The quality of service has dropped greatly. I have been a customer for a few years now. When I initially signed up the field manager was very attentive and would come out to look at problems if I experienced any. My back lawn which was new from SOD 2 years ago is dying. I've called and requested that someone with knowledge look at my lawn. Nobody seems to want to return a call or come out and look. The field service tech first says I need to water more and sprays, then on a follow up visit says maybe its bugs or fungus and sprays more. The once beautiful new back lawn is brown and dying. You have notified me that if I prepay for the entire year upfront, I will get a discounted rate but with this level of service I'm not feeling good about it. If you don't want my business just say so and I will move to one of the many competitors in my area. read more

I hired Tru-Green for my lawn service and pest control in Port Orange, FL because of being treated disrespectfully by another company. I paid up front for the full year. Tru-Green has caused large areas of my lawn to have fertilizer burn! I have been promised a full refund for the lawn service of $850. I'm STILL waiting for that amount to be credited back to my credit card! Large areas will now have to be re-sodded, costing me MORE money! I have, needless to say, already cancelled their lawn service & will be using another pest control service after this year. These people only want your $$$$! Treated my yard with poisonous chemicals in error in my organic yard! They had the wrong address. It should have been my neighbor across the street. I called and got their call center, left a message and was told a manager would call me back. I used Trugreen for more than twenty years and was satisfied, but the service deteriorated a couple of years ago and I finally dropped it. A couple of years ago, they got my schedule so out of whack that I went six months without a treatment and most of my yard went to weeds. Repeated calls did no good so I showed up at the office off Clyde Morris. THe manager was useless but one woman did get things straightened out for a while. A few months ago, a guy did show up and say that he wanted to regain customer trust and promised to look into my problems. I didn't hear from him again and dropped Trugreen. I have to say I am very disappointed with this company. I signed up for two services and they overbilled me. Our agreement was for a discounted half-cost service as a start and they billed $130+ instead of $30. This is clear fraud and when you look online at other consumer complaints you will see that this is a big issue at the corporate level. I even solicited a 3rd service and asked that salesman to alert the business of the issue. I never received a call till I called them to cancel. I tried to call the Daytona Beach TruGreen office but ended up transferred to the corporate office. All in all, I would not do this service. The results from the treatments they did in the first weeks of our agreement did not seem to do much. Very disappointed in the two men who were here in our home. I also was told that the products they are using are totally safe and that is just not the truth. The truth is: 53% of TruGreen's products include ingredients that are possible carcinogens. 41% of TruGreen's products include ingredients that are banned or restricted in other countries. 34% of TruGreen's products include ingredients that are known or suspected endocrine disruptors. They also claim that they have a 4-star rating with Trustpilot right on their website! This is false and they have a 2-star rating with over 5,000 reviews. We had Trugreen at our home in Dallas several years ago and had a pretty good experience. Then, I set up our lawn treatment service with this Trugreen office about six months ago. For the first several months, everything has been great and the guys who came to do the treatments were all professional and seemed to do a good job. Then, about a month ago I called to add the tree & shrub service to my plan and the person that I spoke to was completely incompetent and after more than an hour-and-a-half on the phone, it did seem that he had finally set up my new service. The service started at my home and everything seemed to be going as planned, but then I received several bills in the mail showing that, for some reason, my lawn service had been changed to my old TX address (they literally sent people out to do a treatment at our old house where we haven't lived for nearly 7 years!) When I called customer service to get this resolved, they apparently ended up canceling all of my accounts, even though I had pre-paid for my lawn and my tree & shrub service up front. I have requested that a manager call me so we can get this resolved and I have yet to hear from anybody (they don't seem to care at all). At this point, I just want a refund on what I paid so I can transfer my service to another company as this has been an absolute nightmare and I have wasted hours of my time I will never get back. read more

I've had to re-sod twice; I continually try to work with them and was recently told "If you're not happy, find someone else". If I could give TRU-GREEN a ZERO I would. So, we just moved in and saw a truck in the neighborhood so I stopped him. He said they already treat our neighbors yard and would be happy to give us a quote. It all sounded really great, he was friendly professional and thought he could have our lawn looking beautiful in just a couple treatments so we signed a contact for a full year (8 treatments) and PAID NEARLY $500.00 IN ADVANCE. Well 2 weeks went by and they never made any contact. We saw them come and go last Wednesday but they never stopped at our house so we immediately called in and were told to ignore the truck, WE WERE ON the schedule for last week just not that day...hmmmm, really. She couldn't give us any details on which of the following TWO DAYS it would be or when we'd be receiving our courtesy call and text 'the day before' as initially we were told they always call and text the day before treatment so we'd know they would be coming. Well it looks like now we're into ANOTHER week and still no contact. Needless to say we're canceling today and disputing our card if we get ANY crap getting a full refund. read more

