Alot of no shows or doesnt complete the treatment. They never knock on the door when they arrive, its crazy how they operate their business.

If I could give minus stars, I would. I'd like to stress that I'm not talking about the operators but the management. Our lawn was ruined by Highpoint, the company they took over so we signed with them for a year as they assured us they would repair the damage. No such luck. They treated it exactly as they would any other lawn and we ended up with a shocking mess. They took no special care of our particular needs whatsoever. The didn't even check the Ph of the soil which is about as basic as you can get. Now, after making an appointment to come today, they didn't show up claiming we were rescheduled for next week but didn't bother to tell us. They lie on the phone,make utterly pathetic excuses and expect us not only to believe them but still pay for their uncaring services. Use ANY OTHER lawn service but stay as far away from Trugreen as possible. You'll save money, time and grief if you do. A more pathetic excuse for a company doesn't enter my realm. Like David I got True Green in 2019 as they bought my previous vendor who I had for a number of favorable years. In comparison hard to write any positives. Three out of five scheduled services they provided no weed control. Treated for Grubs but still got them along with Skunk returning. Worst lawn I have had in a number of years. Complained often and mostly got lip service. They did make two additional trips to treat weeds but they failed. Moving on for 2020 with another vendor read more

I made the mistake of prepaying this year. Middle of September and I've only received 3 of 6 visits. The last visit I had to call them as it had been two months since the previous visit. It's been two months again. Next year I'll go to a small local company for lawn care. read more

If I had looked on yelp I guess I would have known to stay away from tru green... but I didnt, and now I am paying the price. We have been paying tru green to spray for ticks, mosquitoes, and fleas for the past few months. Today, my daughter who is less than two just got diagnosed with lyme disease, from a tick bite she got in our backyard. I thought our family was safe because we paid to have the yard sprayed, but I was wrong. Tru green has done damage to my family that they cant undo. And I tried to contact them for a refund of their obviously useless services, and they said there was absolutely nothing they could do. They even said they didnt believe the tick was from my yard, which, it was, because we've been in quarantine for months. It's a scam, they might as well be spraying water on your lawn. It's just a shame I didnt know sooner. I wish it was me instead of my daughter. read more

Extremely deceptive sales tactics. Beware of what you are getting yourself into. They sell the service as a "yearly" lawn service. Most sensible people would assume this is for a year of service. Think again. It is for a certain number of applications, which they conveniently do in about 10 months time. Then in month 10 or 11, they start their "yearly" service all over again, so your "annual" cost is much more than they lead you to believe. You may be ok with this, it is just that they should absolutely be upfront & honest about this at the time they sign you up. Not to mention had as many, if not more weeds at the end of the the year of service than when I started. Not really sure what I paid for, as they never eliminated the weeds. Also, they are almost twice as much as most other lawn services, so will never use them again. read more

I got an aeration and Seed last Tuesday my lawn was ripped up in chunks not just normal aeration they didn't leave any signs or paperwork saying what they did like they normally do I called to complain every day of the week with no response this company thus far has not been very prominent very disappointed I would love to add pictures to this website but I'm not sure on how to do it read more

I started using tru green this year because they bought out the company that used to take care of my lawn. This year has been a total disaster. There are weeds galore on my property. They never showed up in the spring to spray for crabgrass so crab grass is taking over many areas. I spoke to Maria, one of the managers and she assured me that she would send a specialist out to come up with a plan to improve my lawn. They sent over someone who had no solutions to the problem. When I tried to call her she did not call me back. They talk a good game but they are obviously incompetent! read more

Run away from this company. After having mediocre service the last 5 years I kept having them do the service. Questionable coverage on the lawn when they did show up. Now this year they just won't show up. We've made calls to ask why they didn't show and they don't know why! They reschedule and they don't show up again! You call and they say "oh it's been rescheduled". It took 6 days for a manager to call back when requested. We had already canceled and hired a local independent business for less. read more

