They've been treating my yard for four months and Doug (seems to be same guy with recent reviews) tried to tell me my grass wasn't dead. I had tried to get them to fix it for a month. When my HOA finally started sending me complaints about it, I had enough. I called them on a Thursday to get him out here and fix it, he didn't reach out to me until Tuesday the following week (that was after I called corporate and told them they were fired.) If TruGreen comes to your property, Title XLVI Ch 810.08 is the trespass law that you can send them as a warning to not stick a toe on your property. Do NOT use this company. They failed to follow their own procedures (such as the initial lawn eval) and they don't Quality Check it. It is up to the CUSTOMER to find it, call them out on it and try to get it rescheduled. They also fail to keep you in the loop of any date changes, instead letting you flounder and wondering where they hell they are at. Go with ANY company other than this because even though they say "You are a valued customer", sure doesn't feel like both by their actions and lack of communication. Their customer service has TANKED since 2018. I will give their chat representatives credit because they atleast understood what was going on and why people are cancelling. The local manager Doug came out in looked at my yard in said they would be able to kill the weeds in acouple of months. 6 months later weeds are still there in now my front yard that had new sod put down is starting to die. Doug now tells me that I don't have weeds but wild grass in they can't kill that. Hired a different company in they told me what the name of the weed was in how long it would take to kill it. My experience with TruGreen.... Inquired online and had a representative sitting in front of my home the very next morning. We signed up and have had nothing but trouble and lies since. They don't show up and put in their system that "the homeowner rescheduled". This happened multiple times. After one summer, the yard actually looks worse. I called over and over and got nothing. No one would come out and look at the yard. The last straw was they lied about the last visit. We recieved an email and a text that the service was compete. No one ever actually came to our house. I'm still on the fence. True green has been spraying my lawn for the last 2 months. I believe I have had 2 applications and 1 respray. My yard still looks horrible. It's at the end of March so they said my grass should be coming in soon. These guys have been very responsive to feedback. You are sent to a National hotline and they take all the information for the local branch and the local guys take it from there. We paid TruGreen for 1year of service in advance. We did not notice any difference in our lawn, trees, or shrubs. I added on trees and shrubs as an extra service. Today, they supposedly treated. I did not hear the doorbell or a knock on the door, my dog didn't bark, but they said they serviced our lawn and trees and shrubs. So I looked on our camera and my husband, and I noticed that they did not service at all. The guy pulled up in his truck, and apparently he sat there and wrote a report about his service that he didn't provide, and drove off. That is theft! Long story short - do not bother with TruGreen Started using TruGreen at the beginning of 2023. I was skeptical at first since I saw reviews saying that TruGreen has been known to charge clients without even doing the yard. So I made sure my yard was being treated and I was getting what I was paying for. Sometimes I saw a sign in the yard and my camera on my ring doorbell never went off. But I'm not too sure if they did the yard or not. Anyways, I had an aeration done and they punctured my irrigation system and destroyed a couple of sprinkler heads in the front and back yard. I was fed up already since I never trusted my yard getting sprayed. So I had to call customer service, which is terrible and I'll explain later, to get a manager on the phone to give me a refund and to pay for the repairs. I fired them after everything was repaired because I couldn't trust them. I'd rather have someone I could trust. A year later, January 2024, I get a text message saying they will be over to do my yard. I called customer service to have them remove my account and credit card info off their system since I said I fired them back in may of 2023. They said they completed that request. Then again, I got another text next month saying they'll be over to do the yard. I called again and said take me off their system. They responded by removing my info, again. A third text came, March of 2024, saying a tech will be over to do my yard. This is terrible service. TruGreen is a pain to work with and to fire. From experience, do not work with TruGreen. The technicians, however, are hard working individuals. I have had a pleasant experience with these techs that have come out. I also apologize to that one tech that came out to my house and got yelled at by my Mother. read more

The first year we had them it was better than what we had done ourselves, but the last two years the yard had died in areas and been taken over by nut grass. I can't believe we trusted them again! We used them 10 years ago and was never able to grow grass. We have been having a SMALL issue with sand spurs the past couple years so we decided to give them another chance. They said they could take care of the Spurs. Well.... I had the worst looking lawn in the neighborhood compared to people who didn't spend money on theirs. Watch out for the automatic renewal. I spoke with a rep about that. Dealing with cox internet was the most frustrating processes until truegreen. I've been trying to schedule a treatment that was prepaid 5 months ago. It's been 3 weeks and 5 calls and I have been transferred more times than I can count. Save yourself the trouble and go on YouTube to learn how to fertilize your own lawn. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. After spending almost $3,000 for plugs, TruHealth Plan and Mosquito Defense and TruShield, we have the ugliest yard in our neighborhood, the bugs destroyed my container garden and mosquitoes abound. I have sent numerous emails via their corporate office website, and countless phone calls. You CANNOT reach a local person. ALL calls are sent to a Customer Service Center in Tampa etc. Early in when we complained they sent a service manager out. Jason Baird looked at the plugs and noted there was some green in them and that they would be okay. His remedy was that they would replace any that came out. Some have come out, some are dead, and the majority of the others are varying shades of brown. NONE have been replaced. Nonetheless, it doesn't address the fact that they were not installed deep enough into the ground. As a result, our yard is full of little brown or brown and green poofs. Another individual shows up, horrific language skills. We had to repeat pertinent information several times. He was more interested in selling us the Tree and Shrub Plan. My husband bought it hoping service would improve. It didn't. I cancelled it. We continue to call the customer service center and email in complaints. They tell you someone from the local office will contact you within 48 hours. That means another phone call where you explain the problem and another promise of someone getting back with you. LOTS of talk. NO plan - NO action. By 9:15 a.m. the scheduled service for today had been canceled. read more

