Very friendly and comical staff. They make the undesirable task of airport security more enjoyable.

Also thank you Ohare for getting us home safe Bless you and your staff.

Just flew through Omaha again and it reminded me why we actually enjoy using this airport. While…read morethere is currently some construction going on, it still manages to feel small, efficient, and easy to navigate compared to many larger airports. Getting in and out is straightforward, parking is convenient, and the shuttle service to the terminal is quick and painless. We never feel like we need to arrive ridiculously early just to survive the experience. Inside the terminal there are enough food and drink options to grab a snack, relax for a bit, or enjoy the obligatory pre-flight cocktail before boarding. Seating areas are comfortable and the overall atmosphere feels much less chaotic than many major hubs. TSA has consistently been friendly during our trips, and security lines move surprisingly fast, which definitely helps take some of the stress out of traveling. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly because the airport is showing its age in certain areas and the ongoing construction can make parts of the experience feel a little less polished right now. That said, the convenience factor is hard to beat. For travelers in the Omaha area, this is one of those airports that simply gets the job done without turning travel day into a headache. We fly through here often and will gladly continue to do so.

K-TOWN!!! Locals…read morecall Kenosha K-town or Keno, so if you wanna sound cool then go ahead. Did you know that K-town is the 4th largest city in Wisconsin with approximately 100,000 residents. It is also located on Lake Michigan and is the fourth largest city on the West side of Lake Michigan behind Chicago, Milwaukee & Green Bay. I really like visiting here because it is like Chicago without all of the costs. There is free parking...shhh don't tell LAZ or they will ruin K-town too. In fact, we've parked for free with a view of the water and enjoyed a family picnic on a park table. There were plenty of empty tables to choose from. If this was Chicago, then this process wouldn't have been this easy. We would be sitting on a curb eating lunch. I also learned some famous people are from here. I was intrigued to find out that Orson Wells was from here. In fact, I was able to find his house on Yelp and I walked over to check it out. How cool was that? Even Billy Zane is from here. I like Billy Zane. Where is he at? Did he actually go down with the Titanic? Daniel J Travanti from Hill Street Blues and Academy Award winner Don Ameche from Cocoon all are from here. Not bad for this cute little town. Now Kenosha is easy to get to. You can drive or jump on the Metra train. Yes there is a Metra train that leaves downtown Chicago and arrives here. If you do take the train please be aware the train stop in Kenosha can be a little shady, so keep your eyes open. I also enjoy the museums here. There is a dinosaur discovery museum which is free but small. The main floor is crammed full of dinosaur skeletons. So enjoy. There is also a Civil War Museum and a Public Museum, which are also free. Again this would never happen in Chicago. The downtown area has seen better days. There are several closed storefronts but many new businesses are trying to bring the downtown area back to life. It is fun to walk around and discover new places. There's a small brewery in town now. It is also fun to ride on the old trolley cars. Some days are free but I believe the normal charge is a quarter. These things are a piece of history and there still running. Did you know they produced millions of cars here? AMC was a big player in this town. It is kind of sad to see the shut down factories and to realize all of the jobs that have been lost. These kind of losses to an economy can crush a city. I am sure that Kenosha is still coming out of these hard times. But little by little life is coming back. I also must recommend you hit Tenuta's. This is an old Italian store that also grills sausage & brats out front. But I highly recommend you go into the deli counter and get a meatball sandwich covered in hot giardinera. It is so delicious and it's a deal too. So K-town has got it going on. It is a close trip to downtown Chicago or downtown Milwaukee. So if you're looking for something different or an adventure then this might be your weekend trip.
