It seems to be the life work of Thomas Johnson, a local aficionado whose obsessive search for fossils keeps him preoccupied in this small corner of Ohio. When we visited, Johnson's shirt was still dusty from a morning dig. I asked him if the trilobite collection was the result of his own efforts, and he made it clear that it's "in progress".
