This store is not professional. I had a membership and class refunded to me and they banned me from the store out of pettiness. I waited for a background delay (I have a completely clean background), was told and confirmed I could purchase a different firearm instead of the initial firearm upon the end of the delay period. I go into the store, they wasted my time for over an hour because they could not figure out how to swap the weapons like they said they could. I asked if I could have my membership refunded. I can understand the frustration with that. I then attended a class required for my profession which satisfied the CCL requirements for NC. I was unaware the course I was attending satisfied those requirements until during the course, they mentioned it. I called Point Blank upon being made aware, explained that situation and they refunded me for the CCL class. I came in to shoot at the range. A staff member had the audacity to tell me it was not personal and they banned me from the store. I was told I was banned from the store due to the "refunds" and how they don't refund classes and because of the situation with the firearm exchange. That problem was due to their incompetence. What does that have to do with me? Are they mad because they had to do extra work? Do more research? Take more time? I'm unsure. May I mind you, I did the CCL refund over the phone, asked if it was a possibility. The employee explained to refunds for classes are on a case by case basis. I said "okay, thank you brother for asking". He came back on the line, said it was authorized and refunded me. Meanwhile, before all this, I was at this range 2-4 times a week, purchased my first firearm with them, and was consistently respectful of the staff and rules. I do not get the negative reviews. What the hell. I have been going here for well over a year. The guys that work here are salt of the earth. Wyatt, Dalton, Cody, Tony, to name a few. These guys are awesome. Dalton taught me to shoot and have been going back ever since. Nicest dude around. Everyone is so welcoming the minute I walk in the door. Facilites are great. They pop in every so often while people are shooting to give pointers. The rental wall is updated pretty regularly with the latest guns. Never any pressure sales or nagging you to buy crap. This was a first and a last time for me and the family. I decided to take my family to the range since my sister has never been to one. It all started out good everyone shooting until one of the range employee came in and started chewing me out about shooting the equipment. The whole time I was reloading magazines My sister boyfriend accidentally shot the top of the target hitting the equipment, no damage was done to the equipment but we didn't even know it was hit. He told us we would be charged $75 so we where cool about it until my wife and dad who was sitting in lobby heard the guy come out making a big deal about it in front of everyone. My wife came and got me and told me it was time to leave because of the way the employee over reacted. So we got everything packed and sister boyfriend payed the $75 fine. Then when i went to Pay the bill and asked for a military discount and showed my military id card they said they couldn't offer one because they started closing the bill but I haven't even swipe my card yet. So how are you closing the bill if a transaction hasn't been made yet. So we payed the bill and lifted, I will not be coming back and they left a bad impression for my sister who has never been to a range. read more

I went to Point Blank Range Mooresville with little handgun experience. Wyatt was phenomenal. He took time to explain everything. He was knowledgeable on the handguns and made suggestions on one's that would work best for me. When firing the handgun, he gave me pointers on how to hold to get the best results. Point Blank Range in Mooresville is top of the line! I've been going there for almost two years now. I had been looking for a good indoor range that was reasonably close by for me in Huntersville. I consider everyone who works there a friend. Everyone is so helpful. Even for an old guy like me that's been shooting my whole life all the guys offer me pointers on how to get better and only if I ask for help! No high pressure sales tactics or anything like that . They know I enjoy shooting .45's so if they get something new in they will mention it to me but no high pressure at all. The range officers keep everyone safe. They do have some basic rules that are easy to follow and again it's because the rules keep us safe. Great facility and several membership offerings in case you want to join and you do get some perks with membership. I wouldn't consider going any place else! If you could give a half star I would. This place has some of the most rude uninformed employees I have ever seen. They get attitudes when pressed for answers they get stressed when there is only a few people in the store and the management is clearly not there or just really terrible and with the amount of suicides at the range thats clear. People stay away from this place till it's bought out or new management installed. It's not safe there. read more

Worst experience that I have had in 20 years!!! It took a long time to check in. Not user friendly. Once I was on the range, they kept adding/changing the rules. I asked to see a manager and he instantly was blaming me(customer) and defending everything that his staff was doing without question. Horrible customer service. I can't speak for the quality of the range here, but as for quality of service and goods in-store I think Point Blank checks out a-okay. I took a three day hunter education course as a prereq to getting my hunting license and the class was taught by a man and woman who both worked here at the store. They were great, all around knowledgeable teachers and staff. They knew all there was to know about hunting, gun safety and even gun basics. You can tell by the way they presented this they're well versed in working with all sorts of clientele in the shop and class whether it's a first time shooter or a veteran marksman. On first sight, trying to talk to people and seem like you're worth their time in here can be a bit tough. It helps to go in with a basic understanding of the minimum amount of shooting vocabulary otherwise you're likely to leave peeved by their borderline pretentiousness. However, I tend to personally dash that aside because the fact is I'm not a guy who looks like the typical type you see around these joints. All in all, prices are a bit steep on some accessory items here but if you dig around you can find a thing or two that is surprisingly cheap. The guns are reasonably priced and I'd say on the cheaper end of the price spectrum for shops. They've got great Federal bulk pack ammunition boxes and tons of tactical gear for those of you out there looking for some sort of battle in your backyard. The range features lots of gun options to try out and staff over there is highly professional. I will need to go back sometime soon to get the full experience here and do some shooting. read more