I saw an ad on Facebook for the first treatment at 50% off. The sales woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely professional, and was knowledgeable about the possible services provided. I was told that an all-encompassing package would run me around $2000 for the year, however the services I selected wound up being around $1000. I was informed that each treatment would be $106 and the treatments would occur every 4 to 6 weeks. After each service, TruGreen would charge your card on file, or they offered a prepay option with a discount. With the 50% off promotion, my first service would be $53. Just a few days later, a technician came out and sprayed the yard. By the end of the day, some of my weeds had already started to wilt! The only problem was, my credit card was billed for $160. I called in to see what the issue was, and I was told that my yard was also sprayed for chinch bugs, which is considered a different service. Therefore, $53 + 106 (and some change) = $160. I wasn't thrilled about having the second service and charge snuck in there, and told the woman I spoke with as much. She apologized profusely, and decided that because it was not adequately explained, that due to certain services having to occur at certain times of the year, occasionally the services would overlap; she refunded me the entire chinch bug treatment. I asked if there were any more surprises, and she told me that there were not. Four days later, I received an automated call indicating that a fertilizer treatment was scheduled for the following day. When I called, I was told that another charge of $106 was about to come through. At this point, I cancelled the service because from the first treatment to the third, was a span of literally five calendar days and $270. Had the service timing and frequency been initially explained to me by the third person I spoke to, I probably would have kept the service. Twice they canceled never called me back to reschedule then pop up another day to perform the job they were supposed to do I asked the technician what are you doing today he says I'm here only to do the mosquito treatment yet I was billed for two jobs I called them back no return call until two days later by then they showed up and performed another function which I do not see with my eyes. When I finally get to speak to them to inform them that I was canceling the services they asked why I stayed it for financial reasons after I get off the phone with in a short little while I was billed for two jobs totaling over $200 mind you I told him for financial reasons didn't even complain to them directly about them not showing up them not calling me back so for that I read them a one star thank you read more

Not pleased with service and outcome. After 3 applications, my yard has not improved infact I am pretty sure that I have more weeds now. Maybe its because the Specialist only spends 4 minutes at my home. I contacted them after the last application and no one contacted me back about my concerns. Trugreen......TRUPATHETIC or Trurip-off is more like it. 3 weeks, 3 visits, twice fertilized 3rd visit just politely let the tech go because once again no insecticide for grubs AGAIN which IS part of my program. I do not believe they use adequate or enough if any insect repellent at all. Now I have armadillos digging up my sod. All this after twice talking to customer service who WAS supposed to RECTIFY the situation. No manager return phone call which was promised twice as was a manager visit which also was a no show. We just wanna warn everybody with the terrible service that we had in the last two years with True Green lawn Care. They do not show up when scheduled to do a service. They keep you waiting all day long and do not call. If you are out of town they put a tag on your lawn like they sprayed.( we have them on our security camera tapes doing this) The last straw was this week when they pulled up in our driveway and typed out there service bill. They hang it on our door a long with a tag on the lawn like they sprayed. My husband was working in the front office and watched the whole thing. ( we also have it on security tape) We kept calling True Green over and over again because our yard looked so bad. Our yard and trees, plants and bushes are full of weeds, scales and bugs.Customer service is terrible they never answer the phone or call you back. Trugreen has been extremely disappointing. I received a reasonable quote over the phone but when I was charged for the service it was $20+ more for the second treatment, $140+ more for the third treatment! They enrolled me in easy pay without my consent. I checked my credit card statement which showed how much I was over charged. The Trugreen website said I was charged one price, the credit card statement another. Very shady business dealings. Not happy at all. read more

If I could give less on the star rating boy I sure would .I've read some of the review s on here and on the tru green website.i find it hard to see how there lawns are so great and beautiful someone must have taken pics of another company's lawn services .I had new irrigation system put in and new st Augustine Seville put in about 5 month ago .I've had tru green at my property for almost 4 months and my lawn looks worst than ever and I've called them about 7 times to send a field manager to meet me at my property to discuss the issues my lawn is experiencing.and I've yet seen anyone or got a call from anyone.but they did do my last feeding for free by the same man who sprays my yard like he's rushing through my yard as if he has to beat how fast he can be done my yard.im so disappointed ,with this needless to say I'm calling a different company I'm gonna cross my fingers ive spent about 6,000 on my yard and I'm not gonna let them beat me down I water my yard 2 to 3 times a day the man that sprays my yard didn't know it was st Augustine he said it was Bahia ,what's that tell you? read more

I have used Trugreen patiently for almost a year and a half. I feel strongly enough about my negative experience that I am writing my first-ever online services review. In summary, I am extremely disappointed in both the results the company has achieved in my lawn as well as in the customer service I have received. The primary issue has been with the service tech. Over a period of ~6 months, several portions of my lawn (which receive plenty of sun and controlled watering) have gone from beautiful to virtually dirt. Each time our service tech visits, he leaves a note but never mentions the problem areas. I have met with him multiple times in person and he says he does not know what the issues are (once it was clearly fungus and another section is clearly sod webworms (the moths were present during our conversation)) and that "it is St. Augustine, it will grow back in". I have contacted management multiple times (Mike Winn in Daytona). After three attempts I was finally able to get Mike out to the house in July and he was friendly, professional and able to describe the various issues with the grass. He had our tech come back the next week and treat for the various issues and our yard improved notably over the subsequent 2-4 weeks, however after that period it began to degrade again in two of the same areas and one new area. After three calls and voicemails to Mike over the last month, I received one return phone call with a promise to come out (which he never has) and no response to the last two phone calls. After spending an entire summer and now some of fall with our back yard looking poorly and tracking dirt in the house, I am finally giving up on Trugreen and Mike Winn and moving on to another company. I do think that which service tech you have makes all the difference in the quality of the service. I am disappointed that Trugreen was unable to provide quality service for us and I would NOT recommend Trugreen Daytona to anyone. read more

