The TruGreen service is always reliable and on time, and makes our lawn look great even in shade and difficult soil!

I do not recommend this company because they are unable to get rid of my weed problem. Though they say they will come back if I call them to report an issue, they don't return. If they do show up, they miss the weeds again even though they might be 6" high and very visible. I've flagged/marked individual weed clusters but somehow TruGreen still manages to miss them. Not worth the money or aggravation. Sadly, I prepaid in order to get a better deal. Next year, I'll look elsewhere. read more

This company is crooked and the customer service is garbage! They let someone who used to live at a address roll the bill over to my name and their response is a automated system to resolve the issue. Would not recommend this company to anyone! read more

If I could leave a zero stars I would. We have been in our home for more than seven years and this was the first year of using their service. Our lawn was good, but up until this point we had done all of the work ourselves and with a busier schedule decided to bring them in. Now, half of our backyard has no grass and is all weeds. Various type of weeds too. They definitely do not provide the value we had hoped when we signed on with them. Now, because of a review we left on google, they call us to try to sell us more services or to say it isn't their fault. Absolutely ridiculous. Will never use them again and highly recommend others not use them as well. read more

I want to be fair to TruGreen so I am updating my review. I responded to their response on YELP. I called and after a brief hold was in contact with a customer service rep. She listened, was attentive, and she fixed the problem. She refunded my money from the treatments that did it work, and they sent someone out to re-spray. While it's too soon to report any results (they were just here yesterday), I am very satisfied that they did what they could to correct their mistake. I am grateful for that, and I would now definitely recommend them, based on customer service. I'll see what my lawn looks like in September to judge if what they do works, but I am impressed with their response to my complaint. read more

I live in Madison, WI. My neighbor uses Trugreen, I use another company. 3 times since October, I came home to find a Trugreen receipt on my front door and signs in my front yard, that Trugreen had fertilized my yard. Since this was in error and I called the phone number on the receipt and it goes to an office in Chicago. They claim they cannot transfer me to anyone locally but they promise I'll get a call back. Never have I received a call back. I am beyond frustrated that they have sprayed my yard 3 times in error and I cannot even get a call back. Seems to be a pretty poorly run company in my opinion. I would NOT recommend them. read more

I've had Tru Green for several years and have had great service, until this year. I have weeds in my yard and areas are completely not being treated. This has been contributed to the person that has sprayed named Jennifer. I called customer service and informed them of the issues I was having and the trouble areas. So, Jennifer shows up again and claims she wasn't there prior (even though it was Jennifer on the slip). And what happens..she oversprays several of the areas I had called in on and COMPLETELY kills the grass, and a couple of plants and still doesn't cover a certain area of my lawn. So now I sit with brown dead grass, a dead peony, bee balm plant, and half a bush..with weeds still in my lawn. So I call in again and say I want a manager to call me and come walk my lawn with me. No one calls. I call back again. Finally a Jake calls asking if it is really dead even after all the rain we had and I say yes. Okay he informs me he is an Office Manager and we will have a Service Manager call me. Okay I say. AGAIN, no one calls. I get a notice someone is coming for my last treatment. I call back and again say I don't want the lawn to be treated until I talk with a Manager. Sure enough, service isn't cancelled and a guy shows up to spray. I tell him the situation and I call the office, AGAIN. I'm working remote and suddenly I see a Tru Green truck. I ask the person who he is since I never received a call! He's an Assistant Manager. His solution, he threw down some grass seed, and said I would get a credit in my account. It's been over a week and still no credit. This is so ridiculous. read more

DO NOT GO WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE TERRIBLE TO WORK WITH. I have called in twice requesting a supervisor and both times they tell me because they work at home they have to have someone call me and that has never happened. I paid good money for the stupid mosquito spray that doesnt work unless they spray it 3+ times a month and they're not even spraying the right house! TruGreen is a corporate snafu with no local support. They sprayed my lawn last week even though I do not have an account with them. I contacted them to notify them of the error( I spoke to someone remotely after 5 selections on a phone tree). They said they would have someone call and that the put notes to fix the error. Today they showed up again and treated my lawn, even though I do not have an account, except today the address on the account is not the account hold but mine. I tried calling them again and after a lengthy phone tree reached someone who was not helpful and could not put me in touch with the Madison office. I am beside myself. I cannot recommend them and feel that they are negligent with extremely poor management. read more