This is my experience today at Point Blank Range when I went to purchase a 9mm hand gun. I was ready with my back ground check paper work in hand as I walked in. There were 3 employees standing behind the gun counter talking to each other. I stood there for a bit waiting and then one of the guys asked if I needed anything. I said I was looking for a SIG 9mm. He told me that they don't have any SIG's and went back to talking to the other co-workers. I stood there looking at the guns in the case for a while waiting for them to finish. I finally gave up. They were not interested in helping me purchase a gun it seemed. I walked to my car and googled "guns for sale near me". I drove to a store not away. I walked in and a person told me they would be right with me once they finished helping out someone else. About 2 minutes later he came over and asked what I was looking for. I told him I was interested in a SIG. He didn't have any and offered to order me one. He asked me a few questions and then he pulled out some hand guns for me to look at. He was very helpful and I ended up purchasing a Smithfield EMP4. I love it!! Now if the unfriendly sales people at Point Blank were interested in helping customers as much as talking amongst themselves, they could of sold me a gun today. I love Point Blank Range! My girlfriend and I drive close to 45 minutes from Concord to shoot at this range. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and patient! We have been to other ranges and have felt like they are pushy, and that we should already know what we want. My girlfriend had only shot my keltec and she was wanting to shoot something more suited for her size and grip. Jesse was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us. Every weapon she picked up before hand she didn't like. Jesse made a few suggestions and voila! She found the firearm for her and started shooting. When we come into this range and Jesse is not available, other staff members are just as friendly and knowledgeable. The main reason I enjoy Point Blank is for their prices. The range fee is for an all day pass, not like some others in Concord who seem greedy by charging by the hour or half hour. The 9MM ammunition is reasonably priced, and they offer caliber rentals. Meaning that instead of renting one firearm like some ranges in Concord are, at Point Blank you're able to rent the entire caliber for an extremely reasonable price! I would recommend this range to anyone wanting to go to shoot and ENJOY it and not worry about how many half hours you've been in the stall! read more

Point Blank Range in Mooresville was excellent. I went with a group today and we rented the VIP lounge and accompanying range for a few hours. It was very clean and I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff were. Our RSO was outstanding! His knowledge of firearms and expertise was phenomenal, and he made the experience one that we will not forget. At no point did we feel like he was "babysitting" us although he was attentive and very helpful the whole time. This was hands down one of the best experiences of my life and I would highly recommend to others. If you have a group that enjoys firearms and looking for a way to spend a few hours enjoying our American freedom in a way you won't forget, you should check them out. They have a huge range of firearms you can rent from handgun to rifle and plenty of ammo. We also took several of our own handguns and rifles and were able to get some range time with them. Our favorites were the MP5, the Vector, the Mac11, the G18, and the .308 sniper rifle. Forget the video games and movies and go experience these in real life, the experience you can get here in a few hours is more than most will get in their entire life. read more

I haven't gotten to try out the range yet, but the store was great. They carry a good selection of clothing, holsters, and accessories, as well as rifles, pistols, suppressors, and ammo. My wife and I walked in to the store with our young daughter just about a half an hour before they closed. I stopped because I happened to see the sign and wanted to check them out. My daughter was tired and acting up a bit, but the staff were all very friendly and happy to chat, even as they were preparing to close. Prices seemed in line with the average prices I've seen online for everything but the actual firearms. I can't really comment on the firearm prices because I haven't looked at other local stores yet, but usually stores are more expensive than online shops. Not a big deal, because they have to pay for the overhead of the shop. read more

Haven't actually been to this range - however, called to find out lane fees and was told it would be $18, which isnt bad. But when I said there would be 4 of us sharing 2 lanes she said it would $36 per lane. So no multiple shooter discount like most places I've been to. Outrageous! I won't be visiting this range... Might be a great place and my review is based solely on the high lane fees. read more

Buyer beware! I bought a rail light from a salesman there that apparently has no idea what the policies are because he said I could bring it back just in case it didn't work. HE EVEN SAID IT WOULD BE AN E RECEIPT SO IT WOULD BE IN THEIR SYSTEM. I went to return the light because my gun doesn't have a rail system and the first thing I'm told is that they don't do returns on lights!!! The only thing the smug a@$hole I was talking to said was "sorry man". I can't stand a liar or poor customer service and this place checked both of those blocks! There are plenty of other gun stores and this is not the only game in town. I recommend dealing with an HONEST dealer who stands behind what they tell you and honors their damn word!! But I guess you really can't expect much these days anymore, can you?!? I recommend you go to Aisle Pawn Shop or Academy Sports in Mooresville. I found that Point Blank Range is one of the better shooting ranges in the Lake Norman area. They have better equipment than most other ranges and Range Safety Officers making sure everyone is having safe, yet fun experience. They charge $18 a person, for all day, which is reasonable. You shoot any type of ammo you want, except steel cased ammo. The place is clean and fairly well organized. From what I understand, if you're a (certain level) member, you have 24/7 access privileges to the shooting lanes, which is a very nice feature for those people who work long hours. There are gunsmith services available, but I can not comment on the level of service, or quality of work they do. PBR has a good selection of guns and gear, including NFA items. And they actually carry things you would want to buy. My ONLY complaint is, the few times I was there, the sales personnel in the front of the store (not the range officers), acted like they had a thorn up their backsides. They were some of the most unfriendly people I have met in North Carolina. Maybe they are transplants from NYC???? I don't know. But IMO, that type of attitude will keep customers from returning. I will go back and hopefully they will make some staffing improvements. read more

