The name of this shop says it ALL!! Adam took my multiple design ideas that i had been trying to put together for years and combined them all and created an Eagle that is TRUE LOVE!! But what really transformed this masterpiece was the conversations and life experiences shared during our multiple hour sessions and Adam's ability to combine my vision with his creativity to create a wonderful work of ART! Additionally, the entire shop atmosphere and other artists were always cordial and forthcoming as we were developing a perfect eagle. THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!! I found True Love Tattoo Studios on Instagram while searching for tattoo shops in the area that offered specials for Friday the 13th. They were hosting a $25 tattoo special for May 13th for select existing designs with appointment preferred (and a deposit for $25) I called to inquire about the process and the lady that answered was very helpful, so I decided to go in on May 12 to choose a design, schedule the appointment and pay my $25 deposit. I was open to any artist after seeing the work on their website. We arrived about fifteen minutes before the scheduled appointment of 5:15 on 5/13 and were upstairs for tattooing by 5:15. I got my new ink done by Constantina! She was so sweet and professional, & I LOVE my tattoo. My husband got one done by her right after me and we were done by 5:45. The other employees were super friendly, and the overall process was organized and efficient too. There was no communication with the original artist, good guy just not 100% satisfied with the work that he did, nobody had a clue what was going on when I arrived tonight. On 06/25 Sunday, I really enjoyed my experience at True Love Tattoo with Mondo. I went in for my 2nd session to complete the 2nd piece. What I love about Mondo is incredibly responsive when I reach out to him. Making an appointment for a consultation was a breeze with Mondo. It feels good when you find someone incredibly warm and welcoming. He spent 4 hours with me on my initial consultation, choosing reference images and talking about ideas and placement. I felt no pressure and was not made to feel like a burden in any way. After the initial consultation, I put down a deposit, and was ready to come in to get my 2nd piece done. The sketches he had created were exactly what I had envisioned on my body, and we spoke about my apprehensions and desired size and placement. Mondo was incredibly supportive through it all and I let him be free in using his expertise in picking my colors and adding his years of experience! On the day of my appointment, I was overjoyed to see the dedication and care that was taken when it came to sanitation, the placement of the stencil, and comfort. As this was my last tattoo and I wanted this piece to be special. I was apprehensive about the pain. It ended up not hurting as much only towards the end of my 5-hour session. While tattooing, Mondo asked whether I'd like to take a break. Though we had prepared for 4 hours, the appointment ended up taking 5 hours. Mondo was super comforting and made sure to take the time to do it right. He really is a perfectionist when it comes to his work & his client, and both him and I are extremely happy with how it turned out. At the end of my 5 hours, he cleaned me up, took pictures and wrapped me up for the healing process. Overall, I am incredibly satisfied with my experience. More importantly, I feel like I have not only found a great artist but made a friend too. He also reaches out to you to make sure you are healing ok and if there are any questions or issues you are encountering after the fact. So my 17yo daughter has been begging for a nose piercing for a year. And finally, as a birthday present, I relented to her teenage rebellion. Bottom line ... it was a great experience from beginning to end. And spoiler alert! Mom got a piercing too. So let's get into it shall we? I found this shop through yelp. I was impressed with the reviews. I called to ask about piercing restrictions for minors. They explained I would need to fill out a form, get it notarized and that both of us would have to have IDs with us. So my daughter made an appointment online. We got to the shop located in a strip mall off of 17th street. Alyson the piercer was there to greet us. And wow. She was so professional and friendly. She inspected our form, had us sign paperwork and validated our IDs. She explained the nose piercing procedure in detail and showed us the sealed sterilized instruments. She was fantastic with my daughter making her feel extremely comfortable. The procedure was super quick and virtually painless. I started thinking that maybe I should get my navel pierced. It was pierced many many years ago but I took out the piercing maybe 10 years ago. Hey, if my daughter is going through teenage rebellion I can have a midlife crisis! Again, Alyson was great. She first tried to use my original piercing