It's a must see!…read more While there we met the nicest lady on the trail that told us so many fascinating things about the area and park. We asked her questions about places to buy local rocks, arrowheads, books...other than the gift shop. She told us we could go check out her shop and collection if we'd like. We're so happy we did! We got to meet her other half who is a literal living breathing encyclopedia of fossils, stones, gems, local history, local lure... His fossil collection was in the Smithsonian. AMAZING welcoming owners and place. We bought his book and got it autographed by him. We also bought souvenirs, rocks, post cards... very reasonably priced. We highly recommend visiting them after tge Serpent Mound.

The shop itself features fossils, minerals, jewelry, and works from local artisans. And its centerpiece is a somewhat dilapidated but impressive display of trilobites that once was housed at the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian. What explains this oddity? It seems to be the life work of Thomas Johnson, a local aficionado whose obsessive search for fossils keeps him preoccupied in this small corner of Ohio. When we visited, Johnson's shirt was still dusty from a morning dig. I asked him if the trilobite collection was the result of his own efforts, and he made it clear that it's "in progress". He showed us a piece of trilobite he'd found in the rock that very morning. Nobody's gonna mistake this place for the Smithsonian. But if you dig a good fossil, you'll see a couple here.

There were tons of stones/gems/jewelry, but to the right, there was a little section with clothing, books, records, etc. I grabbed 3 records for $30 and would definitely come back to check out any new clothing or jewelry they bring in. The associate was also very kind and let me have a dog treat for my pup. The one odd thing was that she asked me if I was a rewards member when I was ringing up, and I wasn't but said I'd like to sign up. She rung me up, then signed me up and said since she already rung me up, none of the points would count, so next time's purchase will be the first one I can get points on. They do have a nice rewards program where if you spend $100, you can get 15% off the next visit.

My sister dragged me into this little store after she found it on Yelp. She was looking for some…read moreparticular stones and according to the internet, this place would have them. We found paid street parking across the street and made our way in to be greeted by a young man working the register and two giant fluff ball kitties. This place is packed with, well... cool sh*t. There are obviously tons of different rocks and stones and artifacts. The prices range from .25 cents per pound to hundreds of dollars. I was definitely shocked by some of the prices but hey, this stuff is rare right? On top of all the crystals and stuff, they also have jewelry, windchimes, incents/sage, pet toys (likely thanks to the kitties), art, etc. It was really fun to walk through. I walked out with a nice piece of amethyst for about eight dollars. It's roughly an inch all the way around and absolutely beautiful. It's my birthstone so obviously it's my favorite. I also grabbed a small piece of tabular quarts (good for confidence, balance, relaxation, and communication) and kyanite (good for serenity and treats the adrenal glands). I love how they had little papers (for most items) that explain what their "healing properties" are. Overall, this place is cool but I did have to hurry out because I was sneezing (I'm allergic to cats). It could definitely use a little cleaning and dusting. Prices were a little much and I noticed the 15% off check-in offer a little too late but I'll definitely do that if I visit again in the future.

I Found The Soul Sanctuary, I was able to get an appointment in a reasonable time. I was welcomed by The Reiki Master Monika. And I can say I received one of the best Reiki session ever. After my appointment I felt so much more rejuvenated and clear. I could go on and on. I am thankful for her service and care. And will be back again. I suggest this type of therapy for others that are open to trying other forms of therapy. Just look into Reiki therapy and see if it's a good fit for you. I promise it's life changing.
