The services were decent for the 1 year I was with this company, however, after I cancelled my contract with them. They continued to schedule appointments and try to charge my card. During my first treatment application the technician used a hand spreader to disperse fertilizer. As someone who previously worked in the industry I was immediately caught off gaurd that this company was laying down product in this manner. Hand spreaders are notoriously difficult to use in order to ensure proper product coverage is met. After that treatment Utah experienced a few dry weeks so I didnt jump to conclusions that the service was performed poorly. But once we started to get rain again it became clear that my lawn was dead and it was due to nitorgen burn. I contacted customer service who sent out a techinician to look at my lawn. Considering the extent of the damage I refused that level of response and demanded that a manager come out. The technician wasn't able to get ahold of a manager, but said he would out a note in for one to contact me. Four days later I finally called and it turned out the tech forgot to deliver the message. During this call they attempted to justify the company's response policy and promised me a manager would come assess my lawn. Two days later I recieved a voicemail from them saying that a manager and tech had come out, put down some revive, and assesed the damage in my lawn to be from bugs (that is a blanket explanation used in some cases when a lawn has damage that is minor and cant easily be attributed to a cause). I then called back and informed them that both my wife and I had been home all day and had no indications that anyone visited our home. No doorbell knocks, no legally required lawn staking indicating chemicals had been applied, and no visible product/residual chemical residue. They went to the wrong house. Each time I called customer service, each email interaction that I had with this company, was with an entirely new person that had no case continuity. Hired Trugreen to come out this summer and treat our lawn at our new build. The lawn is a year old and we needed some help getting it to thicken up, deal with some bare patches, etc. As you can see from my photos, we are not impressed. This area is my front lawn and I brought up concerns with them multiple times and was told different things each time. They showed up today and did aeration and seeding after I did not request it and then tried to charge me $278!! That was my last straw. I was trying to be patient to see results and I am leaving very unsatisfied. I have had these guys come to my house to spray for weeds for the past two years. I got a service done back in June, and my lawn had started to go yellow. Do not do business with Tru Green. We used their service and were not satisfied with their service (weeds kept coming back, etc) so we stopped the service. Since then, we have been inundated with phone calls and emails. We ask them to put us on their "do not call" list but they KEEP CALLING! And emailing! And Texting! We hired TruGreen to get rid of the thistle weeds in the back of our yard. After a year and $600 the lawn was no better and the weeds worse than ever. After contacting their customer service they said they would reservice the lawn. After the 1 additonal service it was no better but they said we were out of luck and we could pay another year of service if we wanted them to continue to come. Do Not use this service. It is a total waste of money and their so called "guarantee" means absolutely NOTHING! Stay away from this lawn service at all cost. They came and provided the service I purchased but after 4 weeks, none of my weeds died. If nothing else they were flourishing because of the nitrogen application. I called to ask for someone to reapply the weed killer. After a 2nd application still no results. After a third application with absolutely no results I canceled my service. During the winter months I got several calls asking for me to give them a second chance with all kinds of promises. The next summer I had exactly the same problem. Multiple application and my weeds were flourishing. They were growing like gang busters. I called to once again cancel my service but the lady said they would not refund my money. Instead she offered to send someone out to do yet another reapplication of worthless weed killer. When I explained what had happened she refused to refund my $80. I canceled my service on the spot. As expected I started getting calls asking me to give them another chance. This time when I explained what happened the guy actually told me that his own dad had the same complaint! Seriously???? I cannot say it enough. Go to any other lawn care company but TruGreen. I'm still irritated that they would not refund my money when they couldn't give me what they promised they would. Most people would consider that theft. read more

Trugreen has absolutely a truly awful service provider in 2021. I have been a regular customer for years and prepay for 6 services per season, but this year they have only appeared on two occasions (as of Aug 4) after I have spent over 40 minutes on their customer service phone number and chat app each time to find out why I my lawn is not getting done. I would highly recommend against spending over $300 per year for them, only to be have them no-show and cancel appointments. This is the last season I will do business with them, once my credits are used. I will look into a local small business to have service my lawn from now on. You have been warned. We have been using this business for a couple of years now and it's gotten progressively worse with every visit. They never let us know when they are coming. We have weeds COVERING our lawn, which used to be really nice. We've mentioned it multiple times, and they always give us a bunch of lip service as to why, but never fix it. For the amount we pay, we shouldn't have a single weed. They've left our gates open despite repeatedly telling them not to because we have dogs, and one of the techs rolled his eyes at my handicapped mother when she asked him not to. The last straw was today. The tech drive up to our house, sat in his truck, and wrote something down, then drove off. We got a text five minutes later saying the house couldn't be serviced. He never even got out of his truck or called us. Nothing. This is the worst lawn care company we've ever dealt with. There are visible weeds growing in our lawn that we've had service calls for and yet they are still there. You guys need to be more pro-active when servicing a lawn and take care of all visible weeds. I have contacted David several times and he promised to send a technician out but never did and he also told me he'll called me back to look at the schedule but it didn't happened either. I feel like he just wanted to give me a good deal at the times when I signed up. I do not recommend David as a sales manager to anyone. Please do your research before sign up with TruGreen. I own a rental home that was having a few problems with grubs and weeds. Nothing serious so I signed up and paid for a full year in advance. I told them specifically I did not want to continue after 2017. The treatments were WAY more expensive than doing it myself, and honestly, the lawn did not improve. Truegreen kept calling me during the year to try up-sell me on additional services that I did not want or need. Honestly it was really annoying. This year, they said they came by and did a treatment. I did not authorize any additional treatment but that didn't stop them from billing me. They kept sending the bill to the rental home, and it kept getting returned, so I didn't get anything. I have now spent MANY fruitless phone calls talking to representatives. They have canceled all future treatments but still say I owe them $60. I call shenanigans. I am so grateful for the TruGreen team. We moved into a rental home the front yard had quite a few weeds and the back yard was completely weedy! We coordinated with the home owners to get treatment. After the first treatment we saw the weeds had dissapeared. When we noticed a couple of smaller weeds trying to peek through we called the team out and they resprayed at no additional cost. Our front yard is thicker and greener and we couldn't be more happy with the results. The back yard was a complete loss everything was weed so we have Tru Green coming out later in the season to seed. The sales rep stopped by just to check up on things, he noticed a few patches in the front yard and sent a team out to reseed the area. We have had great experiences with the service techs, professional and courteous. read more

