I am a recent renter and so far things have been fantastic. I moved in right when the huge winter storm hit. The heating units were not built to keep up with the cold and maintenance brought space heaters right away. They replaced my dishwasher as soon as I told them it was broken right after I moved in. They have been responsive and receptive. They salted and scraped the outside walkways when we got feet of snow, and they keep the property looking nice too! I feel I'm really getting bang for my buck and it's worth the rent. If anything changes, I will for sure update!!! read more

Warning: Bed bugs. Do not rent from this company. I rented an apartment from them and slept a total of 7 nights there before figuring out that I had become a bed bug buffet. They even brought in their own exterminator who confirmed the infestation but refused to acknowledge me after that. They stole 2 months rent from me. Luckily they "let" me out of the rest of the lease hoping I wouldn't sue them. I talked with the neighbors and they said previous resident also terminated their lease early. This was bad enough but throw in that the A/C didnt work the entire time either so I dont have much faith in anything this company does excluding collecting application fees. read more

We have been trying to communicate when them nonstop about a dire situation in our unit have been completely ghosted. We have TOXIC BLACK MOLD in addition to other types of mold growing in the ceiling, walls, floors, baseboard, and window boxes of our unit due to a leak that we have communicating with them about for THREE YEARS. Because of leaks we can't use our lights! Any time we flip a switch it trips our breakers. We have been told by the fire department that puts the building at risk for ELECTRICAL FIRE. Also, the windows that open to our fire escape both do not work and if there was to be a fire in the building we would be TRAPPED INSIDE OF OUR UNIT. We do not feel safe in our unit. We are not being provided a safe and habitable living environment by any means. We have never had any contact from the out of state landlord and TrueHome continues to raise our rent and charge us extra fees for their "services". The maintenance folks and fire department have told us that they visit our building (and our complex) more than anywhere else in the city. If you're looking for a dangerous and unhealthy living environment and a management company that is unresponsive, our building may be right for you. read more

We have been without smoke detectors since July (it's November). There are active leaks in our apartment that have not been addressed. Some of these leaks have soaked our floor and are currently soaking the walls above our cabinets. There is most definitely mold from all of the water damage we've experienced but no one will respond to the request to have it remediated. A window fell out and hit my father in the head. I've almost thrown our my back trying to use our windows because most of them don't function properly at all. We have put in service tickets for all of this and nothing has been done. The tickets have been open for months. We follow up on them regularly. A man was murdered on our lawn and no one ever came to clean the blood off of the building or speak to tenants. People illegally dump at our trash cans, steal our mail, all because they won't put in proper locks and doors. They have given our master keys to tenants and people have broken into the building and tried to break down our door. We had squatters on the first floor setting the alarms off and the fire department has told us that they have no way to get ahold of our landlord. They are here nearly once a week, sometimes more. There is no emergency on call number and no way to contact our landlord. We are being charged absolutely ridiculous fees for services we've never received. This is the worst rental situation we've ever experienced. We fear for our health and safety everyday. If I could give less than one star I would. read more

