I had a wonderful "binge" experience at the Awakening Spa in Myrtle Beach. The spa itself was very intimate and relaxing. The dressing room was clean and well stocked. The staff were all very courteous and professional. I had the relaxing, sea salt detox soak as a precursor to the facial and massage that followed. What a delightful experience! The Awakening Renewal Facial with the additional Guasha treatment with Maria was amazing! I was very pleased with how she performed the facial and her explanation of how to use the Guasha technique with my take away stone. I then had the deep, relaxing massage with Imani. The additional Peppermint Oil Scalp treatment was exceptional! I smelled so good all afternoon! I also bought the Honey Heel Glaze to take home to treat my feet as a reminder of my wonderful experience. I have already recommended the spa to a friend who lives in the area and will definitely plan to go back on my next trip to Myrtle Beach! read more

What a pleasant surprise! We got there and were greeted immediately. The lady took us to the dressing rooms and showed us the waiting room. They had teas & snacks available throughout. We had the couples massage with a couples soak. We did the soak first for about 25 mins. They had two glasses prefilled with mimosas & a carafe as well. Truffles (Lindtt... lol). The soak room could use a paint touch up. They rang a bell to let us know the soak was over and ready for the massage. We were taken to the room. Each masseuse asked us where we wanted them to focus on. It was roughly an 80 mins massage! We felt amazing after. They made sure to give us water & sit for a second. Only in the area for 2 days but they were able to get me in. Front staff were very friendly and kind. Could see they enjoyed there job there. Smiles and friendly. Very clean and they are very attentive to privacy and comfort. Massage therapist ugh always forget name. She was amazing also my mom received a different one and she is picky but walked out loving her massage also. Then the FACIAL no words she was amazing. I'll start with saying our masseuses and facial clinician were AMAZING!!! There services were the best we've ever had...The Grove Park Inn included! However, if the front office can't orchestrate and verbalize the prices, it's all lost. I spoke with the front desk less than 24 hrs before our spa appointments and specifically asked what our total amount would be so I was prepared for a smooth check in/out process. I was told $696. I knew 20% was a mandatory charge for service, then that's part of the cost, which I'm fine with... Quote THE TOTAL COST. Not a derogatory number that doesn't apply. Then when we were checking out I was told around $580 and I said "is that for everyone" because I was planning for $696. Then another women came over and said "no, it's $848"... ok, what?! Long review short, quote the actual price when asked and have a front office staff trained and equipped with services provided and cost associated because it definitely takes away from the amazing spa treatments provided. read more

I have to give a HUGE shoutout to The Awakening Spa for the most amazing and thorough massage appointment I've had in my LIFE. I have seriously never been this pampered. I booked a couples massage (last minutes to beat it all) and now I want to go back every week We had an 80 minute shiatsu session that was DIVINE. The masseuse was able to get the knots out of my shoulders I've been lugging around for years. I also got bit by a dog last month and had some knots still in the muscle that are completely gone now! I feel like she hit the reset button for me We ended with a mineral soak for two that was a perfect finisher for such a relaxing morning. The entire facility is GORGEOUS. So comfortable and relaxing. The staff is amazing and so friendly (super shout out to Lisa Harper, you are an Angel girl) If you are wanting to be treated like royalty and leave feeling like you got a total upgrade to your musculoskeletal system I cannot recommend this place more!! I came for a swedish massage and had such a wonderful experience. I was greeted warmly in a nice and clean environment. The robes were soft, light, and luxurious, and all of the products such as lotions and scrubs were available to use and smelled amazing! The area to wait was nice and cozy with blankets, magazines, tea and water and the chairs were soooo comfortable. The actual massage?-Even better! Unfortunately, I don't remember the therapist's name (something with an L!), but I highly recommend her! All of the staff were nice and it was very relaxing and everything I needed. I would absolutely recommend this place and look forward to going back the next time I visit! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful couples massage. He had a therapist named Helen who did amazing work on his neck, shoulders, and back. My boyfriend is also very ticklish on his feet and she was able to treat his feet and not give him one tickle! My masseuse Lakyra was super sweet and was able to treat all my spots. The facial I got from Maria afterwards was just heavenly! She also made some great recommendations for my skin and how to treat my face afterwards. Horrible experience... I was staying at resort where brochures posted all over the hotel advertised a Winter Bliss Special for $175. When I went to book I was informed that Special changed that morning to a Spring Special for $195. It was still a 55 minute massage and facial with seasonal names for the treatments. The resort was not busy since early March before spring break. Customer focused businesses would have informed me that special had changed but still have honored the prior special since it was posted all over hotel during my stay. I will not go here as a matter of principal. I also went in the spa two times earlier that week to try to book and the staff always appeared to be unorganized, rushed and unfriendly. Not what you expect your greeting to be at a spa. Spa is also located on a hotel floor with rooms and not welcoming at all. read more

Lanora and Lakira delivered an amazing 80 minute massage. The bed temperature was appropriate for the time of year and to our liking. We got a couples Swedish massage with foot treatment, hot stones and aroma therapy add ons. Bliss is the best way to explain it. Both ladies read our intake forms and listened intently as we communicated what was going on with our bodies. She skillfully massages my post surgical area without hurting me. The tension in my neck and lower back were gone. I almost fell asleep at one point. My only negative comment was outside of the spa's control. There were folks in monster trucks all weekend long driving down the strip reving their engines and playing loud music. That could be heard several times throughout our spa experience. Maybe increasing the spa music volume would help with that?? We ended the spa day with a couples salt bath. We had champagne and truffles with our tons of bubbles. My fiance and I absolutely loved it. Would totally do this again. It was a no phone zone so sorry, no pics. read more

I wish I could do 2 separate reviews. I received a massage that was fantastic but I also received a facial that was probably the worst I've ever experienced. My friend who had the same services got a facial before mine. She had a reaction to one of the products and had a horrible red swollen face for the rest of the day. I then had to wait 45 min after my massage to get my facial. Then when it came to my turn she proceeded to tell me she was so scared about my skin doing the same that I would get a cold facial. She did a cleaner and a exfoliater and proceeded to tell me I was also having a reaction I then got soaking wet cold towels soaked on my face and was told it was because I had been in the sun. Which was not true since I had flown in for vacation that very morning. She then put a mask on my face and rubbed my feet for 15 min. Took the mask off and told me I was finished. My skin looks the exact same as before and quite frankly I'm very irritated that I paid $100 for that service. read more

I went here with 4 other girls for a bachelorette spa day and had an amazing experience. Theresa and Anna at the front desk were extremely helpful. I was coming down from New York and planned this with theresA. She walked me through every step and we all had a seamless spa day. Out massage therapists left us in a trans lol we came out so relaxed from our treatments. My therapist was Kathleen. I'm sorry I don't remember the other ladies names but they were phenomenal.
