I cannot believe it has been two years since I had been here. It was so peaceful and relaxing. They actually upgraded alittle but since I was there last. You can choose the music you want to listen to during your float. I chose "journey". The shower is so Amazing afterwards, too. The oxygen bar is so refreshing with some tea and water. A tranquil experience from start to finish. You are greeted by a knowledgeable expert that discusses exactly how the process works. The float tank room is extremely clean, relaxing, and everything I hoped for. Float sessions are one of my favorite forms of self-care, with more health benefits you can even imagine. I had my first float tonight and it was amazing. The product sells itself and I signed up for a membership on the spot. The shop itself and employees are extremely kind and informative. Very much like a spa, and it's immaculate. I have been to a lot of floats and its a good bit nicer than most of the other places I have been to. Multiple unpleasant visits. We live in the Porters Neck area, so the drive to the location is roughly 25 minutes. 1) My wife went to float, but the staff member working accidentally locked the keys in the room, making my wife's trip across town wasted. (She is a mother of two toddlers, time away is rare.) mistakes happen, she was comped a float. 2) Very next trip, (Comp) I was 20 minutes into a float (asleep) and the jets kicked on and the lights came on. I felt the float was cut short, but wasn't sure until I got out, washed up, and was able to check my phone. The float was cut in half. I was told it was due to a (power surge) and I was comped a float. 3) Called in to schedule one of my 2 "Comped" floats, or my 4 PAID floats, having a total of 6 total Floats saved under my account. I recently received a new debit card and the monthly membership had not processed the day before. I was told I needed to update account info before floating, (even though I have 6 floats saved, that I was either comped for bad experiences, or personally paid for). So I didn't set up the time slot, because I wanted to determine if this is a service I wanted to continue, having a bad taste for customer satisfaction. Later that night, I received a "No-Show" email, informing me I was charged a float since I didn't show up to the appointment, that I was told I couldn't attend without updating account info. Called about it, and was basically told, "oh-well" This is a shame, I really liked this place, as I was one of the first people to join when they opened. I believe it was the second day. Having been in a bad accident, I greatly benefited from the floats, and it helped curve my PTSD related to the accident. I understand it's a business, but when you've already paid for a service you should receive that service. Hopefully your experience is better than mine. The floats are life changing. read more

Loved it! You will too. Read the tips on the website first (don't shave or color your hair before you go, etc...), and give yourself 2 full hours to enjoy the experience. They want you there 30 minutes early for your first time. Do try the oxygen aromatherapy because it's only free the first time. Other reviews have gone into detail so I won't, but they've given you good information. I chose no light and music the whole time but you can choose differently. There's plenty of room to breathe so you won't get claustrophobic. I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep until I woke up LOL I was totally blissed out for hours afterward, slept really well, and am still relaxed the next day. $79 is a lot for a single session so try to get a Groupon. They gave me referral cards to hand out that are $49 for the first session which I'm super happy to share with my friends. After 10 referrals I get a free one so I'll be sending everyone read more

Great way to destress in a weightless environment. They are receptive to critique which is refreshing these days. The music was not the same sound track I had for the past 6+ sessions. It was fast beat, reverberated and disrupted the calming sensation I was accustomed to. I mentioned it to Justin post float and he made notes to NOT play that track for me again. Really interesting and really relaxing experience once I got around a little pre-float nervousness. Basically you get a little tour, you watch a quick video with some tips and then you are led into a very clean and very nice big shower room that also holds the float pod. Staff talk to you about showering, tips, the pod itself, and some options surrounding music, light, and the actual door to the pod. Then it is on. You shower, get inside, and basically relax--which actually is really easy and harder than you think. The time does go by quickly but I wouldn't just assume that on the front end bc I think it would mess up the relaxation process. Important thing to remember is that your body WILL AND DOES float. Without effort or intent. I did have to tell my neck to relax a couple times but mostly the experience was just enjoyable and calming and maybe a little weird but in a really fine way. After music kind of wakes you up gently, you shower real good bc epsom salt is what you were floating in and then you exit to the lounge. You pick oxygen, drink some herbal tea, drink some water and read about the benefits of floating--which they tout as physical and mental. I enjoyed reading the journals of other's experiences. Staff does not rush you. Immediate impressions immediately post: I feel both alert and relaxed. We will see if it helps with joint pain and the rest. I recommend. read more