If you do or do not have a house but you know someone who does, please share this. DO NOT LET business take advantage of the most vulnerable people out there, specially during these hard times. This happened to me, and I will take it as far as I can not because of me, but because of others who cant!!!! I purchased a lawn service from TruGreen last year (July 2nd 2019) for a number of services that were to be applied through December 2019 IF weather allowed it, IF NOT they will continue with any remaining service as soon as the snow went away in 2020. Everything was completed over the phone - I DID NOT sign a contract but I prepaid for future services to be executed by TruGreen at different dates. During winter time, I received multiple calls from the TruGreen sales department to ask if we were going to extend the lawn service, I said "I need to wait until I can see my lawn before I make further decisions." March 28th 2020, we noticed they applied a service, but they did not leave any sign in the back yard, only in the front yard (They have to legally to keep off PETS and KIDS). It was strange but OK! We though it was a pending service. Today, we receive a BILL! - I called and they claimed we NEVER called to CANCEL the services - I said "So, if you were to continue lawn services in my place regardless I cancel or not, why would you call us to offer to extend the service? which I clearly did not continue...... To the best of my knowledge, I purchased a simple package with a NUMBER of services, and Oh I hope you recorded every call we held over the phone, because at any given time I was NOT educated about "Cancelations" - It was a Prepayment Agreement, NUBMER of services applied, service successfully completed! Just that simple..... Also, so STEPPING someone's from yard is "trespassing but something you CANT prosecute - Is it the reason you did not do my BACKYARD?" NO response received! read more

Do not use this company for lawn care!! I had to call FOUR TIMES to get my services cancelled and get refunded. When I called corporate to talk with the local branch office they refused to speak with me. Just awful to work with. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. i have repeatedly asked them to call before service and not just auto renew. They can't do that so once you hire them buyer beware - you are stuck for life! This time they left me a bill for service I didn't know was coming or agree to, never left a message saying they were coming and it rained right after. To add to it I already put down all of the same chemicals they sprayed before they did. If my lawn fries, I'm calling my lawyer! Talk about spending way too much money on way too many unnecessary treatments!!! The sales team is borderline offensive to work with. They are desperate to up-sell you. They start off very friendly but then get almost insulted and act like children when you decline a package or opt out of extra services. They seem personally offended if you tell them no thank you. Its unprofessional, desperate, and uncomfortable. I will never use them again. Go find a smaller mom and pop establishment! read more

Extremely Inconsiderate! He started up the loud spraying machine at 6:00 am and ran it for 45 minutes, without regard for those sleeping. Not into hiring selfish inconsiderate people. Additionally he sprayed the entire kids park area but put up no notification to others that it has been treated. read more

Terrible service. Too big to care about service. The scheduled appt and had to cancel. They said they were to busy so they wouldn't be able to come back for 3 weeks--due to scheduling. Next day they were literally at my neighbors house. I called them and they said they didn't realize it. We switched to another provider. read more

My June service was skipped by Trugreen. I finally got ahold of someone in CS . They said they would refund my June fee. I told Trugreen not to refund the credit card I used for original payment because it was a gift card I no longer have. The CS rep said he would credit my MasterCard and I gave him the card info. The credit still went to the card I no longer have. I spoke with CS and cancelled $250 worth of prepaid services and was told I would receive a check this time. Trugreen again refunded the wrong card and told me I would have to contact Metabank and will only give my the last 4 digits of the card. I was NEVER told they had to use my original card. I am out over $250 after months and dozens of calls and emails. And my lawn looked horrible all summer after a new patio was put in last year. Trugreen doesn't hold themselves accountable for their own mistakes. read more

