We spent the morning going over safety procedures at the gun range, shooting from different distances and then we spent the later part of the day learning how we would ideally conduct ourselves while carrying a firearm. And we were also prepared for the next steps to successfully obtain a concealed carry license. Drick is passionate about teaching the community how to handle firearms safely and obtaining the necessary paperwork to do so legally. You will literally have a "blast!" taking this class. I am not currently a gun owner, but I wanted to educate myself on proper usage and the laws regarding gun ownership. I didn't know what to expect but whatever my expectations were, they were greatly exceeded! They were novices such as myself in the class as well as current gun owners and prior military; this was a co-ed class. They had refreshments available, to include good coffee. This is a Black owned business, and I was happy to patronize. I also purchased a unit of pepper gel and a book during our break. We did not go to the range during this class but were told we could go on our own time. I tried to use the "contact us" section of the website to get info about scheduling my range practice. I did not get a response, but this review reminded me to look at pictures I'd taken during class. I have emails and telephone numbers for the instructors, so I'll be reaching out tomorrow. If you're considering taking a course or purchasing a fire arm, you won't be disappointed using Black Diamond.

I attended the class to get my certificate to apply for the NC concealed carry permit, but I left class with so much more. Most importantly I have a greater respect and understanding of my rights and responsibilities as a gun owner. The lecture portion of the course was very informative and did not seem nearly as long and dreadful as it could have been considering that it was an all-day course. These instructors seem to have a true passion for what they do and will take the time to ensure that you are comfortable with not only handling a firearm, but also that you are knowledgeable about the legal aspects of owning one. They also offer private lessons and various skills classes including cleaning the firearm, tactical, basic shooting, etc. The range location that I attended was in Concord and it is an outdoor set-up. The set-up is very basic, but more important is the hands-on instruction that is provided. Even though I brought my own firearm on both occasions that I have gone, they offered to give me a brief rundown of the mechanics of my gun. During my actual range time they were helpful in providing tips to improve my accuracy and for handling the firearm. I certainly look forward to setting up a small group for private lessons here in the near future.

He's extremely professional, has a great demeanor & delivers the content in a clear-to-understand manner. He's also fantastic with kids (he does a kids handgun safety course, as well as other adult handgun classes). In his home, it's a more intimate environment as he limits headcount. This allows for more absorption of the class content and important safety guidelines. Live fire after class is right in his backyard. His flexibility, cost and delivery all make Michael a great choice for your CC Training.
