I'm a strong believer that some of the best restaurants are some of the least appetising looking and T's Vietnamese Classics, within the hardly glamorous confines of the Preston Markets, is a great example.
Appetite exacerbated by a raging hangover I found myself at Preston Markets doing a little food shopping ahead of a barbeque. If this mission was going to be completed, I needed feeding. And fast.
Forgoing sushi owing to its not-quite-stodgy enough-ness, I settled upon T's Vietnamese Classics, a tiny little Vietnamese cafe selling a range of Vietnamese rolls, curries, salads and noodle dishes for $8 a plate.
I opted for the Vietnamese vegetarian fried rice topped with an incredible red Vietnamese chicken curry and served with crunchy fresh lettuce and a generous amount of fresh coriander.
The food itself was beautiful, tasty, well made, well balanced and exactly what I wanted and despite the generous portion size I could easily have polished off another plate.
This place might not look much from the outside but T's Vietnamese Classics is an awesome little eatery whose appearance really doesn't do it justice. If you find yourself in Preston: go there, eat lots and Yelp about it. This place deserves some praise. read more