Awful company! I've used them for several years; however, they nose-dived when they merged with Highpoint a couple years ago. They apply product according to their schedule rather than by what your lawn needs. In addition, the weed killer they apply does not work. Now, they do offer to come back and reapply if you don't see results, but this is not a viable solution especially since I have dogs and that solution adds to the number of days they cannot go on the lawn. I have spoken with them about this and no corrective action was taken. I am done with these guys at the end of this season. read more

If I could go lower, I would. Paid extra for tree and shrub service. Have been in touch several times due to damage and received promises to come see the damage to my hydrangea plants. Purchased 3 large from Hafner's 3 years ago. Huge blooms repeating throughout the season. This year the first bloom in May and since have had nothing but yellow leaves. Killed my Lily of The Valley and several of my Daylilies on the side yard. Last call was yesterday they contacted me they would have someone here today to speak with me and review the damage. It's now 5:30 Friday night and nothing. This call was from a so called manager Brian. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! Very unprofessional and unreliable. read more

A representative from Trugreen came to our door and provided a written quote for service. When we called to sign up for service, we were told that they would not honor that quote despite having it in writing and the name of the employee that provided it. After spending hundreds of dollars to have my lawn treated, TruGreen showed up to spray, and got their motorized tractor (that should not have been on my lawn) stuck in the lawn. Then instead of getting me, the home owner, their technician took a piece of siding and lift gate boards off the side of my garage and used them to get their tractor unstuck. In the process he damaged my property and then left everything in the middle of the lawn for me to clean up. I then spent over a week trying to speak to a supervisor. No one will call me back! I have not bee reimbursed the money I paid. I have not had my damaged property replaced! I cannot even get a courtesy phone call back. The best is that I have a great ADT camera system on the entire exterior of my house, so I have everything on film. To include the technician using my pine trees as a restroom. I am highly disappointed! read more

After 5 years of living in Skanateles Lake, we finally had the 1 acre lawn looking great except for some crabgrass. We decided to give TruGreen a go since they sought us out. I used Trugreen-Syracuse last year. The service was either good or very poor depending on which worker was sent. I contacted them multiple times to express dissatisfaction and was mostly dissatisfied with the remedies. The kicker was that they put down "trupower" 3 days after I paid them to overseed and aerate (several hundred dollars to do so) which killed all the grass seed. The Trupower label clearly reads that you must not plant seed within several weeks of an application. Contemplating a small claims action to recoup the money wasted on the seeding. read more

Terrible company. They killed my lawn (had used Grimm from 2008-2016, they did a great job). In 2016 TrueGreen sales undercut the Grimms price considerably so I made the switch for 2017. During my first year with TrueGreen they basically killed my yard. I asked to speak with the franchise manager but could never get a decision maker on the phone. Then, coincidentally towards the end of summer 2017 another TrueGreen sales person came to my door, said my lawn looks terrible and TrueGreen can fix it, imagine the expression on his face when I told him TrueGreen is my lawn care provider and his company killed my yard! The salesman gave me the name of the franchise owner who then proceed to lie and tell me he'd fix the lawn at his expense so I gave them a second chance for the following summer 2018. He didn't fix the lawn, it never came back to the level that Grimm kept it. But the lier did back bill me for all the services he promised would be free... I could never get him on the phone again, I refused payment, they sent it to collections and I just paid the collections company to avoid negative reporting. TrueGreen won... they killed my yard and then stole my money. Whatever you do don't let this company near your yard or your wallet!!! read more

Always professional!. All of the lawn care specialists are always very nice, professional, and willing to answer any questions. I am pleased that with the time frame that i have been getting my lawn treated (too many years to remember - i think about 18) that the price increases have been minimal. This is one of the very reasons i stay with tru green - We all know that when its time to shave the budget - it's things like lawn treatment - that are one of the first to go- however because of the reasonable amount we- still continue! read more

they called 8/2/17 said they would be at my house on 8/3/17 and they would seed the lawn where they killed the grass. and quess what. the person that came out didn't know what to do. her boss didn't tell her what to do and i was at work . so she did nothing. i called the company when i got home and have cancelled my service i don't want them at my house again. don't call me or mail me anything again. i have called another company and they are coming out tomorrow. wish me luck. because tru green does not back thier work up. read more
