips, etc. The only thing the room really needed was a deep clean. Crevices and corners could have used some extra care and love. Outside of that, no complaints. Security key required to get into the hotel, as well as up the elevator.

Walking distance…read morefrom Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil, the Circle monument, and lots of other fun things downtown. Our suite was plenty spacious and had a fun urban/industrial vibe with exposed brick. The bed was more on the firm side, but that is my preference anyway! If you don't wanna go anywhere in the morning, they did have a complimentary breakfast, but again it is so perfectly located between tons of great restaurants. My only knock was that the customer service experience at the desk was a bit different between the night staff and the morning stuff. The young woman who is working overnight, seemed very preoccupied and slightly annoyed when I had some pretty basic questions. This was completely contrasted by the young woman who was working in the morning. I saw her going above and beyond whether it was making sure the trash left for breakfast was taken care of or checking us out. Having worked in hospitality, I understand that anybody can have a bad night, but overall our stay was great and we would definitely recommend this place for anyone coming in town from one of the major events or anyone just looking to have a fun staycation.

I was in town for a conference, and last year I booked a hotel two months before it and my hotel was about a mile away (oddly enough, a Hampton Inn co-located with a Homewood Suites), so this time I booked in January. Customer service here was superb, from start to finish. After checking in, I received a text asking how everything was going, and during my stay I was able to send follow-up texts if I had questions or needed anything. In addition, I was able to borrow/sign out an umbrella one day when it was raining - there's a $25 fee if you don't return it that day, but it's a very nice service they offer. I realized I forgot a shower cap one day, too, and the front desk was able to provide me with one. Pros: -Huge and unique rooms. The building is from the late 1800s and has been repurposed into this hotel. I think my room was bigger than my first apartment! -Nice sitting area with a couch even though I had a king studio suite. Huge kitchen with full-size fridge and freezer, plus flatware and even cooking utensils. -Large bathroom area, although no bathtub, just a shower. -Free breakfast daily, and they even had almond milk and oat milk for cereal - I have to drink non-dairy milk exclusively and hotels rarely have it available. -Free cookies at front desk -The staff was super friendly, when I returned every day from the conference I was welcomed back Cons: -Very few from me, but: no safe in the room -Towels are small but that's normal for most hotels nowadays -Wifi was a little wonky - on my computer and work iPhone it was fine, and also fast, but on my Android/personal phone, texts were delayed. I'm going to chalk this up to my phone being weird. Overall I LOVED my stay here and would 100% stay here again. If you're in town for a convention, it's only a two-block aka five-minute walk to the convention center, too, which was great.
