We paid upfront for 7 TruGreen service visits and TruGreen only had come out 5 times before they started charging us for a renewed service. Could not reach anyone in the USA as our calls would roll over to another Country that was somewhat difficult to understand, and a phone line delay made it difficult to explain. On their behalf our service did start in late July which could have made this issue difficult for them to track in their system? You'd be better off hiring down a 10 year old in the neighborhood to do your grass. He would certainly have better customer service. They have everything setup to start your service online. I never once talked to anyone to set up any account and start a service but there is no way to cancel online?! Thats a big red flag about the company. I used them for 2 years. Was absolutely hounded by phone calls from them wanting to sell me more stuff. So I got tired of it, spent thirty minutes at work to call them to cancel. A week later I come home and there is another true green sign in my yard. A week later they send another bill. Now I have to spend another 30 minutes during work to call and cancel. they have put down stuff to control weeds, fertilizing and pre emergent. Only problem was that they were to meet with my husband the next afternoon and all our questions were to be answered before they did ANYTHING. Guess they forgot they told me by text nothing be done and all. They have now treated my yard without our permission and trespassed as we are on private street. They did not have permission to treat our lawn. All we have gotten is a bunch of bullshit. Owning an acre, lot of it on a hill full of weeds is not not the best business practice to kill all the weeds. We are looking at our option. Don't waste your money. Tru-Green is a scam. Four times we caught them skipping our entire back yard. What is interesting is that every time, they mis-represented on service documents that they serviced the entire yard and applied the chemicals in the amounts of the full yard. That means that they are skimming chemicals to cut costs ... and that regulated chemicals are being mis-represented as to how much is used. Surely that has to be a violation of the license holder of the person who is applying them. Anyway after the fourth time of catching them doing this ... which you think they'd be smarter about considering how many people have cameras on and around their house ... I had had enough and I called and cancelled our services, but they didn't cancel anything on their side. So a few weeks later a tech came out and serviced the yard and charged us again. I called to cancel a second time and was told everything was cancelled ... even got an email from the rep saying everything was cancelled. Then today someone shows up and performs a service and charges our card again. I called to cancel ... now for the third time. I was told they could not cancel them and a manger had to reach out to me and until then they couldn't do anything. If you are OK paying someone to service half your yard and want to be in a lifetime contract ... Tru-Green is for you. If not I highly encourage you to go somewhere else. They will not allow you to cancel. Apparently using Tru-Green is like joining the mafia ... once you get in, you can never get out. read more

Dishonest and manipulative sales tactics!! Beware. When I signed up they explained someone would come out and evaluate my lawn by walking it and doing a soil test. This was to ensure they used the appropriate mixtures, etc. my primary concern was weeds. Long story short, they never inspected my lawn and didn't treat for my primary concern which was weeds. THEN they try to charge me over $50 over the agreed price saying they treated for bugs after they inspected my yard, which they didn't even look at the lawn. Today I get a call from a salesperson (Chris) saying that when they treated last time that the technician noticed a significant bug problem in my landscaping and they would keep spreading and destroy all of my landscaping if we didn't set up a series of treatment for them. One small problem, I DON'T HAVE ANY LANDSCAPING!! Needless to say I called today to cancel, I refuse to do business with a company that clearly is just calling customers to say they have an issue just so they can get additional treatments. I will be exploring options to bring light to this company's sales practices to a broader audience. read more

This company is overpriced! I spent $400 for my services...and have yet to kill the weeds!! They have been out 3 times to kill the violets (must be killed in the fall). Now, it's too late to do another treatment before I do the over-seeding. When I call, I'm on hold for at LEAST 15 minutes before I can speak to anyone. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone in the St. Louis (Fenton) office, so don't even bother trying. You can't even leave a voicemail. Recently I received a personally-addressed advertising mailer telling me that "153 of my neighbors already have TruGreen lawns", which is rather interesting considering the fact that I live in a very large townhouse/condo/apartment complex, and all of our lawncare/landscaping services are performed by a commercial landscaping contractor. BEWARE: I'm about to post video of TruGreen's quote on quote "service" today..... it's appalling. So long story short I moved into my new home in Ballwin, MO in October. Lawn was pretty patchy and had weeds etc. After move in, I received an offer in the mail for 50% of for new customers and figured I needed it, they're reputable and I've always envied those who's lawns are "Truly" full and green and wanted one of my own. So I call TruGreen about the offer, find out the 50% off is only for the first treatment an decide to go with it anyway. I bought the full deal, they're best package to include fertilizer, weed and grub control, pest control, the whole 9. First service went well, Second service they tried to say they provided 2 services this time around instead of 1 because it was best for the treatment timing. I ask my fiancé if she saw them treat the lawn today.... Apparently 2 treatments at once costing me $150!? She says she literally saw the truck pull up, conveniently park on the street in-between me and my neighbors property line, get out and stick a sign in my yard and a treatment summary on my front door knob, get back in his truck and leave 10 min later. Then have the audacity to claim he double treated my lawn when in all reality he came by and rendered no services and double charged me. That's not just unethical, it's theft and fraud and should be treated as such. If you of anyone you know has similar expire experience's with TruGreen please DM me. I have 8 exterior cameras on my home and solid proof they did this on they're SECOND TREATMENT for me on a nearly $1000/year service agreement. All on tape, will post below. The amount of fraud I see going on to normal paying customers accross the board is overwhelming, unacceptable, and must be addressed. I really tried to work with the business owner by giving them a chance to make things right. Like a few other reviewers, I have video surveillance footage of service techs either not completing service at all, or only completing service on a small proportion of the property. Trugreen did attempt to make this right by refunding me for services that were not properly completed, and re-sending service techs to complete services. That said, even the service calls that were re-visits based on the above were not completed properly. If you have an issue with service, get ready to spend a ton of time on the phone. The local branch cannot be reached by phone, and emails often go without reply. You'll talk to a different corporate customer service representative every time and have to start your story over every time. After the latest incident on July 6th i've requested a full refund and I'm stopping service. Working with Trugreen in Fenton Missouri has been very frustrating experience and a huge waste of my time. read more