Review from Landlord using True Home Ohio as a property manager Terrible communication- They have multiple additional fees they charge your account for that they do not explain anywhere in onboarding documents or contract, they just appear charged to your account. Example, placing a tenant was explained as a straight percentage of first months rent. What was not explained anywhere in onboarding documents, contract, or even before I was charged for it, was the additional charges of $200 for photos and $125 for a walk through. Additional other random charges would appear on monthly statements like a $125 fee for pest control despite the lease stating that pest control was responsibility of tenant. These charges would just appear on my account, typically with just a description of "Maintenance". The tenant they placed ultimately had to be evicted due to non payment of November rent. They did not notify me of the delinquency. I noticed on the 16th that rent hadn't been paid and had to enquire with them about what was going on with the property. They replied that yes, the tenant was delinquent and that they had posted a 3 day notice on the 16th. At this time I also received another random charge to my account that when I asked what it was for, they couldn't tell me, so I informed True Home that I was terminating my relationship with them and instructed them to finish the eviction process, but to return the home to my possession once the tenant was out and that I did not wish to continue with them. The owner called to speak with me about the termination on 11/20 where I explained communication issues as the reason and he said he would work on that feedback. As of the beginning of December, True Home had not provided any additional updates to me on the eviction process or status of the delinquent tenant. I followed up with them and they stated that they filed for eviction on 11/20 and that I would be notified when a court date was scheduled. They never contacted me again after that and per online court documents, eviction wasn't filed until 12/6 with a court date scheduled for 12/27. The very next communication I received from them after they told me that they would let me know when a hearing was scheduled, was on 12/15 with a congratulations email for having my property re-leased with a signed lease effective for the end of this month. I am beyond livid and flabbergasted that they signed a lease with a new tenant after I stated that I wanted the property returned to me. They even never told me that the old tenant was out of the property. They could have sent an email at any point to update me to let me know that the tenant was out and that they had a referral for a replacement tenant and asked me if I wanted to move forward with the referral, but they kept me in the dark and signed a new tenant without my permission after I asked for the property returned to me. They also only gave me a one day notice for termination of services. I let them know that I hired a new PM and that I needed to know our official term date so that I could be onboarded with the new PM. the day before the new tenant moved in they told me that all services were canceled and that they would not be collecting rent for the tenant. So I had only one day to coordinate with my new PM because True Home could not properly communicate anything with me. I can't in good conscience recommend them due to these continued communication issues. Additionally Their contractors overcharge and recommend unnecessary work. I had 2 larger maintenance requests come through, one for a broken garage door and one HVAC not turning on. The contractor they had come out for the garage door stated that the whole door (which was less than 10 years old) needed to be replaced and it would be $1800. I googled the contractor on the quote to verify their credentials and their business could not be verified and their address came up as a Staples in Cold Spring. When I enquired with TrueHome about this, they had no explanation. I had Cincinnati Door and Window repair the door for $200. The contractor they had come out about the HVAC got things working (my assumption was it was a popped breaker) and then said that a whole new breaker box /main panel was needed and it would be $1500. I had a licensed electrician come out and look at the panel and was told it was fine and did not need replacing. No further issues with the panel since. read more

A man in our building has impersonated the owner multiple times to have other residents cars stolen by a tow company. The owner isn't man enough to do anything about it. Then when I talked to this other resident. He said the owner called. I took 2 Hamilton county sheriffs to the tow company to get my car back. This was the first month we lived here. read more

From the day I filled out the application to the day I got my keys I have had the most attentive and helpful experience from the staff. My leasing agent Bianca provided service that went above and beyond my expectations. She always answered my questions in a timely manner, she gave me instructions throughout the process and advocated for me when we hit a snag in the process. She gave me personalized attention and never made me feel like "just another tenant". Every time I needed to speak to her she was available. She was caring, understanding and compassionate when there was an issue with my move in date and she made sure I was in the know of everything that was happening. If you are thinking about leasing with them or hesitant at all, don't be. They have been the most professional agency I have worked with. These guys are rookies at best. I'm a landlord and wanted them to find a tenant for a property I have in Cincinnati. They locked me into a contract and then took 3 months (with no rent) to tell me that they couldn't manage the property. Then they tried to send me a bill for "work" they had performed on the house, and when I questioned the invoice they tried to say it was for a "permanent lockbox". I'm glad that they bailed on me because I found a much better property manager. read more

We have been living at our current residence for almost three years. True Home Ohio/Cincinnati Real Estate took over as property managers in May of 2019. We had several "mix ups" which left our property without lawn maintenance from May until late August. We had weeds growing several feet tall and the neighbors started commenting on the state of the yard. After not hearing anything from True Home Ohio we put in a maintenance request and received the email below. After reminding them that lawn maintenance was in our lease they responded with an apology on the "mix up". If we had not brought it to their attention I believe the property would continue to go without lawn maintenance. We also routinely received emails about a property that we do not reside in which reaffirms my assumption that they have a hard time managing which residents live at which property and what is covered in their contract. read more