but discovered it was crooked ... something I was aware of and always disliked about my navel ring. She said let's just fix it and make it perfect. And I agreed. And now I love it. The shop is very clean and everyone was welcoming. Masks are worn by all staff and required for customers in the waiting area. Hand sanitizer is provided. I scheduled a tattoo, and overpaid the requested deposit assuming it would just go towards the tattoo. I communicated what I wanted to the artist, Mondo, and assumed we were good to go. The night before the appointment, I reached out to Mondo to confirm and he informed me that the location had changed and he "wouldn't be at the shop until after 3" (my appointment was at 11am). This was startling, but, the other shop was near, and my afternoon plans were cancelable. I'll reiterate that I confirmed, not the shop or professional.... When I got there, Mondo had the drawing but did not have an entire half of the tattoo that I had requested - he "missed" it in our communication, despite multiple messages and references to it. He tried to discourage the incorporation of this other piece, and instead said to just "get another tattoo" or to get this additional piece in a different location. I insisted that I wanted my original design, and Mondo went to the back, incorporated it as I asked, and then presented it to me as if it was his idea. When he did so, he sat next to me on the bench, and I was hit with a wall of alcohol smell. He made some edits on his iPad, and I saw how much his hands were shaking. At that point, having the change in location in time, the lack of awareness of what I had asked for, and the obvious inebriation (or withdrawal...) that Mondo was going through, I had alarm bells ringing to "get out of there." I said I wanted to "sleep on it." And left. I reached out to Mondo to request the overpayment over the deposit back, and was ignored. So, I reached out to the shop owner, who pretty quickly dismissed me and let me know he was unconditionally on Mondo's side. That did seem to encourage Mondo to finally respond - but his only excuse is that the shop location and times were out of his control (yet still not accounted for by the shop owner, either), and that he doesn't drink "during work" and always makes sure to "show up sober." Not too encouraging for someone making permanent art on your body! I can't speak for any of the other artists, or even the experience of being tattooed here, but after interacting with Mondo and the owner, I consider myself lucky for that. read more

I had no real idea of what I wanted. So I walked in, informed Alyson and Danny that I had no clue what I was doing and didn't want to be a jerk, please have mercy. They were extremely patient and reassuring, and Danny talked me through the whole process of making up my mind and figuring out my best possible option. My father called me "Little Bear," and so I got a tattoo of Papa Bear holding Little Bear in his arms. But the tattoo isn't the best part of today--though it is amazing, down to the delicate strands of fur and the sweetly closed eyes. (Danny is a magical needle wizard, friends.) I texted my mother that I was getting a tattoo as I filled out the paperwork, and she panicked. Guilt, begging, the whole nine. I showed her the result, and she was near tears. She loves it, and what it represents. She can't wait to get tattooed with me next time. I love the design, but I loved the experience even more. Every single person I spoke to--Alyson, Danny, and Erick--was kind, friendly, and genuinely cared about what they were doing and the experience everyone involved came away with. I've been to studios before and walked out with a sour taste in my mouth. I've seen friends leave places looking like a human ":/", all right? This is not that place. I have never felt so genuinely comforted after trips to the spa as I have at a place where I was stabbed in the arm several hundred times. Is that crazy? Maybe. But the artists here enjoy what they're doing, and are absolutely incredible at getting that across. They're friendly, comforting, and just genuinely lovely to be around. I understand why people get 'addicted' to tattoos. This experience was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. However, after an appointment i touched based about not being 100% happy and tried to book to come back for Adam to fix the work. Not only was Adam Facenda unethical and unprofessional that i decided to not even book the follow up/ touch up appointment going further. When he was made aware that i would not be coming back into True Love for any future appointments, he then proceeded to tell me i am a nightmare and to never return to his shop. He got there at about 4pm and began right away setting up to do my tattoo. A few months ago I came to the True Love Tattoo Salon with the aim of making a sentimental tattoo in honor of my beloved man. The idea was very simple and I thought that