I visited this range for the first time last weekend, along with my wife for whom it was her first visit to an indoor range ever. The range was recommended to me by a co-worker who is former LE and lives in the LKN area. We made the drive up from Charlotte to check it out. We walked through the pro-shop area which was spacious and easy to navigate. First impression of the range area lounge was impressive - new, wide open, nice observation area. The range attendant was courteous and happy to have us. I'm a gun novice myself, and I think it's pretty obvious, and find a lot of other ranges in town have an elite-ist attitude. I didn't find that here. I was more happy to see my wife put at ease by this than what I feared based on personal experience at other ranges. The range attendant inspected my 5x56 rifle and the ammunition I brought. They obviously don't allow steel-core rounds here. After watching the safety video the attendant walked us into the range to our stall and gave clear instructions on how to operate the target system. He advised us to make sure we weight down any loose target paper in the area as the HVAC tends to move paper around and "things get exciting" if anything crosses the firing line. Halfway through my shooting session, I of course forgot about this and set off an alarm system akin to robbing a bank vault. Aside from being a little embarrassed I was glad to see such a robust safety system in place. No one gave me a hard time either, and they seem to have a very friendly clientele. As a novice shooter that likes to take my time learning, I like the fact that there isn't a time limit when they aren't full. The place was fairly busy as we still weren't asked to step out at any time. I would have gladly done so if asked. Their retail section was exactly that - retail. For those who complain about higher retail prices, there are plenty of other ways to source your firearms and ammunition but are less convenient and you sacrifice service. I'm from the internet generation so paying 20-30% more for a firearm or ammo would be tough, but I would buy accessories and other smaller items from here where the markup would basically be incurred in shipping if you bought online. Very friendly staff that are patient with customers. As Allen H said some of the staff are not as knowledgeable as staff in other more "established" gun stores but as in any new business a learning curve is to be expected. I have spent quite a bit of time at PBR as I am a member of their gun club and I have never observed a staff member be discourteous to a customer. Although, wait times do occur b/c there is quite few shooters during peak hours. The price of ammunition is cheaper than Gander Mountain and even Wal Mart. I know b/c I drove to both this morning looking for a 1,000 round deal and PBR is $130 dollars cheaper than GM and WM's selection is pitiful. I also priced Sig Sauer 226's (WM doesn't carry hand guns) and other hand guns & rifles at GM and the prices are comparable with the prices at PBR. As far as the membership prices, you get what you pay for...the private club area has lockers, bathroom facilities, pool table, shower, large screen TVs, custom leather furniture, Wii, poker table and complimentary drinks. Once the club side range is finished after hours access for shooting will also be available to club members. The delay in completing the private range is b/c the contractor is having a problem with suppliers providing some of the range equipment. I enjoy the club as do my 9 and 17 year old daughters and would not hesitate to recommend the club as a fun place to relax and enjoy shooting! read more

TERRIBLE! WATCH OUT FOR THE "SINGLE SHOOTER POLICY"! I'm not one to write reviews but this experience (or lack there of) prompted me to post this review. I travel a lot on business and always bring my firearms so that I can get in some practice without feeling guilty about leaving the wife and kids at home. I've spent hundreds of hours on different ranges across the state and have a concealed carry permit. Upon arriving at Point Blank Range I was told I needed to watch a video because it was my first time there, no biggie, I've seen several versions of the same video at other ranges. After that I was told that they have a "single shooter policy". What the heck is that? I was told that since it was my first time there that I needed to bring a second person to be on my lane with me. What? I'm two hours from home and know nobody in town. I asked if I could bring a person who has never seen or shot a gun to just stand there and they said that would work. Again, what? They said it was for safety. How is having a person with zero experience at my lane safe? Nowhere on there website does it list this strange rule. Absolutely ridiculous. I bet if I did have someone with me they would have charged them a $20 lane fee as well. Needless to say I wasn't permitted to use a lane and the guy at the counter tried to sell me a 1 on 1 lesson with an instructor (who most likely would have less experience than my 40 years) Money grabbers! read more

By far one of the best shooting ranges I have ever been to. When it comes to quality assurance and customer service and an outstanding facility Point Blank Range is number one in all those areas. When it comes to inventory and what they have in stock this place has about everything you could ask for. They are also willing to price match any firearm you find for sale in any other location in this area. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and they offer more courses than any other shooting facility in this region of North Carolina. You'd be a fool not to go here and try this place out. read more
