I look into my backyard and see a man from TruGreen nobody hired spraying stuff on our lawn. He was moving fast, luckily we caught him in time. When asked what he's doing he asked if we were renters, which we are not. He came back and said his "dyslexia got the best of him". We have a dog with CHRONIC allergies who now cannot go outside until it rains. If we wouldn't have caught him our dog would be sick, and we wouldn't have any idea why. There needs to be more verification of addresses or something changed in the system because this is genuinely bullshit. read more

After 20 years with Trugreen, I have canceled my business services for all locations. The "Supervisor " has been very disrespectful, hateful, and condescending over their poisoning of m 3 healthy Alaskan Weeping Cedars in 2022. He also has sent a tree person over who sprayed my cherry tree with a systematic spray one day prior to my picking schedule. Despite my position as CEO of these 2 businesses, Truegreen still has me as a "Residential" customer. Last application for grub and pest control left my new green grass with large yellow patches around the yard. I asked Trugreen to pay for 1/2 of the cost to replace my 3 trees and the "Supervisor " was screaming, yelling, & disrespectful to me. So, I am asking for a full refund and damages. After Dedrick coming out to spray our burning bushes, the leaves are curly up. The bushes are not a true green anymore, as they look like a lime color now. We think TruGreen sprayed the wrong kind of chemical on our burning bushes. read more

It wouldn't let me go forward without selecting a star, I wanted to give a zero. Signed up last May for full service not realizing it was the "fool" service they were selling. Sales person quoted "wait till you see your lawn next spring". I could hardly wait to see the improvement. However I didn't know he meant it would be worse than when we initially signed. Trying to get a hold of a service manager is next to impossible. Two weeks(probably 6 calls) going through service reps who say they will refer to manager and they will get back to us. No response so today I drove to the Trugreen office and had the pleasure of speaking with Erin who was worthless. The service reps apologize for the issues but are only pushing the messages on to people who don't have the courtesy to return the call even if it's to tell you we don't care. We entered into a service agreement with trugreen in October of 21 to the tune of 614.72. As America's #1 professional lawn service, they are anything but professional. The purpose in hiring them in October was to help get our lawn weed free and ready for seed. In October they never showed up when stated they would and they never provided the service that we paid for, for the fall application. I spoke to Laureen who said she would note that account that the missed application would be done in the spring. Well, here it is spring and this entire week has been a series of no shows. We have cancelled our service so we shall see how long it takes for them to credit our account. If you are serious about having beautiful lawn, don't rely on this company! I went in and saw a bunch of 5 star reviews for TruGreen. Clicked on the reviewers and discovered the reviewers are bogus. They were giving reviews for companies all across the country, days and weeks apart. Funny, one was saying they have been using TruGreen for five years in Omaha when they were touting companies in Florida and California. So after you discount the phony reviews the average drops significantly. Too bad they don't provide good service. We dumped them after 2 poor applications. No response by the company about how they could correct the poor service. Lady 2 doors down dropped them also this year as well. She reported poor service. Run away from these people. I asked him at least 6 times how much I would be charged for my service per month and he told me $50.00 a month. The very 1st bill I got was for $100.00. Tried to call my sales person several times with no call back or response at all. Tried to call the office, no response. Once you guys get your hooks in, the sales guy vanishes and sends everyone through the red tape. I asked for a refund and to cancel my service. Today they treated my neighbor's lawn instead of mine. To be clear, my neighbors are not customers and my lawn did not get the scheduled treatment. When I called to let them know, they acted like it was no big deal to go on someone else's property and put chemicals on their lawn without their permission. Ack! I have not hired a lawncare company in 10 years. This year I decided it was time to look for a lawncare company to spray for weeds and fertilize my yard. Contacted TruGreen, they shot me a price of $50 a treatment for 6 treatments. I hoped to see an improved yard over me personally provided weed control and fertilizer. TruGreen, applications of weed control has failed horribly. I called customer service instead of saying we will send someone out to address the crabgrass and invasive grasses. Customer service wanted to sell me a aeration and over seeding program. The lawn treatment service is horrible and failed miserably. Why would I hire them to do more work for me when TruGreen Failed at the first task they were hired to complete. My experience is they want the lawn treatment contract to be in your yard and sell you other services. I cannot recommend TruGreen to anyone looking for a professional Lawncare compnay. read more

