The severe pain in my mouth included with chewing, ulcers inside my mouth and infection of the jaws. I was on soft diet for several weeks and Tylenol with no relief. My PCP at Tryon Medical Partners at Pineville location had retired and saw, Dr. David Colon in Pineville. Had the office visit and he prescribed two medications. Upon receiving a statement that I owed $274.93 because this was dental and not covered, routine visit was billed and not covered . I contacted his office trying to figure out the problem with the codes after speaking with Medicare. The code was incorrect per them and if the visit was Medically Necessary should had been covered. Talked with billing and said the code was changed but it was not, only the wording. It was denied because of diagnostic code and he would not change it. If your sick and feel you need medical care for healing, what are you supposed to do?? I felt like was deem it a necessary visit as I left with 2 RX and was sick for weeks with infection. I still have not heard from them except a statement in the mail for payment and his assistant said through MyChart, he would change the code so that my payment would be LESS. Still waiting. Now I am afraid to go to a PCP doctor afraid I will be stuck with another bill! I feel like as a Retired- Senior Citizen I am being taken advantage of and have this my financial responsibility. STAY AWAY FROM HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN YOU HAVE MEDICARE AND SUPPLEMENT COVERAGE TO PAY FOR YOUR VISIT. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If I could post a 0, I would do that.

Novant Healthcare and in this case Charlotte Endocrinology was the office I visited in…read moreHuntersville. My Doctor had ordered a number of tests as part of a Senior Physical. From the Blood Work, she ordered a Bone Density Scan because my Testosterone, Calcium and Vitamin D levels all appeared low. Bone Density tests confirmed that I had low Bone Density and was at risk of a fracture if I were to fall. It's a bummer getting old. Referred me to Charlotte Endocrinology for a consultation. They reviewed the data and questioned the results in part because they had issues with how the tests were carried out. The low Testosterone was taken after 3 pm and they pointed out this test needs to be administered as early in the day as possible. Shortly after rising in the morning, the testosterone level in a male starts a precipitous drop and anything mid morning on, results are questionable. Calcium was from a blood sample and the preferred method is an analysis of the total amount of urine collected over a 24 hours period. Test were rerun and while on the low end of the acceptable range for both testosterone and calcium, they were within range for my age. Only problem was the referral to Lab Corp. My wife was having a routine colonoscopy later in the week and Lab Corp at Novant North Hospital. Got there and had the rudest technician I have ever encounter who told me in no uncertain terms, they were appointment only and there was no way she was going to draw blood for testing.

They do not show concern for my wellbeing or stability. They do not help me taper off the medications properly and force me to do it alone. I have reactions to antidepressants such as daily migraines, very severe insomnia, flu-like symptoms, mental agitation, entire-body rashes, etc. Heather Laughridge has cancelled her appointments with me 5 times in the past year- every appointment I make months ahead of time is cancelled the day of. She should not be seeing patients if she is not able to come to work. This practice is the worst I have ever worked with, leaving immediately. I have received no help for my mental illness, only have it worse as a result of working with the Novant doctors. O stars.

My first one was in 1989 when first moved to Latrobe PA and still employed with PPG. They have changed a bit over the years but I 've continued to have them just for prevention. Live everyone else, not a favorite procedure but never had a real problem till this last one. Had one last July along with an endoscopy. Showed a couple po polyps which were removed and were totally benign. Had the procedure on a Tuesday and started massive internal bleeding the following Sunday. Was taken to Novant North in Huntersville and then transferred to the CCU unit at Novant Presbyterian in Charlotte. Stayed there for two days till I stabilized and while they wanted to keep me longer, I finally talked them into a discharge. Nothing was happening at that point and if it did, I was close enough to get medical assistance quickly. Downside is that due to all of the problems, I'm scheduled for another one in April. Care was very good but let's hope for a better experience.