We got a new home and had sod so we figured we would get true green to try to help it along. We were told that we would have a dedicated representative. We didn't. We were told that they would talk to us and tell us what's going on with our lawn. They didn't. One time one of the people that showed up said I wasn't home and that my landscapers were working there. First of all she didn't call me and second I don't have landscapers. Also after each appointment someone would call claiming to be a manager or whatever and saying oh the representatives said that your trees need to be treated for insects. We have two and a half acres of trees! Really? Or oh we see that you have a garden and it needs to be treated for bugs. Really? Every time they call I tell him I'm not happy with the service and they still try to upsell me. So I canceled my service at the end of the contract. Because stupid me paid for a whole year in advance. Now I keep getting phone calls from TruGreen they keep hanging up on me the second I answer. Our yard is 5 years old and let's face it you don't get high end grass when purchasing a new home.. Our north side is a mess and we have tried everything even to the point of putting zoysia plugs in ourselves..They look good but grow really slow..not to mention the unbelievable amount of weeds..we gave up and called in TruGreen..They have done two applications and the lawn is starting to look good ,weeds are dying..of course grass will be gong dormant soon but we have high hopes we won't have tons of weeds in the spring and the grass will look so much better..it is well worth having this service and not worrying when to fertilize ,when to put weed killers down and what kind , plus the cost of all that.. this is a time saver and we are not constantly stressing over the lawn.. plus they are so nice and helpful answering all concerns.. read more

I recently signed up with TruGreen, I was promised a soil evaluation along with Chinch Bug control and fertilization. Yesterday the truck arrived with no notification (which I requested due to our large dog) the technician started pulling out the hose and I asked what was being applied, weed control, fertilizer, chinch bug control. No soil test. When I signed up I payed for 10 visits for one year @ $107 per visit, I was charged for two visits, one for fertilizer and one for chinch bugs (which was included in the contract) really surprised me. You cannot contact anyone locally, you are routed to an regional call center for help. I received the standard answer of that is what your contact states. What? The chemicals applied at the same time with the same hose? I then started down the path of canceling the service due to the fine print and no ability to talk to someone in the local office. I knew better when I signed up, I had TruGreen 4 years a go with similar results, I mistakenly thought maybe they have read reviews and improved their operational practices. Never again read more

