With the quality, selection, and superb service they offer, I may just make the trip here more often than I thought. My local hardware store really put me in a bind a couple of weekends ago. I had reserved a core aerator the night before for a 4 hour time frame. When I got to the store, they told me that all of the rentals were out and they didn't have me on the list. Frustrated, I called everyone around and Locust Ace Hardware was the only place that had one. I talked to Zack over the phone and to my delight, Ace was $10 cheaper than any store near Charlotte. This made it (almost) worth the drive! Arrived early Saturday morning and not only was my unit ready, they had it sitting out front ready to load, which Zach and another employee did for me. The aerator was in great shape, clean, full of gas, and ready to go. When I got back they helped me get it back out of my van without question. Service-wise, these guys are above and beyond what I'm used to at a hardware store and honestly I wish they would set up shop near the University area! I needed a dozen of bags of compost on my second trip and Zack ran to the task of loading it for me. My one last item on my list, a 3" PVC sewer clean-cut cap, and Zack knew exactly what I was talking about, ran inside to grab it, and met me at the register. The store itself is well laid out with an extensive selection of all your springtime essentials. Their display of Stihl power tools and attachments was impressive and the Big Green Egg area was also more of a showcase than you would expect in your average hardware store. Fittingly, there is also a gun/knife shop in the back of the store. They have everything from your big brand pistols and rifles, to spare magazines, cleaning kits, ammo, and hard to find replacement parts. Almost worth the trip? No, definitely worth the trip! I can't believe I'm saying it but Ace Hardware Locust has won my business hands down. While I'll probably get my staple hardware needs from Lowes, it looks like I've found my home for big/special hardware purchases and equipment rentals.

Why change the formula but not the name or color code? Refuse to do anything so now I have a $80 can that's useless. Guess it's time to pick a new color and go to Benjamin Moore where they don't play these stupid games and waste the customers money. If I have to repaint the whole room and change the color, SW isn't benefiting from it.

Deli looks great but have not sampled their offering. Over the years, I have bought gas probably a dozen times and always competitive with gas stations in more developed areas. They do the community they serve great service. Don't have to drive to Hickory, Lincolnton, Mooresville or Denver to get your provisions.

I didn't know what it was either but I purchased one at one of the big box stores, came home to spread the rings on my truck and the tool broke. Literally broke in two. Went online to see if I could get one on the website that is named after the Brazilian rain forest and they only had the bad kind as well. I decided to try Potts to see if they had what I needed. It's a REAL hardware store so tools, fertilizer, seed, nuts, bolts, and more. They had exactly what I needed at a great price! Earlier this week, I stopped back in to Potts to get a few keys made. Most places are relying on machines to cut keys and the machines don't always get it right. The guys at Potts custom cut two keys that worked perfectly! They've earned my business - period. They explained to me what they had. I rode to their business to check it out. This place sells and services many kinds of yard/farm equipment items. He had many riding mowers to chose from. He also had ATVs, edgers, tractors, gold carts, tillers, and other such items. The staff was very kind and informative. They delivered my mower for free! They fully serviced my mower before they dropped it off. The price was more than fair. Several of my coworkers are regular customers here. They are satisfied with their service and repair. Their CS support line basically told me to go away. They left me with no solution to the problem nor did they identify the problem when the flooring guy came out to look at the work to be done. Now I have half of a house with sub flooring and half of a house with the original LVP. When I asked the contractor to please put down what they ripped out he laughed at me. I would be fired and homeless if I treated my customers this way. Sad thing is I am old enough to remember the first 5 stores and the quality of CS is horrible compared to the 60's and 70's.
