The art center is a pretty important part of my personal history. We returned for a quick weekend and stopped into their holiday shop which was wonderful and picked up some unique Christmas gifts. The art center has built additional event and classroom space and continues to be an important part of the community. If you're looking for beautiful gifts, please stop in. If you just want to wander through an interesting space, please stop in. The Richland Art Center is a bastion of the arts for the local community and is a must see!

The art gallery is free and open to the public to browse and take in the art, and the classes that you can take here are varied and not super expensive. My family and I visited from out of town to tour the facility and peek into the gallery, but if I lived in the area, I would totally take advantage of the classes here. They offer glass blowing, ceramics, stained glass, oil painting, jewelry making, watercolor paining and lots more. The work space they have set up for classes is bright and airy, and there are lots of materials everywhere in the organized space. They have kilns and ovens for creating pottery and glass pieces, and the whole area is just super conducive to creativity. They have rotating exhibits that feature local and not-so-local artists, in a gallery that with everything from paintings to sculptures. It's a great space to just wander around and get inspired.

Our house was about to go on the market and I was in the backyard weeding. I quickly changed clothes and we headed downtown. Brooke insisted I try on a wedding dress on the clearance rack. I was hesitant but it turned out to be lovely and I bought it not knowing if and when I would use it. Once I knew we would marry on the beach, I tried the previous dress on and decided it wasn't the right look. On December 23, I luckily found an appointment for December 27. I filled out the form and told Carrolyn she was only the second person to know our plans. I didn't know if it was possible, but I needed to walk out Wednesday with dress in hand because I was getting on a plane Friday. I knew that I wanted Brooke at my appointment even if she didn't know I'd be wearing the dress in three days! I arrived first so Carrolyn and I could talk and then Brooke was dropped off from practice. I wanted to surprise her but the darn basketball schedule threw a wrench in my plans. I didn't have a vision but Carrolyn knew exactly what would look amazing on me and had several off the rack options. We truly had a boutique wedding dress experience. I was hoping to find a dress that would fit pretty well yet had six beautiful choices and had a hard decision between two. Brooke helped tip the scale, and she was absolutely right. It fit perfectly. The accessory choices were vast and gorgeous. I chose the headpiece, earrings and bracelet and another pair of fun earrings to wear during our trip. There were endless choices, so again, I left it to the expert. I joked with Carrolyn that I was helping her bring up the median bridal age. You might not be searching for a bridal gown, but perhaps a white dress for an upcoming event or can refer a bride. Ivory Room is a wonderful addition to downtown Wooster and their expansion into the former White's Jewelers is a testament to their growth. Carrolyn is a breeze to work alongside and made the experience lovely. She listened fully and worked with me having no idea what I hoped to look like. There are so many dresses and having an expert pick is a gift. She was honest and kind--not surprising if you know her--and the dress made me feel truly gorgeous!

Even asked for help from Etsy - you guessed it... no reply. Get this - he's seen this before. Read on..."verbatim": "I'm sorry to hear there is drama about. We've tried to conquer the tangle problem. The packer promised us they would resolve it (and in most cases they did) but every once in a while, we hear about this. The chips you are showing me are called shedding. Quartz agate is very flaky on the outside of the geode. It's one of the ways they know it's a geode and not a regular rock. They dye them by heating the rock and putting them in boiling dye. This heat expansion has the rock soak in the dye and in the process of cooling it also makes the flaky stuff on the outside even more brittle and it sheds itself after it cools. They usually get weeded out with the polishing but they do that when the rocks are still warm and so the cooling of the rock has not had a whole lot of time to take place yet and we find the sheds instead. I've seen many like this. Do you want to return it? I would be happy to facilitate that if you wish." I thought it was pretty, but didn't want a *broken* one. Ever heard of a little something called 'quality control'? Been around for ages. Course, if purchases are made outside the country, marked up, then resold, I guess "perfect" condition goes out the window. He further says: "If you want to keep the item and not return it the most I am permitted refund is 25% under special circumstances which in this case I'm willing to do. Barring that we will pay for the return label and issue a refund upon its arrival." I searched and scoured Etsy for his quote regarding refunding a customer - oddly enough, I couldn't find anything remotely similar. Rather than return it for him to sell it to someone else ***gasp*** it looks nice hanging outside on a tree - used for target practice. My original idea was to give this as a gift, since the favorite color is teal - so I had to spend even more time searching... No, I wouldn't dream of purchasing from..... OH wait - Etsy, Amazon, eBay - and whoever else he may sell through, shouldn't allow this kind of treatment of customers by their sellers. And yes, it's posted elsewhere, so that others are informed.