I signed up for this service just recently and I signed up for lawn maintenance and weed control as well as Mosquito defense and outdoor pest control. I advised that I need the outdoor pest control done as soon as possible. I was advised the first visit the lawn portion would cost $47.48 and the first visit for the mosquito and outdoor would cost $64.98. It would go up after that. Ok fine sign me up. I was originally told my first lawn appointment would be 6/1/22 and my first mosquito and bug would be 6/4. Great. However when I looked at my account online I saw mosquito and bug got switched to 6/13/22..I called my rep and explained I cant wait. I am getting eaten alive by the bugs he said he would call and see what he can do. Yesterday morning (6/1/22) I looked and saw the mosquito and bug control got switched to 6/20/22-6/26/22 so I called my rep again and he said ok let me see what I can do. Today.....no appointment scheduled. Yesterday 6/1/22 I had my first lawn treatment. They were here about 10 minutes and sprayed my front and back lawn. That's it. No seeding no aeration just spraying. Ok whatever I have a lot weeds I get it. So I expect to pay $47.48. I check my bank account this morning and I see they charged the $47.48 and a separate charge for $85.00. WHAT? What is this? What is this for??? I look online at my account and it says they did 2 services! TruHealth Chinch Bug Control 06/01/2022 TruHealth Lawn Service 06/01/2022....strange I was never told about this. No one including the gentlemen that were said hey you gonna be charged $85 extra today. Nothing. So I called customer service. She told me oh no we texted you. While on the phone with the young lady I looked and advised uh no I never got any text. Nothing saying I would be paying an extra $85 today. She said well its a one time charge in your contract. I said ok but where does it say that is on the first visit. Her response well it doesn't since it may not be on your first visit it may be later. So you expect me to just guess when this $85 is going to be charged? NO absolutely NOT!! I asked for a supervisor because you cant just charge me $85 and not TELL me!!! That is ABSURD! This is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Needless to say I want my money back. You can't do something charge me and not tell me! What if I wanted to hold off on this $85 till next time? Buyer beware .... They are great when you set up service but after that it is all down hill. You cannot call directly to location or technician that provides your service. The customer service is limited to taking messages to pass along to the manager that will try to reach you 2 times then they close out your request! TruGreen double-billed me. I went back and forth with their customer service on several occasions and they never corrected the situation. Finally, I paid my balance and told them to never come again. A few days later, I get a call from TruGreen trying to schedule my next appointment. I told them that I cancelled my services and wanted nothing to do with them ever again. Have been having issues with this company since the first day. Was quoted a price with pre-pay and military discounts. The initial technician messed up and signed up two accounts instead of one. After calling and dealing with numerous people both accounts have somewhat merged but the payments did not cross over. Started out with a green yard and wanted to maintain it but now have multiple dead patches and have had to get plugs. Come to find out they have added services without my approval. We never asked for trees and shrubs because we have one tree. Somehow it was added and when I found out and cancelled it I get a call from the local office asking why. I told her that issue along with every other issue we have had with the service and am told to call back in one week. She had no response to our issues other than you have to wait two weeks between treatments and to call back in a week. Have tried to cancel everything twice now but they won't allow cancellation. Is there a -5 star rating?? Just like everyone else is saying, DO NOT use TruGreen!!! All we asked them to do was to take a soil sample. They came and sprayed and charged us $70. I called the next day and said, I didn't want a service, I wanted a soil sample. They said they would send someone out the next day at no charge and get that done for us. The guy sprayed AGAIN! Charged another $70! I called and said you've charged me 2 times now and haven't even taken a soil sample! How do you know what you need to spray or put on my lawn?? Take a soil sample and I don't want another service until we get back the results. That was TWO MONTHS ago!! And they have called every week trying to add more services. Saying there is a service call scheduled that I have to hurry and call at 8 the next morning to cancel (because they don't do the automated calls until they are closed). Then! WITHOUT CALLING They came out and did an aeration, and two MORE sprayings all at the same time! They didn't knock on the door or anything when they got there either. So I didn't even get THAT courtesy. And charged us $309! They are taking the money directly out of our account. So we can't just not pay it. We are trying to get the money back since they didn't call. It wasn't authorized. Not a single service other than the soil sample was authorized! I have on record where I said I was putting everything on hold until I heard back from the soil sample..which we still haven't gotten! So why are they doing anything to the yard?? The aeration was a HORRIBLE job too. They just ripped up huge pieces of grass in areas and it's now COMPLETELY DEAD! All we keep hearing is the manager will call back in 48 hours. I had been taking care of my yard myself and had my St. Augustin grass growing green and strong. I noticed some dollar weed starting to come in but it was in the hottest part of the summer and I knew not to treat with a granular herbicide. TruGreen was called and told me that they could take care of my lawn and get rid of the dollar weed so I hired them. When the lawn tech came, I noticed that he was using a drop spreader and I asked him what he was treating my yard with. He told me that he was putting a granular herbicide on my yard. I asked him if it would kill my grass and he said that it was a slow release herbicide and would not damage my lawn. A few days later, I noticed my yard turning brown and was in strips the same width as a drop spreader. I called to complain and a rep came to my house to look at my yard. After walking and kicking around in my yard, he announced, "you got mole crickets". I asked him if these were military trained mole crickets that had marched across my yard in formation that must have been deoyed the same day that his tech showed up. He refused to listen or offer any type of remedy. I immediately cancelled TruGreen but my yard continued to die until there was nothing green in my yard. I will never use this company again and I have made sure that nobody I know will ever consider using them. I was never able to bring my yard back to the condition it was before TruGreen. read more

When I signed up for Tru Green's service in April of 2009, I paid in full for "a year of service". In January of 2010 I started receiving bills, for service treatments. When I called their customer service, I was informed that I had actually paid for the remainder of calendar year 2009 (9 months), NOT the full calendar year of service I was sold on (12 months). I canceled immediately. I will NOT do business with dishonest sales people. This is a shame as I was really thrilled with their service. I'll try Lawn Masters next. read more

I stopped hiring TruGreen to do my lawn weed maintainence because they kept on calling me every single day trying to get me to purchase more treatments for my lawn. And after I canceled my subscription, they continued to pester me about continuing the service with them again. They have not yet missed a single day on calling me. It's too bad my phone doesn't have a phone number blockage feature right now, because it would sure be useful right now. After talking to customer service, telling them that it would be paid at the end of the week. 2 days later, they are harassing me over $79 which was paid at the end of the week. Within 2 weeks, a representative called asking why I'm cancelling the service. I wasn't happy with the service, harassment, and selling stuff I don't want. They offered 10% off their services.