After many intriguing Youtube videos about floatation therapy, I decided to give it a try. I found this True REST location in my area as well a Groupon so I made my first appointment. The goal of my session was to help myself relax and heal. I have been dealing with a lot of stress in my life, both personally and academically. This has lead to an increase in migraines. I know that one session would not be a life changing miracle, but I wanted to see if there would a slight difference. I made the appointment for a Monday evening through their online booking system, which was very convenient. I received a phone call reminder of my appointment the day of. I arrived at the spa without much expectation. I heard that everyone had a different experience. After filling out some paperwork, they gave me some spa sandals and led me to a room with reclining chairs, salt lamps and a TV to watch an orientation video. I instantly felt calm and relaxed as the video explained to me the process. Afterwards, I received a tour of the spa and was lead to my private room. As soon as the door open, my jaw dropped. I had seen videos and pictures of the tank online, but in person, it was spectacular. I was told of all the materials in the room, such as the towels, bandage, etc. I was informed of the different features in the tank, such as the intercom system, the lights system, the sound system, the spray bottle. I then was instructed to put in earplugs, take a lukewarm shower, and then proceed to my float. I opted to have music at just the beginning and end of my session as opposed to throughout. As I laid down for the first time in the float time and closed the lid, it was sensation I had never felt before. The effortless flotation was incredible. I was so fascinated by the science and feeling of it that I momentarily forgot the purpose fo my session. For the hour of the float, I was in a state of deep mediation. I was aware of my surroundings, but I was able to completely relax my body and clear my mind, which is something that I haven't been able to do for a while. For the last ten minutes, I played with the different colored lights and the feeling of the dense water before it was time to shower. The shower was incredible. The waterfall shower-head paired with the hot water was a perfect end to my float session. I appreciated the complementary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash they provided which smelled really good and left my hair feeling soft and clean. I was invited to wind down in the lounge area. I poured myself a cup of tea, which was sadly lukewarm, while I read through the books of testimonials guests have written about their float. I really enjoyed learning about how their sessions have helped them heal from their daily stresses. There is an oxygen bar that I decided not to try, maybe next time. When I was checking out, they told me about the membership that they offered and told me a short description about each of the options. I said that I was going to think about it, and they did not push any further which I greatly appreciated. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. I was able to sleep really well that night and was in a calm state of mind for the rest of the week. The staff were really friendly. The facility was extremely clean. I went to True Rest this past weekend to give it a try since it had just opened a few weeks ago. You step inside the pod after showering and submerge yourself in 93 degree water filled with epsom salt. Relaxation plus! My stiff neck and shoulders never felt better. Everything is super clean and sanitized and I was not leery of floating in a pod that had been used by other people. I felt rejuvenated and relaxed at the same time. Monthly memberships are available which include a hit at the oxygen bar after your float. I highly recommend a visit. read more

My sister and I went for her birthday last March we had a float bought for us ..... soooo we figured why not . We float and come out only to be charged for our session . Whatttt???? This was purchased for us .... no it wasn't . After a run around , my sister and I bought the special , the one where you get a free float with a float ..Keep in mind you can cancel anytime and keep your floats ( the ones that are purchased ) but to cancel you had to pay the following month. We did , and in the meantime we accumulated 3 more floats..... each . We went in yesterday and ask for one of our floats . We were told that our purchased floats had expired after 6 months .. ( after you cancel ) Whattt!?!? We were never told they expire . We were told that you keep all your floats regardless. Needless too say . Her and I spent $140 apiece for ONE FLOAT .. never again !!!
