I decided to go in and have a look, wow, it is packed with shabby chic, retro and vintage style items like room dividers, framed prints, tea towels, the biggest round wall clock I've ever seen, large format art, decorative bird cages and you know those Keep Calm and Carry On posters...well they've got them on tea towels here plus lots, lots more. It has three rooms full of anything shabby chic and as for retro/vintage there is nothing actually here from that era it's only based upon. The Shop Next Door is joined to Kidzone with a doorway in the centre room so you can walk directly through to Kidzone. Rundle Mall Strandbags have great staff, who are helpful when you are buying, and when returning a damaged product. I brought a bag, and had to return it within a month as the strap broke off. The lady was lovely, and organised for it to be replaced right away. If I'm buying a bag for 3o bucks or so, I don't expect it to last, but when I spend over a hundred I expect it to last more than a month. Unless I see something I really like and it's on special, I tend to avoid Strandbags.

Randall's Hardware is no different except that it is a part of the Thrifty Link Hardware franchise and usually a family operated and run independant business with support. Having said that it is the only hardware store on Prospect Rd so they've done a good investment and have the market cornered. They are absolute troopers as their hours are long and whatever business they make is well deserved. Randall's carry a complete range of hardware and outdoor supplies and equipment, enough to perform any maintenance jobs in and around the home.

Spotlight has such a large range from cushions, bedding, material in every shape and color and texture, craft, curtains, decorations, bathroom items, sewing machines to storage. The ladies were always lovely, little, old and experienced, you could tell they'd been sewing for decades. I used to love trawling through the mountains of material, picking out what colour I'd like my clothes and touching everything! Even though it's located within the ugliest shopping centre around (in my opinion), Spotlight will always have a fond place in my heart and be the only attraction to Clovercrest shops.

Spotlight always look like the first day of after Christmas sales have just ended and the staff look just as frazzled. I have to give them some credit, people coming into this shop are always looking for something specific and always seem to hijack staff for long periods of time to fulfil whatever craft idea they have. Spotlight has a huge range of textiles, crafts, art supplies and household goods at very low and reasonable prices. They also host classes and workshops for different craft ideas and children during the holidays. It can just be a bit frustrating getting through the experience.