TruGreen just bought Struyk Turf and the results are abysmal. For the first time in 8 years, we have weeds, dandelions, and broadleaf grass just about everywhere in our lawn. It's amazing how just a few months with TruGreen has undone nearly a decade of lawn maintenance. I cringe to think of the battle we will fight as we try to revive our yard with a new company. I really can't express my disappointment, frustration, and incredulity. FOLLOW UP: TruGreens owner contacted me almost immediately and was resolute about taking care of the problems we were having. They've been to our house several times and, while it's too early to tell if the issue is eradicated, I hope it will be. I called and complained as it is now October and I still have 3 services left. They said they would come do a free service, well they did today and also used my 3 remaining services on the same free application. Never gave me an explanation On the receipt as they usually do, so they counted the one free service as 3 of my paid for service. I had TruGreen for three years. They were good but not great. I normally paid them for the year upfront. This last time they didn't process my payment (same card and info as the previous successful payment) so I re-entered. Over the course of several months I tried to pay multiple times (10 total according to the confirmation emails I received.) I also called and was assured that they would process the payment. Then I get mail from a collection agency saying they were coming after me because I refused to pay TruGreen. Stay away from this incompetent business. I am now a toxic customer for them and will work hard to ensure no one I know or talks to considers using them. read more

Beware of TRUEGREEN, I was lied to from day one with them. The young man who came and sold me my plan and assured me that I could contact him with any concerns. He would be my contact for any needs, I had an incident and when I contacted him he directed me to a 1-800 number only for my issue to never get resolved. Customer service was garbage, my yard has not improved at all. I figured whatever I already paid in advance so why not just end the year with them. Turns out they automatically renew your contract without any heads up of anything. Now I am being forced to pay a bill that I did not approve a service for. The representative on the phone argued with me about this. Saying someone called and I didn't answer, I just so happen to be busy with the loss of a family member and when I saw they called I assumed it was to renew and I did not want to deal with them at that moment. read more

I called this company to find out how much it would cost to get someone to spray for weeds. The sales person kept pushing a "weed and feed" package, and some other more expensive packages. I just wanted herbicide, nothing else. They also wanted to set up a schedule of seven applications which would cost about $1800, paid in advance. I told the salesperson I needed to get quotes from other companies, that I would forward my research to the person who would actually make the decision, and I would call them back if they were selected. In the past week, I've received 11 phone calls from this company! I've added them to the auto-reject list on my phone because I'm tired of their high-pressure sales. Don't even call these people unless you like dealing with aggressive salesmen. read more

I was just called by someone from Truegreen lawncare wanting to know if they can sell me some more useless lawn treatments. It reminded me of the horrible experience I had with them and how my request to be removed from their mailing and call list has been ignored. That conversation inspired me to write this review. They suck. They are disreputable. They do not care about helping your lawn, they only care about making a quick buck. I originally contacted them for help with Creeping Charlie and weeds growing in my mother's back yard. I wanted to surprise her with a treatment program along with a plan to restore the back lawn. You see, she sprayed grass killer in a previous year in an attempt to kill the Creeping Charlie that was overgrowing everything. It killed the Charlie and most of the grass also, she then ignored it and all kinds of weeds grew in and flourished. I filled out one of the contact cards and spoke to someone about meeting them to talk about the problem. Then different sales person actually went out to talk directly to my mother at her home bypassing me who was actually going to pay for it, not only ruining the surprise but talking her into some kind of treatment plan that would end up being totally useless, taking her money and then leaving. I guess taking her money right now was better than taking my money a day later. The treatment was useless. Only a small portion of the weeds died. They returned a couple of weeks later. In our first couple of years they did a nice job, but in our last 2 they were terrible. Our final year they damaged our chain-link fence on both sides of our yard, and they denied it. Our yard looked terrible through the whole year and got worse into the 2nd. We were watering the yard almost continually through the drought, yet they blamed us because the weeds would grow but not the grass. Our weeds were growing just fine throughout the whole yard. When they damaged the fence, we called management out to look. I first addressed the fence, but he kept wanting to blame the dog or our neighbors for the problems. I know for sure that our neighbors didn't damage our gates or cause the fence to bridge into their yards! The workers and management were rude and hard to deal with. I'm usually an easy person to deal with, but you get rude and insulting to me, I'll stand-up for myself, especially when it is the property my husband and I are responsible for. Management was especially difficult. I had a neighbor with me one day as a witness and they had to walk away before they said something they'd regret. One day my husband was home from work to talk with management, too. He also had to walk away before he said something wrong. We had other neighbors ask us if we were using them this last year. We said yes, and they said it didn't look like it. Our neighbors yard looked better than ours and they weren't doing anything to it except mowing. They've tried several times this year to get us to have them come back and "take care of our yard". They've got to be kidding! read more

