This update is a bit overdue (this happened last year in April of 2025), but it's been a very tough…read moretime. The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

I usually tell dog walkers that they don't have to walk with her but just sit on the couch with her because my dog will be too scared to go on walks with strangers. Reyna miraculously got my dog to go on walks with her on day 1! I've hired dog walkers before and only on day 8-10 were they able to get my dog to trust them to go on walks. Reyna also texted me to ask me what she can do to encourage my dog to eat cause she was worried about her. I highly recommend reyna to all my friends and to all those dog owners who have timid/skittish dogs. She is simply the best !

Will not give us a direct line to call anyone. They are still holding our key. We are spending a fortune on international calling from Fiji - literally the other side of the planet - and cancelling plans to deal with this.
