I was scheduled for a service and the so call specialist went to the wrong address. I called to have it rescheduled let's see what happens.

beware!! these people will harass you if you do an inquiry!! they call daily and show up unannounced weekly to give you more info!!! do not give them your info unless you are ok with that!! i did an inquiry online and they have called me daily sometime more than once a day, and show up at 5 o'clock weekly to give me more information. that's despite me having a "no solicitation" sign in front of my house. read more

Poor service- incomplete coverage of the lawn, no weed prevention. After many calls, the manager Steve came out to see the lawn. He said he would call me to report on a plan. No call back. I called several times and was told I'd have additional weed care and overseeing with aeration. Today was minimal aeration and overseeing in small areas. No weed prevention was done before overseeding. Weeds can't be treated with new seeding. Many calls to the company and no satisfactory resolve. Cancelled the service. read more

my lawn looks the worst it has ever looked since buying my home. all of my yard is dead. i have contacted the corporate office. they were going to contact the local office to contact me. Didn't happen. next service came around - i tried to reschedule giving the options to allow more time to discuss my issues with my yard. the rescheduling didn't happen even though i used their website to do it. service person showed up. he agreed; my yard looks horrific and it's dead. he gave me his number (it works) and supposedly the home office number - of course it's a non working number. i am beside myself and frustrated and yet, will continue to make contact because i paid a company hundreds of dollars to kill my yard. I made the mistake of calling to inquire about their services and when I realized they don't actually trim bushes and shrubs very politely told the representative that it wasn't actually going to serve my needs. I have since been called, emailed, and text messaged and asked multiple times to be removed from their contact list. They also told me that local companies would not provide lawn care services which after a quick search was objectively wrong. This company totally ruined my lawn. They were rude to my family and told me that I was not an important customer because I was not paying as much as other customers. It is not my fault that they misquoted. One day they said they treated my lawn and within a week it died. I called to complain and they told me I did not water my lawn. Total lie. I have been using TruGreen since 2008 and I have the ugliest lawn on my street! I have called them several times and expressed my disappointment, one time they sent a manager out to inspect the lawn and he told me that I am using the wrong grass seed, well I find that interesting because they are the ones seeding my lawn every fall. I have tried to cancel the service several times, this year when I called they sent out a manager that said "Give mr 10% trust and 90% satisfaction" He gave me his cell number and told me that I could call or text him anytime, I did but the number is not in service. My experience with truGreen has been a nightmare. It started with them under estimating my yard to get me in at a cheap price. When the fertilizer doesn't work you constantly have to call for re-survives. Did not do as agreed, suppose to overseed in fall and did it in the beginning of Aug in a heat wave. Took many times calling to get a manager to talk to me. Finally redid seeding in Sept. and didn't notice until later that they didn't do all of my yard. Next year they renewed service and I called to cancel. Since then I have been called numerous times asking how was my service. Finally thought I had it taken care of and I get a call asking why I canceled (I had already explained this a few times). Fifteen minutes later someone else calls me asking how my service is. This company is a big corporation that doesn't know what the other hand is doing. So if you want to be hassled to upsell service via phone, e-mail, s-mail, and deal with utter incompetence, this is the company for you. Update 3/23/18: Still Can't get them to stop calling me. I had these people come out and spray for mosquitoes on my lawn. The treatment actually made it worse. I called and they came to spray again. Still horrible. I called and simply told them to cancel the service. Now they have sent my account to a collection agency. Unreal! Stay as far away as you can from these scumbags. read more

This review is for their commercial division only. I agree with the other reviews about their residential division. I first contacted the residential division to help with a two acre lawn of my second home that was overtaken by weeds. They gave me a quick quote via satellite, but I'd told them the lawn didn't look the same anymore. I continued my search, but their reps wouldn't stop calling me! It was worst than a bad, blind date who couldn't take social cues that you just weren't interested!! Then, I got a recommendation from my irrigation company to call Trugreen's commercial division. My property is 10,000 s/f with a 2 acre manicured lawn and landscaping, so I was able to seek their services. I was hesitant at first, but decided to give it a try. I work with Joe Wood, who has been extremely responsive, very patiently responding to all my questions. They did a total kill over 2 acres, and then fertilized it; then put seeds down (oh..after removing all of the woody weed stumps). The grass grew back within 2 weeks of seeding, but there were some light spots. I didn't mind them because I figured they would grow in time, but Trugreen came and reseeded those areas with their tractor again. They are Tru-perfectionists! Overall, I've been very pleased with their customer services and skills. I would definitely recommend their commercial division. Not sure if you would qualify, but doesn't hurt to ask. Beyond words awful. This is the monsanto of lawn care. Our lawn has long term damage they even admitted messing up on our treatments. Then you call and make a stink, they put you on hold then hang up. They say they will call and never do, it takes a few tries. Our weeds have never been worse. I would bet they did ghost services to save time. Their billing is poor too. They don't keep good records and try to use semantics to avoid accountability. The absolute worst company I have ever dealt with horrible job never did half of what they said came 3 times crab grass,weeds still there burn spots abound. Two years ago we spent a lot of time and money reseeding our lawn. We then contracted with Trugreen to take care of our lawn. This July we realized our lawn was about 90% weeds. We contacted Trugreen to inform them of this and express our displeasure. We returned from a vacation to find our lawn to be now 90% brown, dead weeds. Apparently a note to not apply pre-emergent weed killer from our first years service was never removed from our account. After two years of paying to have Trugreen care for my lawn it is now in worse shape than it ever was. It is an embarrassment. The time and money we spent seeding our lawn has been wasted due to Trugreens inattention. The money we spent the last year treating our lawn has all been wasted. I have called Trugreen multiple times to try to speak to someone in management to see what they plan to do to reimburse us for our loss and to see what they plan to do about the sorry state of our lawn. I have not lived in Mass. or used their services for almost 2 years now and they continue to call me each month, trying to sell their services. I live in Wilbraham and let me start with the good parts of my service this year: - Respectful and nice employees both in actual service and customer service - Effective first two applications in the spring prevented many dandelion type of weeds and also supported the growth of the lawn Bad parts of my service: - Ineffective applications in the summer caused serious crabgrass growth that killed a serious amount of my lawn - These applications were done during the rain or right before the rain, but the application report notes that irrigation should not be done within 24 hours after the application. - 'Wait for three weeks to see the result' direction in the application report prevented me to get the reservice which I would get it for free. - I had to manually remove the crabgrasses to reseed the areas which took a lot of time and effort. - When contacted about this issue, I was promised to get reservice even reseeding for free next season, if I subscribe the service again for the next season. - Subscription requires and opt-out otherwise you are automatically in. - Employees did not contact me about their visits. The customer service indicated that I opted out the notifications. I might have mistakenly done that due to marketing messages. - I was offered tree and shrub care and reseeding services, both were very expensive to get, especially for an existing customer. - I later noticed that I paid 1.5 times of my friend who has the same yard-size. As a result, I cancelled my subscription and I recommend you to do it by yourself or through another company. read more