When I was home on occasion that they came, they were only at my place long enough to put up a sign. Then trying to quit was a nightmare. I called nearly daily but they still kept coming and charging me even after being reassured I was not a client. I stopped paying and even called quitting service still came. TruGreen Lawn Care is horrible, customer service non-existent and not local to Nebraska. We previously used a company (Turf Care) on a per treatment basis that sold their customers to TruGreen Lawn. We were not informed of the sale and never returned any documents indicating that we wanted service from TruGreen in 2020. After three calls and approximately 2 hours on the phone, TruGreen told my wife that because we used the previous service we are obligated to a contract with TruGreen that we have to pay to cancel. We have had three calls with customer service that is somewhere in Kentucky and usually busy. After three calls to dispute a bill that sent for service that we never requested and was performed without our consent in a fenced yard, we have been told that TruGreen will have a manager call us in three days.....This is not the kind of company that we want working in Omaha, NE. read more

About 4 years ago I hired TruGreen lawn service for some lawn aerating and over seeding work and was disappointed (the over seeding was a separate charge). I just tried them again to repair some sprinkler heads and was even more disappointed. After finally getting through and was rerouted about 5 times to get a service scheduled, they finally confirmed the service call. But, low and behold, they were a no-show and no-call. I finally contacted them again today to find out what the situation was (since they took my CC info) and someone had cancelled me from the service call. Needless to say, I cancelled completely out of their system and will definitely never call back. My advice is to look beyond TruGreen lawn sprinkler service department. I called again, and asked to have the tech call me, and to be transferred to Omaha office. Once again, as usual, they did not answer the call. I had to drive the last time 20 miles to their office to talk to them. The tech did not call. I cancelled the service. I have the worst looking lawn on the block. BEWARE... STAY AWAY!!! If I could give negative stars I would. On Set 12th, TruGreen employee, Tracy Lawrence came to my house to aerate and seed. When I arrived home from work that day I was stunned to see my lawn destroyed! There were huge sections of grass missing and my lawn was torn up. I have many photos that were taken that day. I tried to call for the next two days but would remain on hold for long periods of time. I finally was given the option to leave a call back number and someone finally called back. I explained what happened and that I was not happy. I was assured someone from the local, Omaha branch would call me back and schedule a time to look at the damage. That was on Sept 14th and I have still not received a call. On Sept 18th I filed a BBB complaint and have still not heard from your company. I can not believe the poor service I have received and the condition of my lawn. I am telling everyone I know about how terrible TruGreen is and to stay away. read more

I have this company out to spray my yard. The first time they were out, I noticed my Korean Spice Viburnum was welting. I called the company to let them know, and asked them to make note to the person that actually would come out to my house to spray, noting the exact location of this bush. Not complaining that it happened, I'm very aware that this was a possibility. But I wanted to make every attempt possible to prevent any further damage in the future. Knowing their scheduled next date of application, I went one step further with this plant, I placed a 13 gallon trash can over it, weighting it down on each side so it would not fall over. When I came home this can was taken off and sat up completely next to the plant. I had hoped the person spraying wouldn't have intentionally removed it Before spraying so I saved any frustrations until I waited 24 hours and rechecked the bush. Hoping it wouldn't show any further stress. Well, It did, I have every expectation that the plant will not make it now. This person must have removed the trash can Before he sprayed and not Afterwards. I can not tell you how upset this has made me. I will NEVER have this company out again. I have paid for their services for the year, but from now on when someone is scheduled to come out...THEY WILL HAVE ME WATCHING THEM...They will no longer be able to spray without my supervision. We have been using True Green for several years. My lawn is my hobby and I take a lot of pride in it. I put a lot of time into it and hired True Green to handle weed control and fertilization. During the off month that they were not scheduled to come by I did my own fertilizing so my lawn always looked great! Recently, two of my neighbors cancelled service with them because they are home all day and see the Trugreen guys show up, sit in truck for ten minutes, sometimes walk around the lawn before leaving a bill and leaving without any application. This made me curious and started to wonder why my lawn was starting to look so bad. I have been very busy this summer and have not had time to do anything extra to my lawn and it looks the worst it's ever looked. Well, last week I was home from work and I saw the TruGreen guy show up. I wanted to see with my own eyes what was going on. I sat inside and watched exactly what my neighbors described. The guy sat in his truck for ten minutes, walked around with a portable sprayer spraying in no methodical fashion, completely missing the several areas of my lawn that actually do have weeds. In less than five minutes, (My lawn is just under 1 acre) he threw the sprayer in the truck. So I thought, "ok, he's gonna fertilize now". Nope, he jumped in his rig and left. The bill stated they did weed and feed. What a hoax. They should be ashamed of themselves. I got the run-a-round on the phone from corporate, never able to get a hold of anyone at the business in Omaha. They came up with excuses for their applicators. I called corporate to complain and after about two days some guy local called and said he wanted my business back. He gave me some excuse that they don't apply the product when the lawn looks dry. Bullshit!! They still send all of us neighbors a bill for it and said they did put an application down. I cancelled service and disputed bill which they apologized and took care of the bill.