This company as very pure customer service and follow through. I called and ask for a service person to come out and look at my lawn, It had big yellow spots. The service person said, he wasn't sure what was causing the problem. He said, he would just spay and hope for the best. This happen twice, two different techs. We would not recommend using TruGreen for your lawn care needs. They came out on 3/22/17 and we haven't seen them since. Despite multiple calls to both the local rep and the national customer service number, we've received absolutely no follow up. We still have weeds & bugs. The local office won't call back. If I could leave a Zero rating I would. Towards 3/4 of the year I paid for their service, nothing in my lawn had improved. They told me they'd get rid of the grubs, the crab grass, even the tree shoots. They sent a "specialist" out to review, and even he said the lawn didn't look great, and took a "sample" of my grass back for analysis. Well, never heard back. They had the audacity of trying to go beyond my year and billed me for an extra service, until I called the office. The Manager came out and explained to me that basically everything they promised they could do for me was a lie. "The type of crab grass you have, there's nothing on the market that will get rid of it". Amazing that info didn't come out until AFTER a year of service. When I asked for a refund because of their GUARANTEE, he refused. What the hell is a guarantee for? I will continue to tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away from this company and terrible service. 2018 was a disastrous year for my yard. Immediately after their first treatment, my lawn developed many areas of browning, as irregular, linear, and geometric shapes. I complained to Truegreen, who diagnosed them as mild, and said they would take care of them. Because of their shapes, absence of grubs, and other features, I doubted that diagnosis and didn't know what they represented. Trugreen never returned to treat these specific areas. I invited several other lawn care people and plant specialists. None of these suspected "mold." No one had a definitive diagnosis. Because of the shapes, some suggested Exposure to herbicides, possibly from contaminated Trugreen service hoses. The issues persisted throughout the summer, without attention from Truegreen, in spite of several calls from me requesting that they be addressed. At year end, we fertilized, aerated, and overseeded. Most of the dead areas repopulated and resolved. I learned that Steve Trader has been dismissed, but none of those who responded to my complaints were of much assistance. We have used TruGreen for at least 6 years. The last year their service really started going down hill. IF we would get our scheduled service, they only did half of the yard. We have cameras so we could see that the last few applications, they did not do the back yard. At one point, they decided not to come because they said the dog was outside. Which is not true, or we would have been with him, and once again, we have cameras and would have know if they showed up. For some reason, we have not had a service since November. I got the Trudy call that they would be out a few weeks ago. No one showed up. I called to question it and was "promised" that they would show up the following Friday or Saturday. Still, no one showed up. I called again and was informed the wait time was 1 - 2 hours to talk to someone, so I entered in my phone number. No one called me back. I did this two more times before I was finally able to talk to someone. At that point, I was informed that we were due for service today. I asked that our account be put on hold as I was looking into other companies that actually wanted our business. I also requested a manger to call me so. I received a phone call yesterday from someone named Jennifer. Not sure if she was a manager or not, as she did not identify herself as one. She informed me in the message that we had a service performed for today - which was suppose to be postponed. The number she left for me to call her back, was the general number to TruGreen. I once again left my phone number for someone to call back, as it was a long wait. After waiting 3 hours and not getting a call back, I called once again. I was able to talk to someone and was informed that they did not know who Jennifer was. At that time, I requested our service be cancelled. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are unreliable and don't seem to care too much about correcting their wrongs and making sure their customers are happy. read more

I even submitted a complaint on their website where they promise "someone will get back to you within a business day." Yeah that happened. In summary, they ruined our grass - chemical burn (as confirmed by the TruGreen 'manger in training'). The employees contradict one another as they try to cover up the issues they caused. The 'manager in training' promised to fix the grass "ASAP" and be in touch the next day to schedule a date. A week and 5 calls later I can't get anyone to call me back. I have left 5 messages with various customer services representatives (from the national call center) and they were all very polite and apologetic. The last two representatives put me on hold while trying to contact the office, directly, as they were so appalled at what I have been through so far (not to mention the 2,000 yards of destroyed grass). As always, no manager was available but would 'call me back'. I am hoping someone will read this yelp review from the corporate office and realize just how much the West Jordan, UT office is in need of serious support (just check all the reviews on google, too)!