Been a customer for 14 years and this is the year that they have been unreliable. My services are 5 different areas around my home and lately I have had to call to schedule appointments and if they called to remind me a an appointment they do not show up. Just told today if Trudy doesn't call reminder then you don't have an appt. I guess the appt I scheduled on Tuesday for today they will not be here since I did not get a Trudy call. I would like to leave a negative star rating (but that is not possible). That is how awful the Fenton, MO office is. I have called so many times and it is always rerouted throughout the country. The CS rep tries to help by telling me someone will call back within 48 hours, but no one calls back! An appointment is set and then they don't show up. I prepaid the account so I have no options. I cancelled my service in March of 2022 due to the high cost. Starting a week later I was inundated with calls to reinstate my service using multiple numbers - all of which I blocked until the calls stopped. Then out of the blue they called me on a new number and informed me my house would be serviced the next day - even though I had cancelled months prior! When I called them they informed me my account was active and never cancelled! Absurd. Just beware once you start with these guys, you can't ever get rid of them. Purchased this lawn service at a considerable cost, they did none of the services, they stuck a sign in the yard but did not actively do anything. I'm still waiting for the weeds to die off after three sprays. After my third call to discuss, I cancelled the service. After a long discussion where I was asked to detail what I thought happened (again) She cancelled. Got an email confirming I was cancelled, and I was getting entire amount back. Today, a very aggressive account manager called to ask what happened. Again, told them the issue. He kept over talking me to essentially blame me why my weeds were still present. I did not have an inground irrigation system. Not that I didn't water them in, that I didn't have an inground irrigation system. I said most people do not have that system. I signed up for a year with trugreen and paid upfront figuringit would make my life easier. They asked what services I wanted and I told them only lawn fertilization. No spring or fall preparation services like lyme treatment. Later that year I got a bill for lyme treatment so I had to get that removed. They stopped the remainder of my service I paid for till I got it straightened out. At the end of the year I paid for, they just kept on servicing my lawn and billing me on credit. The representative assured me when I signed up that this was not a reoccurring service. I have to keep explaining that I don't want their service and they just keep doing it and charging me. Do not sign up for TruGreen lawn care. They sign up local franchisees to run their own businesses, which means you have no idea what you're going to get. Such as myself. The (St. Peters) office that I've been working with (ie. babysitting) for several months has the worst customer service. The technicians that come and work on the lawn do half the lawn, as I've witnessed through my own window. I have bare patches where there used to be grass. I have seeds in my flowerbeds. As you can see in the photos I have a half aerated lawn and they never came back to redo it. Yet the managers are unable to come walk the lawn with me because they are so "busy". One manager walked me through her whole schedule. Who does this? Unacceptable. I am currently working with corporate to seek a refund for the supposed work that was done, which resulted in a half dead lawn. DO NOT DO IT. See before - and the aftermath in my photos. read more

The lawn itself has become thick and hearty, and stays green longer into the Fall and winter than my neighbor's lawns who don't use Trugreen. Other reviews are accurate. We feel the local St. Louis franchise is poorly ran. They sent out a guy to do aeration and over seeding in the fall. I stopped the guy on his machine as he was tearing up our sod which was laid in the spring. They told me on numerous occasions that they would fix the damage. Instead after numerous calls by me they sent out a "field manager" to inspect the damage. He said that he would report it and see when they would fix it. Still nothing. I called again and was told they would send someone out in the spring to see how to resolve. I found a guy roaming around my backyard one day and asked him who he was. He said Chemlawn. I asked him if he knew where to look at the damage. He said "yeah, I don't see anything". I said I can point it out just as I had with your previous person. He said that it was not their fault. I said I guess I'm going to have to involve my attorney then to rectify the damage. He said he would contact his attorneys and stormed off. Our recommendation would be to not use them. read more

Just started using them for prepaid pkg service for both front & back yards. Already seeing a difference within 3 months of starting services. They notify you in advance of showing up, and the TrueGreen app works great with keeping track of upcoming appts, when the ppl are at your house, when they are finished, receipts of services, and details of what treatments you have left for the rest of the year. You can also choose to communicate through the app, if you don't want to have to call. Very happy with the entire setup/process. read more

I want to give a positive review to Nicholas Fields, Specialist. He came to my door and discussed my lawn concerns on 9-7-18. He was very knowledgeable and familiar with the lawn weeds in my area. They bought out my previous lawn care company. The first time at my house they aerated my yard and sent me a bill via email. The previous company sent me bills via mail. I never saw the bill in my email. Apparently they tried calling me for payment but never left a voicemail. I don't answer calls I don't know. So they sent me to collections. I pay every bill I have on time. I even paid $240 in advance for service next year, not sure why they thought I would be intentionally avoiding a $60 bill. read more