I have used this service for 20 yrs. They have been HORRIBLE this year. Mistake #1....should have paid closer attention to what they were doing. Mistake #2...Trusting that I was getting what I was paying for. Mistake #3....Calling customer service and actually expecting to get some customer service. I recently started working nights so now I'm home when they come to do my lawn, that's unfortunate for them, because I have had two recent services that took less than 5 minutes to complete...10,000 sf in less than 5 minutes? REALLY??? When I did speak to someone in customer service and let them know I had an issue, the person was very sweet, was so sorry I wasn't happy with my service, and promised me the world...I GOT NOTHING!!! I was told I would get a call from the service manager by the end of the day...NOTHING!! She was supposed to change my phone number on the account...NOTHING!! She couldn't even give me a straight answer on the services I was supposedly getting. I called Customer NonService again today....she didn't even pretend to be interested and I'm sure she'll be less help then the last one. Time to move on.... read more

They keep promising to aerate and over seed but it never appears to be on the schedule. Manager has been supposed to call back for weeks. First off, at the beginning of my TRUNATURAL applications, I had 5 dogs and 1 outdoor cat and 1 indoor cat. I now have 1 Indoor cat. Thank you trugreen for taking care of all the holes in my yard. Because my dead dogs can no longer dig. Because of the lymphoma they developed due to the use of their chemicals. The only bright side of my services was being introduced to my wonderful sales rep and now close friend. read more

I have been using TruGreen for a long time. Besides being overpriced and selling things I don't need, my lawn still doesn't look good, which leads them to selling me more seeding year after year. Additionally, after I cancelled tree service, they gave me one more spraying and sent me to collection after I cancelled it the year before - note they sent me to collection even though I pay them for lawn fertilizing on a monthly basis. Last week, someone from their company left us a basically illegible message in a bag with some leaves telling me that I needed to reup on their tree service. He was in the sales department, so his evaluation of our trees was not by an expert, except for someone who is expert in upselling their clients. When I brought the specimen to a local well respected garden store, they told me that there was nothing wrong with my trees since any damage they saw was more related to the high temperatures that everyone is experiencing. Also the rep from Tru Green used a term that the tree expert I spoke with told me that is not a term used by professional tree experts. Time to find another company. Stay away. read more

TruGreen as a whole is a terrible company. Not only is TruGreen from Chicopee awful, but everything associated with TruGreen sucks. April of 2013 I signed up for a service. They inspected the entire lawn, gave me a fair price & proceeded to send a crew out. The manager came and stated the Sales Rep under bid the job and the manager stated he couldn't treat a certain part of the yard, but that they would honor the price for 1 year. Great. Until they sneak in their double treatment & double billing. Not the end of the world, but deceptive enough. Follow up to the next year, when your rate goes up, and they continue to not treat the area that you've solved 'it has dirt, we can't treat that'. Cancel the service at the end of the year because TruGreen is just frustrating to deal with. Then they begin an assault of phone calls, sometimes 2-3 times a day trying to get you to sign up. After you tell them 20 times you aren't interested, that if I'm interested, I'll call you and set up a date to begin again, they SHOW UP ANYWAY UNANNOUNCED AND WON'T LEAVE YOUR PROPERTY. They then continue to call you daily. After you complain on their Facebook page & file a complaint with the BBB, I received a phone call from an aggressive collection agency in Massachusetts, stating I owe $58.00 from April of 2013. They claim I refuse to pay it, that they will proceed to sue me and have a "Capias issued for your arrest". I called TruGreen and the lady I spoke with stated I do not owe any debt, April of 2013 was when I signed up & that my first treatment is FREE anyway. She proceeds to say that I need to tell the collection agency I don't owe the debt. Yeah, good luck, like they've never heard that before. Goodluck with TruGreen.
