I discovered this local farm at the Blue Oven Mini Market held Wednesdays in Williamsburg. They offer farm fresh eggs, smoked maple syrup, and various meats and poultry. Meat items are frozen. Selections rotate each week, so your best option is to order ahead online for pickup. This also gives you contactless payment! I loved their take on maple syrup which was made over an open fire, giving it a different smokey flavor (subtle). Their eggs are sensational and fresh! I've been wanting eggs for breakfast every morning because they are so good! The chicken breast was very high quality. The dogs loved the marrow bones. I joined this CSA a few years ago but had to drop out. It was too far too pick up our weekly box…read moreof produce. But I was looking online again this year and discovered that they now offer a closer pick-up location! Yay! Because I am a fan :o) As a CSA member you join and pay up-front. Then you pick-up a box of produce at a designated location. At the start of the season (it began last week), the box was pretty sparse. We got asparagus, rhubarb, and green onions. Because it was a bit empty, they supplemented with maple syrup. This week was green onions, napa cabbage, and asparagus. They supplemented with puffed corn and spelt. Once the season gets rolling, the boxes are full and you get freshly picked, whatever's-in-season produce! It has provided us with so many opportunities to try new foods. Cedarmore is Amish, so that makes me want to support them even more. They use hard work and basic farming implements to farm and use organic methods. I figured that for the amount that I pay, it more than pays out for what we get in our produce boxes compared to what I could buy at the store. (12 weeks is $180) Plus it's supporting a local farmer!!!

I've taken various friends with me over the years. With COVID this year, you weren't allowed to bring your own bucket, but this was ok because I usually buy their boxes anyway. I like that I can use them and recycle them. Earlier this week, I spent about 2 hours picking strawberries and walked out with about 17 pounds. I was able to make jam & jelly, as well as save some berries to go with strawberry shortcake. The prices are reasonable at $2.95/pound for pick your own and $5.75/container of pre-picked berries.

He told people machines were down after they payed and said he considered closing for the day. But NEVER texted any customers about the delay. An absolute joke and waste of time, money etc. I will NEVER recommend any 4H people to go here. He never came up to the cars in line to apologize or mention the awful wait time. This is how it works: your gonna make a big loop... drive down the driveway/road, get in line with the other vehicles, when it's your turn you'll reverse to the building (NOTE: this is where all the action is!...don't get out if you don't want to see ). Exit the property, and return to where the line started. Go into the building with your cooler and ice to pay. They take cash or credit, they also sell bags of ice. Yes, they process turkeys and ducks too (don't know the price).