any tattoo master whose hands grow from the shoulders not from the asshole and who held the needle in his hands several times will cope with the task. I got master Eric Del Rosal (aka Bulldog). Eric looked like a seasoned rocker with a lot of life experience and an impressive long head of hair. He also assured me that the experience of tattooing is 30 years old and assured that he would do everything in the best possible way. And it was necessary to make a small heart on the wrist with the name of my man (3 letters). My only wish was symmetry. This is all I asked for nothing more. Mega master Bulldog said that he does not use the stamp as he is not a loser, but Mega Pro. well that's what happened in the end .... Absolutely asymmetrical heart, 3 curved letters and a scar on the left side. I burst into tears when I realized that this was the final version, then I calmed down and asked for a remake. Instead, Mega Pro Bulldog jumped out of his chair, threw down his gloves and ran away like an offended girl shouting that I am ungrateful and want too much and he did everything good I just did not appreciate ..... I was shocked by such customer service. Eric did not correct the careless work, did not return $ 125, did not apologize and did not even cover the tattoo with a protective film exposing me to the risk of infection. I left the cabin in tears. After some time, I contacted the owner of the salon, Adam, came to him, he met me on the street on the bench, looked quickly, said that he could fix it, but he was dissatisfied. When I asked for a refund, he said that this was not his concern, so I should myself call and solve this issue with Eric. And in general, Adam said, if you want money back then you have to tear the tattoo off you ..... And I just wanted to get a free tattoo ... No comment. I never returned to this salon .. I don't want to say that these guys are bad tattooists, they have a good portfolio, they probably can fill a dragon on their entire back and a lot more. But sometimes customer service, understanding and humanity are more important than skill. They both knew that I was a defenseless girl, a foreigner, my man not in America and could not drive up to talk like a man with man.. The guys just took advantage of my helplessness and demonstrated disgusting customer service. For this I hurt the most. and this is what I wanted to tell you. You can always correct your mistake and get out of the situation as a person. I found another master and fixed the tattoo. The scar still remained and the letters could not be corrected for one correction, so I would have to do one more or more to correct Eric's negligence, but now it looks much better. So the meaning of my review is that sometimes humaneness is more important than mastership... I recently lost my favorite septum jewelry and amongst the heartbreak, I had to hurriedly search for a new piece. I knew about True Love because my sister has had piercings done here so I decided to check it out. Alyson was the piercer in store that night and she was immediately warm as we entered. We browsed as she finished with another client and then she came over to help. They had a few cute pieces and I ended up settling on a titanium gold plated piece. She was sweet enough to sterilize it for me and assist me in inserting it, all while being very up front about the possibility that my septum piercing might have been too low for the jewelry to look good. Thankfully it worked out. She was so sweet! A day or two later I noticed an issue with the jewelry and after reaching out to her, she was extremely helpful in solving my issue. I have to tell the full story of the experience I had with True Love because it was great. Totally spontaneous, I dropped in on a Thursday afternoon wanting to get a small tattoo behind my ear. The girl at the counter was super chill, she called a tattoo artist down (the studio is upstairs) to talk with me about the design; he was completely honest with me, saying the design was totally doable but he was unfamiliar with ear tattoos so he was going to get one of the other artists to talk to me. I. loved. that. That showed me he had MY best intentions in mind; rather than just be interested in me for my money, he genuinely wanted me to have the best tattoo I could get. The beautiful Nirvana (@findingnirvana_) came downstairs and listened very attentively as I described what I wanted (a sort of seaweed/palm leaf), and in 10 minutes, she had drawn out exactly what I wanted. We went upstairs where some of the other artists were hanging out, and their stencil printer was kind of malfunctioning, so I had to wait 20-ish minutes before we could get started (New Girl was playing on their TV though, so I was kept entertained, lol). It took maybe 45 minutes to an hour to finish up my tattoo, and when she finished and I looked in the mirror, I was so IMPRESSED. She did an awesome job, everyone has a great attitude, I had a blast!
