Over the weekend I loaded up a SVU full of electronics, batteries and bulbs. Went over to the S.A.F.E. Center. Was asked a couple of questions, drove up to the are were they have people to unload your car and thats it. Was in and out in less than 5 mins and back home within 15 mins. Easy Peasy. If anyone in my local area wanted to know where to properly dispose their hazardous items I would definitely recommend coming to S.A.F.E. Center. As a young woman navigating all of this, I've unfortunately been given misinformation in the past, which has made me come into conversations a bit more guarded and, at times, probably more frustrated than I'd like to be. That being said, Will at the front was incredibly helpful right away. He took the time to listen, understood that my case was more involved, and brought in Michael, the manager, to assist. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Michael. He was patient, professional, and incredibly respectful throughout the entire interaction. He took the time to look at my case as a whole -- not just pieces of it -- and made sure I fully understood everything before we ended our conversation. Just so you know, the issues I brought up were : the long patch of dusty (or mud) that hundreds of people encounter when they get off buses at a major stop in Sun Valley, low income and senior housing in the area, the problems of homelessness (I have never been intimidated or bothered in the area by the street/park homeless), and the problems of the Sun Valley Library, which faces constant defacement and vandalism, has no Friends Group, and supports 17 schools in the area without having been budgeted to hire another librarian. I live alone, and in an emergency, no one can get in gate. Minutes, could make, all the difference. He kindly suggested to call 311, and was very patient, understanding my needs. The law requires, an unlocked exit for fires, etc, but assume all apartment buildings to have intercoms, they refuse to replace or install, new. So, thank you again, Eddy, for always being, helpful.

They are efficient so even if there's a line it goes fairly quickly. Bring cash or a checkbook to pay the fees. They accept credit card but charge for the convenience. Parking is iffy with some metered spots on the street or potentially more in the surrounding neighborhoods. For the meters, you can use credit card or even pay using app which makes it convenient in case you need more time and don't want to trek back to your car to feed the meter.

I would 100% invest more time to talk to the attorney's office if anyone is struggling been ignored by dcfs and crying wanting your kids back the court appointed attorney is the best advice.... And even the court appointed attorney sometimes ignores. Then ask the law firm parent partners for extra help. I feel sorry for the moms who are going through why I went through so that is my advice.