I paid in advance for lawn aeration - big mistake. The aeration technician arrived yesterday, and worked approx. 10 minutes aerating my medium sized lawn. Needless to say, a large percentage of my lawn was not touched by the aeration machine. Very unsatisfactory. I've also had TruGreen lawn care service since June. There has been no improvement - in fact, the lawn on one side of my house continues to thin out. read more

Mike Carter, my service technician, is always pleasant, always greets me by name, and keeps me well informed. It took a while (six months or so) to get my lawn "up yo snuff", but now it really looks great. Still have some problem with "Bermuda grass" mixed in with my St. Augustine, but otherwise my two year experience has been great. read more

I hired TruGreen almost two years ago and my lawn was beautiful. Over the last couple of years it has been gradually getting worse and every time I complain, they try to up sale me on additional services. I pay more than $60 a month for their service. Now, almost half of my lawn is weeds. Today I decided to watch the security cameras to see exactly what they are doing each month. I saw they truck pull up, the guy get out and walk over to the corner of my front lawn and stare at some construction going on. Then he went back to his truck and sat in there for a few minutes. He gets out, walks over to where the old sign is (freshly sprayed lawn by TruGreen) and put in a new sign, while leaving the old sign just laying in my yard. He then walks to my front door and leaves me a receipt for the "service" and even has on there that he used almost 14 gallons of chemicals and suggestions for additional services. He then walks back to his truck and drives away! He never even pulled out a hose off his truck! So for years, this company has been scamming me, clearly! I am so disgusted in this company that I want to file a formal complaint. Don't waste your money. You'll just end up with a lawn that looks awful, a constant up-sale of services, and service men who put a bill on your door while not actually providing the service. Terrible. When I bought my house at the end of 2014 and the entire yard was in great shape. I wanted to keep it that way so when I heard my neighbor had a chinch bug issue, I wanted to hire a lawn service to prevent my lawn from becoming a waste land. As it turned out, TruGreen was going door to door at that time selling their service and told me they could take care of it, no problem, so I signed up. I'll admit that the front lawn has remained in pretty good shape - this is the area where they are able to spray some kind of liquid chemical on the lawn. However, I guess their hoses cannot reach around to the back of my lot, so they use a dry chemical delivered by a hand-held device. Well, now my backyard is a waste land. Of course at first they blamed my sprinkler system - I don't run it enough or it's not working correctly - and yet nothing has changed since I first bought the house when the lawn looked great. Then they said chinch bugs got it - well, no kidding, that's why I signed up to begin with - to prevent that. I even told the sales guy about my neighbor's problem and that I wanted to prevent my lawn from being ruined by the same thing. I specifically asked if that's part of what they do and I was assured it was. Obviously whatever it is they do, it doesn't work. I don't blame the tech - I see him doing his job with what they give him to use. The front lawn is fine where they use the liquid chemicals, but my backyard lawn is gone. So obviously what they didn't tell me is that they would only be able to do my front lawn but would charge me for doing the entire lawn even though there's nothing they can do for the backyard. I don't understand why they just don't have longer hoses to deliver the liquid stuff they use on the front lawn, so they can do the backyard also. I've had propane gas delivered to my underground tank that's in my backyard. If those guys can reach back there, then TruGreen should be able too as well. Anyway, the tech that does my lawn means well, he offers suggestions to try to bring back the lawn. But I just feel like I've been ripped off paying for the entire lawn to be serviced when clearly they can really only do the part that they can reach with the liquid stuff they use - but they're perfectly happy to charge you for the entire lawn even though the stuff they use in the back is not effective - and they continue to charge you for the entire lawn even though they let half of it die. read more

I use to use TrueGreen for years then I had to let them go as I was not happy with the status of my lawn. I went to the private small companies and had good and bad experiences but last summer my lawn hit its all time low. I finally decided to give TrueGreen another try. WOW! has the company came light years ahead of the rest. Our Technician Mike Carter upon our first meeting told me to save my money and not re-sod a large section of my front yard. He assured me to give him a chance and by spring he would have my yard on track. WOW! he did exactly what he said and went over and beyond my expectations. My St Augustine is fuller and the turf thicker than it has been in years. He is a stellar employee for your company and needs to be recognized not just for being good at the job. His customer service and quaintness is above the call of duty. As busy as he is if you're there when he comes he takes the time to make you feel as if you're his only customer. The new customer portal and customer service gives you that small company feel that most desire. We just sold our home and as sad as we are to lose Mike Carter and this great yard we have turned the info over to our buyers and have just set up service for our first treatment in our new House in Oveido.