Trugreen's people came to my home and sprayed lawn. However, I DID NOT CALL AND/OR CONTRACT WITH THEM. In the process, they sprayed all of my trees that are now dying. When I saw them, I went out to ask them what they were doing. (I am asthmatic and don't use chemicals on my lawn). They said they were spraying weed killer and fertilizer. When I called Trugreen's manager, she basically called me a liar - there her people were not at my house and that they were not even in Beloit. Just my chance, my neighbor across the street was outside mowing - they work a lot and I rarely see him or his wife. He told me he WATCHED THE MEN FROM TRUGREEN spray my lawn. And, is willing to tell Trugreen the same thing. So much for TRUGREEN knowing where and what their people are doing. They have nine mature trees that they are going to have to take down and replace or off to court we go. read more

The guy who showed up to fertilize my trees was good, no complaints about his work. Trugreen took almost $700 from my account for a prepaid plan I did not agree to and specifically said I did not want to prepay. They charged me anyway, and I'm getting nothing but the runaround. They Don't seem to grasp they took money from me without my permission in the first place. I've emailed, texted, and called. Still short the $700. Not trustworthy at all. read more

Do not use this service, they should be called TruBrown, not TruGreen. The came on 7/10 and did a regularly scheduled application. By 7/13 my lawn started to turn brown, in spots. I called tru gree and it took them until today to send someone out to look at what was done. The tru green representative, Stephanie Leverington, advised me that the individual who did the application on 7/10 was a new employee and he did it incorrectly. She said she was sorry that it happened, that's it. I then called tru green talked to someone named Rich, he said he was a manager. I told him how upset I was about what Stephanie had told me. He said people made mistakes, it happens, he said. He said he would send a supervisor out to look at the damage they had caused. Thereafter, a supervisor came to my house and by telephone he confirmed what Stephanie had told me. He said the lawn should be fine by August, that I just needed to water my lawn 10 min every day. No offer to reimburse me for the cost of the application, nothing, just that I needed to water every day at my expense, for my time and the cost of the water. I am outraged at their behavior and I will never use their service again. read more

EXTREMLY FRUSTRATED with TruGreen. We were foolish to pay up front for a summer long mosquito treatment package. Their first treatment went perfect and we were very satisfied. Then for the second month a TrueGreen representative come on a Monday for a mosquito treatment...but only did the front of our house even though we paid for full the property. When we asked why only half was done the representative replied that the back of the house didn't need it because we had weed wacked and cleaned up shrubs. After calling TrueGreen to complain about failure to complete the job they opoligized and said they would reschedule immediately for that week. Got two text messages on Thursday that they were on their way...but they never showed up. Called TrueGreen Friday; they said the spray treatment was taking place that following Tuesday. When I asked why they didn't come on Thursday and text messages had stated they started coming up with excuses that we have to wait three days following the Monday treatment. That is not 3 days but 8 days after the incomplete mosquito treatment. They started saying how sorry they were that the job wasn't done to our expectation. To our Expectations (what?)...yes if someone only built half a fence that is not even getting close to what is expected. Treating the full property as paid for is the minimal that one would expect. Can't go outside because it is so bad...and they expect that we should be paying for all these days that we cant even use our yard for our family and dogs. What horrible customer service. When asked to speak to a manager they said one would call back but might be a few days based on what the managers schedule is (so if you use TrueGreen don't expect to quickly resolve your concerns). Anytime I have ever needed to speak to a manager to resolve an issue, the manager is put immediately on the phone or calls back very shortly after. Needless to say we will be looking for another company to service our lawn in the future. And to think I was considering TrueGreen to help with other lawn maintenance needs...thankful I didn't and loose out on even more money. Don't pay up font...once they have your money you will have to wait to get assistance and help to resolve your issues that I might add were obvious failures on their part. Total incompetence and terrible customer service. They haven't stepped up to offer any solution to try and retain us as loyal customers. read more
