So last minute I had to find a stylist so I decided to try Martha's shop. I will say that the shop owner and the lady that did my hair were both very nice. Just the professionalism and product wasn't good. I made an appointment for 8:30am to get dye weave sewn in. I dropped off the hair in the morning the day before the appointment and I was told that the hair would be dyed by the time of my appointment. On the day of the appointment I was called by the stylist and told she would be 30 minutes late. That's fine, I just told her I had to be at work by mid afternoon. When I got to the shop to wait for my stylist, the owner was still dying the hair. My stylist came in 15 minutes after the already pushed back time and she didn't start on my hair until about 20 to 25 minutes after that. Because I had to work in the afternoon the timing was stressing me out. The way the stylist braided my hair under the net left a bump at my side part. She left way more leave out than I wanted exposed. In all the years I have gotten a sew in I've always had a stylist that was able to make my hair flat. I pointed the bump out to her but she kept telling me that it would flatten... it didn't. Part of the hair feels oily, I am assuming because it wasn't properly washed after it was dyed. I spent $350 on hair that is not up to par with what I usually get. I think maybe this was just a one time bad experience because the reviews I'd seen before were good. That is why I decided to go to this shop in the first place. Unfortunately have to take this sew in out soon and get it redone.

It feels good, and I had the best time! Mistie is literally the sweetest and SO thorough! She really takes the time to understand your hair wishes, is clear on the next steps, and the results you can expect at that appointment, which actually made me a lot more comfortable to just let her work her magic. I felt heard and was more than confident in her abilities. It's a cozy space and we had great conversation! The whole experience felt elevated and more than exceeded my expectations- 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I came to her after seeing the great reviews but…read moreunfortunately my experience involved her being condescending to me, her taking little to no accountability for anything, and left with a hair color nothing compared to what I wanted. Plus her canceling my appointment day off due to not buying her recommended products from her store! I came with an inspo picture and referenced my dream color I wanted multiple times. I thought she had that same goal in mind through her recommendations, never did I think (nor did she say) the color would be a completely different color and style. After expressing this and showing her pictures again she offered to do a "complementary" service to get me to the color I originally wanted, we scheduled it the following week. We talked about the damage it could cause my hair, she recommended 7 products she sells from her store and suggested I buy and start using them soon. She never told me my appointment would be canceled unless I bought all her products at once and used them for probably a max of 4 days before the appointment. She notified me the day of the appointment that she was canceling my appointment as she saw I hadn't bought them from her store. Also they weren't all available the many times I checked! But thinking she personally recommended these items with my hair's best interest in my mind, I didn't mind waiting. It's disappointing to me as I had all intentions to buy these products and get my dream hair however this miscommunication and expectation that would pay $300+ for these 7 products at once just a week after I already payed her $340 for my original hair was so inconsiderate. I got second opinions from other hairstylists that said they would have charged me $200 max for the work she did. What was more disappointing is the fact that she kept placing the blame as me as the client for not assuming her expectations and not understanding why these products are so important (which I do understand). I felt so disrespected and although she tried to be as kind as she tries It came of a bit manipulative as she continued to blame me and compare me to a child who needs someone to dumb things down for them. Also she barely let me say anything as she talks a lot and tried to interrupt the few times she would let me speak. She may be very experienced and knowledgeable but I just truly did not feel respected as a customer.

New clients do require a consultation before hand which is definitely needed, and it was a quick and easy process. I was recommended different hair products that would work well she even has a shop you can order from and get them delivered straight to your house! I got chunky warm tone blonde highlights that were all throughout the hair. Also got a trim and face framing. The process was long because of the detail and amount of hair I have but I was comfortable the entire time and it was absolutely worth it! I absolutely loved talking with her and I'm so happy with the results. Definitely look into her if you're into vivid and unique coloring!!

She mentioned it was not the usual to have delays so I appreciate her informing me that. Carly was my stylist and she did an excellent job. She kept telling me about the different products she applied on my hair and I was glad to see that it was minimalistic quantity that resulted in such great results for my hair for a couple days (until I washed again). Carly also took the time to give extra attention to my split ends which was my main concern and I appreciate her doing that. It makes you realize all the hard work that goes into coming up with great hair after a haircut and not just a quick shampoo and cut. I highly recommend this place and Carly did a great job!
